Wonders shall never end. 'They' say some rich people are gathering together in kano to 'lobby' God for the repose of the bespectacled despot called Sani son-of-A-bacha.
Apart from serving as an opportunity to enjoy some of their stolen money in each others' company, I personally do not see any purpose in praying for the soul of a bloke who refused to heed any warning from God while he was on this side of eternity.
I'd predicted to a close friend that Sani had all the attributes of somebody who will die in office. The disdain with which he treated human lives was nothing short of satanic. He was cruel and sadistic and like the fictional god of umuofia in Achebe's 'things fall apart' would do, Abacha's body assumed room temperature when his life was sweetest to him: In the company of foreign harlots.
It is my opinion that like the proverbial Humpty Dumpty who had a greet fall, not all the kings men(the wada nases) and all the kings' horses(the alimejiris) could good put Sani's case before the almighty. God is not only merciful, HE is also perfect in justice and alas, Sani will reap what he sowed.
He had his chance and he blew it. Save your tears for the living who he rendered childless, motherless and fatherless. This is the A,B,C of divine reciprocity!

Since Abacha didn't get the chance to reap what he sowed in this life before he departed, when his soul comes back, he'll be serving out his punishments for the evil deeds he perpetrated. He cannot escape it.
So those heathen barbaous lot over there can make their usual empty displays disguised as prayers. Such noises won't have any effect on Abacha's punishment. While they're at it, why don't they pray for Aremu, too. Even his human sacrifice to his ogun cannot save him, either.

Paul Ibekwe, how dare you read my mind. Yes you did. I was gonna say that. Well, you bit me to it. You betcha, I will take a certifiable bastadized devil, Abacha there is, over Obasanjo.
