Ambrose,
I echo your sentiments towards Amanda.

Though Amanda has a very big mouth, I am glad that she is safe and sound.
I will be damned if anything happened to our people.

Amanda I am glad you are ok.

On July 26, 2001, I received an e-mail from a friend. It was an article written by Ahmed Rashid. Here is the article, in part:
quote:
SINCE LAST YEAR the United States government has been building an international alliance to strangle the Taliban leadership in Afghanistan, eliminate the threat of resident terrorist Osama bin Laden and put pressure on Pakistan to halt support for the Taliban. It is an alliance that, according to an official of the U.S. National Security Council, "starts from Afghanistan's neighbours and extends to the Group of Eight, Nato, the European Union, East Asia and the Middle East."

To followers of affairs in the region, this may sound like more hot air from Washington. But as the administration of President George W. Bush concludes a much-anticipated review of policy towards Afghanistan and Pakistan, the contours of a significantly different Afghan policy appear to be taking shape.

Contrary to the former Clinton administration, which made catching bin Laden and crippling his organization the centrepiece of its Afghan policy, the Bush administration is targeting the Taliban and the small extremist clique that surrounds leader Mullah Mohammed Omar. Senior U.S. officials now view the Taliban's removal from power as a pre-requisite to catching bin Laden and to ending the civil war in Afghanistan.

Thus, it seems quite clear that the war against Afghnistan began before the jet attacks in New York and Washington.

Amanda;
That was a scary silence given what had happened. Glad to read that you are OK. That alone signals "all will be well" shortly.

My heart goes out to all who are affected in any way by the terrorist attack. I hope all, at least on here, has been accounted for.

Only deduction from recent event is that there are so many mad men around. Always be thankful for God's safety net.

The SEVEN REWARDS that come to those who volunteer their lives for the Islamic cause!

1) The FORGIVENESS of all sins.

2) That he will see his place reserved in PARADISE!

3) That he will be 'crowned with glory' with a holy stone, the Yaqutah.

4) That in paradise he will have 72 of the most beautiful virgins as his wives

5) That he will be spared the 'suffering of the grave'.

6) That he will be spared the horror of the Day of Judgment and any uncertainty about whether he goes to paradise or not will be dispelled.

7) He will be allowed to to bring with him to paradise 70 members of his family.
No wonder the families smile too. No wonder when Hezbollah leader Sayed Hassan Nasrallah's own son was killed in a suicidal attack on Israeli soldiers he appeared on television laughing with pleasure and well-wishers called on the phone!

PS: I challenge any muslim on this board to dispute the foregoing.

Sam,

Hmm…I could have sworn you are humane!

Anyway sha, thanks for caring. I won’t be leaving this earth till my re-incarnation mission is accomplished.

Ikpatt,

Glad to hear that you cared. Thanks for caring.

I got a couple of friends who were caught up in the WTC tragedy.
All is well now.

I agree with you. Daily and momentary prayers are crucial. No one should be without it.

I hope that the US will find the cowards that did this and punish them. Also, those Nigerians that are rejoicing should be ashamed of themselves. I am not sure that there needs to be a war.

Typical! Once again you and your Western friends are giving Muslims a bad name. There was no celebration of the tragedy. What we have was people who were frustrated by the anti-Muslin foreign policy of the Bush administration. It has nothing to do with celebrating the events of September 11. But, what more can be said? You and your friends are looking for excuses to hate Muslims, and now you may have found one.

Adamu,

You wrote:

You ought to be ashamed of your bold face deception and lack of candour. I suggest you call your fellow fanatics and blow your stack for the final time.

Because, this is surely the beginning of the end for the capricious desires and objectives of your religion.
Committing cowardly and dastardly acts of inhumane proportions, is the exercise of choice in the dominion of evil.

Woe betide any adulterous religion that seeks to impose itself on the people of Biafra against their will.

We are going to deal with the Islamic murderers by ourselves. That satisfaction must not go to the Americans or any other people. All that we ask is that the US permit conscience and long term objectives to influence their BiafraNigeria policy.

I see that the fork-tongued Adamu did not complain when US forces bombed Milesovich to save the Muslims of Kosovo when Milesovich was putting them through ethnic cleansing. To show Adamu's duplicity, one needs only observe the he calls the barbaric attacks "these events." Perhaps, to Adamu and his ilk we have just witnessed some sporting events in much the same way that his Hausa-Fulani stock had made a sport of murdering Biafrans.

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL!

America, America, America, America

Oh beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above thy fruited plain

America, America
God shed HIS grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea

Oh beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thy alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears

America, America, America, America
God shed HIS grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
from sea to shining sea

My Fellow Biafrans (Ok you BiafraNigerians too):

It will not be long before we breath the air of freedom in the Land of the Rising Sun. These criminal and apocalyptic acts point to the dawn of a new era in the fight against the evil Islam and its fatwah. We are equal to the task.

