Forumites,Just stumbled on this piece of BiafraNigerian news and thought I'd share it with you. Apparently, if you ever needed that embarrassing and useless green book, all you had to do was travel down to this shop at Ibadan. My little question now is how many more shops are still "open for business"? Naija, we nail thee!!

Immigration seals off illegal passport office in Ibadan
From Kola Alade, Ibadan
AN illegal passport-processing outlet in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State has been detected and sealed off by the Nigerian Immigration Service.
The discovery of the centre being used by some unidentified persons to issue out fake international passport, it was learnt, made the immigration Headquarter, in Abuja to order the removal of the passport-acquisition machine from the Ibadan office.
Owing to the security implication of the illegal passport centre, the immigration authorities have instituted a probe panel to unravel those behind it.
The machine was allocated to the Ibadan Zonal Office of Immigration to serve as a standby in case the one being used in Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Ekiti states break down.
Confirming the withdrawal of the machine, an officer who pleaded anonymity stated the machine has been moved to Festac, the new passport office to serve the rising demand for passport in Lagos. Though we heard that the acquisition machine was removed from Ibadan because some officers are using it to produce passport illegally," he said.
The removal of the machine from Ibadan has been generating controversies among the residents of the state who perceived it as a political plan to frustrate the applicants in the state.
However, all efforts to get the comments of the Passport Control Officer in Ibadan, Mr. Lasunkanmi Olaitan failed as he was said to be away to Abuja on an official assignment
