this is so stupid why should people do this and get away with it.do the oil companies not pay taxes? The people in these areas are miss directing their aggression. the government and not the oil companies is responsile for their welfare. The companies pay tax and royalty to the government for them to provide jobs and infrastructure. This is criminal and whoever gains from this should be tried and convicted for kidnapping.
This not the way to encourage foreign investment.
By the way nigeria was ranked again as one of the most corrupt countries good job Obasajo. Maybe we will beat bangladesh next year .2 years of democrazy and no improvement
more killings in the middle belt and they are afraid to send the army as most of the Odi killers are from there and might take sides.
The Nigerian yoruba press remains silent and in a state of shock
Bola ige is cowering in his shell afraid to root out corruption as he has a 2.5 million naira skeleton in his cupboard. The man needs to explain why and how the man needs to go.
He has all kinds of allegations surrounding him.HOW CAN you investigate others when you are not honest.

rudek:
Are there any links to the stories that you are refering to? The Oil companies are fair game for the anger of the Niger-Deltans. The oil companies and the thieves in Abuja are one and the same.