In Owasso and the Tulsa metropolis, people are frightened wondering if there would be more explosions. Especially, Owasso, which is a military base, has been reduced to a ghost town with sirens and the military base on a full tactical alert. This is really strange. Never in my life have I seen a frightened Americans.

As much as you believe in the rule of law, I hope you will not complain when the bombs start raining on the Islamic countries-- a retaliation to the suicidal Jihardists--to justify the attack on America's finest financial districts.

Welcome back. I'm glad and relieved that you are alright.

Yeah, tuesday's carnage is too dumbfounding that it has left millions of people stunned.
Never in history has the Americans and the rest of it's inhabitants been this scared.
This is a real historical catastrophe! May the souls of those who perished, march on in peace.

More terrorists arrested resulting to closure of all New York area airports.
=====================================
September 14, 2001

THE AIRPORTS
10 Held at Kennedy Airport and La Guardia, Closing Both
By CLIFFORD J. LEVY

Ten people were taken into custody yesterday at Kennedy International and La Guardia Airports shortly after they were reopened for the first time since the terrorist attacks on Tuesday. The authorities then abruptly shut all three major New York-area airports again.

Law enforcement officials said one of those held was carrying a false pilot's identification. And at least one of them had tried on Tuesday while wearing an American Airlines crew uniform to board a flight to Los Angeles around the time of the hijackings, only to become infuriated when it was canceled because of the attacks at the World Trade Center.

Several of those detained yesterday showed up at the airport with tickets for flights canceled on Tuesday and tried to use them, officials said. The man with the false pilot's identification was arrested, and he and the others were being questioned to determine whether they were part of a plot to attack American targets.

"There has been one arrest made by the Port Authority Police Department at a New York airport," Barry W. Mawn, the head of the New York F.B.I. office, said through a spokesman. "There are also three other instances at the airports in which the F.B.I. and Joint Terrorist Task Force are conducting an investigation."

The incidents came on a nerve- racking day in New York, filled with bomb scares, transit disruptions and a sense of paralysis and fear. Schools and businesses reopened and the city struggled toward some semblance of normalcy. But stores and train stations opened and closed sporadically and engineers tested buildings near the World Trade Center's ruins amid fear that they might collapse. At one point, the entire borough of Staten Island was closed off in a hunt for a suspect who turned out to be a phantom.

Investigators said they believed that at least one of those taken into custody at Kennedy yesterday was among a group who tried to board a Los Angeles-bound plane at the airport on Tuesday morning, around the time that three other West Coast- bound planes were slamming into the twin towers and the Pentagon outside Washington.

In that incident, the flight was canceled at Kennedy just as passengers were beginning to board United Airlines Flight 23 to Los Angeles, investigators said. "These guys got belligerent, and said something like, `We've got to be on this plane,' " an official said. "They expressed a desire to remain on the plane and resisted getting off."

The men, who appeared to be of Arab descent, then fled before they could be questioned by law enforcement officers, investigators said.

The Italian police have reopened an inquiry into the theft of an American Airlines uniform and credential in Rome four months ago — an incident that the authorities had no reason to focus on until the attacks.

At a news conference last night, the New York police commissioner, Bernard B. Kerik, said the man arrested at Kennedy "had identification indicating he was a pilot." He added: "He attempted to clear security and he was stopped. The identification he had was, in fact, false."

Shortly before the airports were shut down at 5 p.m., several law enforcement officers halted the boarding of an American Airlines flight that was about to depart from Kennedy for San Jose, Calif., which would have been one of the first planes out since Tuesday. A passenger said the officers closely questioned and searched about 15 people before announcing that the flight was canceled and the airport was closed for the night.

The officers scrutinized the identifications of the passengers, who were detained for at least two hours. "Anyone with dark skin or who spoke with an accent was taken aside and searched," said the passenger, Mike Glass, 43, of Seattle. "And then they went to any male with too much facial hair."

Around the same time, at the American Airlines terminal at Kennedy, officers were seen detaining a man in handcuffs, with one officer examining his identification.

On another American Airlines flight at Kennedy, a passenger said, a heavily armed SWAT team boarded the plane after it had taxied away from the gate and removed a male passenger, NBC News reported last night.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the three airports, would not say whether they would open today.

Law enforcement officials also said that at Newark International Airport, two men on a Saudi aircraft were detained after being identified on a terrorist watch list. It was not known whether they had links to those detained at the New York airports.

The closing of the three airports capped a tense day that provided a first glimpse of the future of air travel in the United States: heavily armed law enforcement officers of all kinds patrolled the three airport
