Ohanaeze raises nine panels to pursue Igbo interests

According to the Guardian, nine committees headed by eminent citizens of Igboland were inaugurated at an elaborate ceremony in Enugu to articulate various responses to every conceivable Igbo problem in Nigeria, which would in the end form the "Marshal Plan" to improve their lot. Some of the names mentioned to head the panels seem competent. What do you think? Is Ohanaeze just gasping at straws, or has it finally awakened to its responsibilities to Igbos?

Meanwhile, the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Lt.-Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, Adeniran Ogunsanya, T.O.S. Benson, M.T. Mbu, General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr. Ekwueme, M.I. Okpara, Sunny Kuku, Sonny Odogwu, Utomi, Governor Bola Tinubu, Abubakar Rimi are among 135 prominent Nigerians to be honoured tomorrow by the Igbo National Council (INC), a socio-cultural organisation, for their contributions to the uplift of the ethnic group in particular and Nigeria in general. Amanda my sister,

I couldn't agree more with you. Can you imagine the nutty prof being involved in the panel to link the Igbo in diaspora! Yes, you and I. Wonders shall never end, it is only Nzeribe that did not get a panel to head. I have more confidence in MASSOB and MOSOP etc than all this group of men in search of Igbo leadership.

They don't seem to get it, you don't lead the Igbos; you follow them and I've said elsewhere in this board that their insensitivity will cause them dearly when the spirit of Ndi-Igbo arises as it is arising, and the Igbo masses begin to assert themselves.

Warn them oh!!

Ohafia and Amanda

On the good side Ohaneze has realized the need to be inclusive of all Igbo's, but on the down side I have a few questions.

-Since Jim gets to lead or is it host a panel, will this panel function in Igbo or Hausa?

-As Mbadinuju is made to host a panel, will he report the panel members to biggie belle if they decide to hold Igbo day at Uli?

- Will the nutty professor attend the panel meeting if biggie belle says he should not go?

-Most importantly will you folks divulge critical issues affecting Biafrans in diaspora to the nutty professor ?

This Ohaneze self na wa for them.

Chiboy,

"A Daniel has come to judgement"

God bless you for your most thought-provoking input. As for the answers, your guess is as good as mine.

Here is another report on those Igbos and friends of Ndigbo slated to be honored. I am glad that General Philip Effiong has remained as faithful to Biafra as he can. He fought well for Biafra. He deserves to be honored. More of the List. Are there some names that should be removed from the list?

It must really rankle, musn't it. The Igbo big boys are all wearing One Nigeria togas while ya'all prattle about actualization and self-determination. I guess they know something the rest of you don't. It's not too late to change course you know.
What will you rather be known for - a positive voice or vehicle for change or a traitor to your own country?

Thank you for those thought provoking inputs. Like you I have some concerns about those trios Jim, Mbadinoju and Nutty professor. However I am satisfied that the panel was very inclusive of our sibblings from Rivers and delta States. I am also happier that my sceond hero after Ojukwu, Maj General Phillip effiong is included in those to be honored.

As for Mustapha brother Osetutu recommendation is already invoked on him. I will just second it. Nshi

Ohanaeze is wasting time. The names Jim Nwobodo, Mbadinuju, etc. is enough to tell us that Ohanaeze cannot be trusted to lead Igbos anywhere. How many of you are willing to be led by Nwobodo or Mbadinuju? Chiboy has said it all.

Why will you want to delete Jim Nwobodo from that list?

Udumeze,

Jim did a great job while he was the Governor of Anambra State. He also did a great job when he was the manager of Enugu Rangers.

The last memories we have of Jim is speaking hausa in Jos and following Obasanjo around like a common boy boy untill he did not get any appointment. Those are not the kind of leaders we seek.

Fellow Biafrans while you at it names to be deleted . Please include Nutty professor in that name. By the way is Peter odili in any of those panels. I saw Deputy speaker Nwuche's name but I didn't remember seeing Peter Odili River State Governor's name there. Well the Good news is that Jim Nwobodo and Mbadinoju and Nutty Professor are only serving as Hosts not the chair. However Ohanaeze should have done us all a favor by not including them there.

Any list of Ndigbo honorary awards that is exclusive of Mazi Uwazuruike is not sanctionable by Ndigbo grassroots and as such is just a good ol' ohanEZE elite backslaps.
I really am not concerned that they failed to include the MASSOB leader, for when the Biafra Actualization good fight is done, Chief Uwazuruike's name will be written in the indelible ink of Biafra National History books...unlike the doggy ohanEZE group. He will be accorded the status that befits the father of New Biafra republic.

Don't you think prematurely including Uwazuruike into Igbo honorary awards is like including Ganiyu Adams into Yoruba honorary awards and inducting Wada Nas into the Hausas Hall of Fame?

Bature,
I didn't see that Ganiyu Adams is peacefully questing for Oduduwa actualization neither is Wada Nas asking for Arewa actualization. Mazi Uwazuruike of MASSOB is peacefully questing for the freedom of Biafra republic who's become an endengered specie in that entity called Nigeria. None of the above two are in this category.

Right now, Biafra Republic is internationally recognized and has been accorded an observer status within the body of nations...with Mazi Uwazuruike as the Biafra leader. This is not the case with Wada Nas and Ganiyu Adams. I doubt that any decent country will lend them 30 seconds of their ears.

Bature

What is wrong with honouring Gani Adams, is it because the OPC kills innocent people ? Well your hero Murtala Muhammed butchered his fellow citizens and stole from the central bank and Nigeria still named an airport after him.You even put him mudering mug on your currency. So what moral rights have you to tell us who to honour?

Uwazuruike is a Biafran hero even better he is not a murderer nor does he harbor genocidal tendencies against his opponents so we will definitely honour him.
