Afenifere, NF, Ohanaeze, UND move to form political party July 5

By Jide Ajani & Lekan Bilesanmi

Barring any political misfortune in the emerging relationship between the Afenifere, National Frontiers, Ohanneze Nd’Igbo and the Union of Niger Delta, the consummation of the relationship into the formation of a full-fledged political party is expected to take place on July 5, 2001, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

This was the kernel of the terse statement issued at the end of a two-hour meeting of the four political groups in Lagos yesterday.

The meeting which took place at the residence of Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, the representative of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political and economic organisation, Albert Horsefall, who led the Union of Niger Delta told newsmen that the meeting, after careful deliberations, has agreed to harmonise the different positions with a view to transforming into a political party.

According to Horesfall, the meeting, "at the instance of the National Frontiers, NF, was to try to harmonise one view of formation of a political group for Nigerians as partners and not joiners."

The NF, which was led to the meeting by Paul Unongo, is to spearhead the July 5 meeting which is expected to discuss the final modalities for the formation of a full fledged political party.

Afenifere and NF have been holding discussions on some "core values" which are expected to form the basis of the emerging political association.

The "core values", which had been at the centre of the discussions between the groups include the need to return Nigeria to the tradition of a truly federal state, resource control, devolution of power from the centre to the states, and the convocation of a national conference to discuss the basis of future relationship between the different nationalities in the country.

It would be recalled that the relationship of the NF, which appears to be the main northern group in the talks, with another political group, the National Solidarity Association, NSA, believed to be a platform created by General Ibrahim Babangida, had caused Prof. Akinyemi to write to Chief Sunday Awoniyi, the leader of NF.

After newspaper had insinuated a merger of NF with the NSA, Professor Akinyemi had written to Awoniyi demanding some clarifications .

In the letter, Akinyemi wrote that "I was assured by Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, Mr. Kenny Martins, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, Mr. Kenneth Gbagi and Princess Bisi Adegoke that the news reports (of NF/NSA merger) were false and that the National Frontiers would issue a public denial. That public denial has not been forthcoming."

"It would be in the interest of continuing talks if such a public denial is made by the National Frontiers without further delay. If this is not done, Afenifere will be unable to attend the talks fixed for June 18", Akinyemi stated.

On his part, Chief Awoniyi, in his response which came the following day, June 12, however assured Akinyemi that "there has been no merger between NF and NSA."

This is just another empty move. The North is in charge, and as far as the situation is concerned, as of this moment, they have no choice. All said and done, 2003 will still produce a president sanctioned by the North.

Why bother to merge? Afenifere should leave you people alone to continue to fail. You have no ploitical clout except as the so-called political bride/prostitute. The North used and abused you. Then they dumped you. Hahaha!!

Bature

I can understand how you feel, I mean if my free meal ticket is about to be taken away I would feel the same way too.
I just hope you are stockpiling you own share of donkeys and horses, because you are going to need a lot of those animals in the years to come.

Nickles and dimes, prostitutes and pimps!
Who said birds of the same feather don't flock together?

Like Bature said, these "P and Ps" will work hard for one Nigeria to bring the sum home to their "john", the north.
Thankfully, the Biafrans have MASSOB.

Obviously the Yorubas don't have political power after all, suddenly Ohanneze is more structured. I also read in that article that the Afinefere is breaking up the alliance with the Frontiers.

Is this about structure, leadership quality, lack of focus or an illusion of political power, asked Bamidele?

According to ratings recently by the Guardian. The Ohanneze are first in structure, intelligence, tied in goal oriented, and second in power broking.

Arewa first in power but lacks in structure, goal oriented, and last in intelligence.

The Afinifere: third in power broking, second in intelligence, first in goal oriented, second in intelligence and structure.

Now you know Bamidele

Hail Biafra

Chiboy:
Why are you always in my case? You just can't stand the truth, huh? But look at it this way, in the last election, after the South-East's efforts had been frustrated in producing a presidential candidate on PDP platform, what happened? Don't worry about the Donkeys and horses, they are not staple provisions.

Bature

I am not on your case, just don't go around thumping your chest about your perceived ability of Arewa to hold back the freedom train.

Select who you like for 2003 election, Biafrans are not interested in anymore Nigerian elections. That's the point I am trying to get accross to you.On the horses and donkey's my understanding is that this would be the standard mode of transportation in Arewa land after the Biafran ship has set sail. I am only wishing you well in the transportation business in post Biafran Nigeria.

First, I would like to say what an Odd couple, Bature and Bamidele to unit against Biafra. Wonders are made in heaven but this one is like mixing apples and oranges together...no chemistry but simply reactionary.

Anyhow, Bature the only person in your business is Waypoint One Biafra...me to be precise.

Advise, take a trip to memory lane to NigeriaWorld.com and read from an intelligent and eloquently phrased Hausa why The North are born to Misrule Nigeria? It has nothing to do with your structure or geography but a lot to do with your short circuit inferior intelligence and blood born aggressive behavior.

You claimed your born to rule yet Nigeria has bad economy and miseducation of Northern Nigerian children tattooed all over it. That could explain why the North are the most backward..per Arewa Congress.

Hail Biafra

First of all Bature, we the Biafrans are not ready to be Nigerians anymore because you donkey riding illiterates from the North have ruined the nation.
If you want to hold on to power fine, who cares about you fools. We will have our Biafra just like Eritreans had Eritrea. The Southern Sudanese will one day be freed.
Mallam Bature the muslim bastard don't worry, next election we are not voting.
MASSOB has already said that. We will go with our first cousins while you and the awos will go with your cocoa, donkey, groundnut, etc.
You are bastards that cannot take care of your own economy in the North. You depend on us, the Igbos. You take our oil and you cheat us. Don't worry time shall come when you fools will be running to Biafra to seek asylum. You'll come as immigrants and we will send you back to your beloved Nigeria.

BAMIDELE
First of all, we are not the ones looking for Afenifere. They are the ones looking for us because the North knows better politics than they do. Yorubas are foolish, you know why? If Oduduwa people were smart enough they should have known that the North was using them. The North never used us and you know that. Read the history of Nigeria before you start making false statements. They used you during the war and later dumped you. They annulled the election of Abiola, that ugly thing that thought he could survive without us. Now he's dead. UP ARTHUR NZERIBE. After you betrayed us you now want us to be your friends, God forbid. Afenifere and Ohanaeze are a bunch of older people who I guess think differently. We the new Biafrans are not ready to form any Ashawo relationship with Awolowos. We want Biafra and we shall have Biafra so don't worry.
Biafra will come and you'll be left with sharia.
Can you fools fight the North? No
That's why you are trying to please them while they are roasting your people in Kano and Lagos. Don't worry one day you'll see the Northerners coming to your land to control you. They are already doing that and before you know it your women will be enslaved and used as sex slaves. Watch and see, Illorin will fall, Ibadan will follw and so on.
We will have Biafra and freedom and you'll have those murderous bastards from Zamfara raping your children. They will go to toilet and you'll clean their nyash with your mouth while we will be in prosperity.

God Bless the Land of the Rising Sun.

First of all, welcome to this forum and make sure you tighten your seat belt because what you see is not what you get, in this case. Can you handle it?

On the other hand, I am still waiting to see when you guys would leave on the grounds nobody is holding you hostage. Think about it, and make sure you are wiser, this time around.

Bature:

When one is systematically excluded from the Political Affairs of his or her "country" to the point of being politically castrated; they are enslaved.

In Igbo consciousness, adding one's two cents is very highly regarded Hence our republican or Ohacracy mindset. The igbo does not accept the illusion of freedom because they can move arround, but yet not heard, and remain in the lower echelons of society.

If you and your Jihardist feudal lords wants to include Ndigbo as one of the nations you'll deny freedom, you have your work cut out for you.

What you're sqying is too little, too late.
The Igbo consciousness has begun.
Better look inward for sustenance.
