All pure Igbo states in BiafraNigeria have been cut off from telephone links. Officials of the BiafraNigerian telecom monopolist (forget all the crap about privatization) say the situation would remain until the cable linking the states to Abuja, severed by a construction firm handling the dualisation of Abuja - Keffi road, is restored.
All Pure Igbo States Cut off from telephone links.

Why in the world are the telephones lines in Igboland linked to Abuja and Hausaland? Are the telephone links in Ibadan similarly linked to Ugwu Awusa? Is this not clear evidence that someone who hates us wishes to have their finger on the very life of Nd'Igbo?

Yet, there are Igbo idiots and one-nigerianists who are celebrating that we have phones in AlaIgbo. What is the use having a phone when some Mallam in Keffi or Abuja is listening to everything to you say?

Obviously they are holding us in a strangle hold- they have our only source of electricity, and airports, and ports, and telephone lines.

Little matter, we will realise Biafra, without electricity, without phonelines, without ports, without airports.

But this willonly be for a time, cos when the lights go on in Biafra, they willnever again fail, and likewise the phone l;ines.

As for the Nigerians, God help them, what use are allthe phone lines in the world if you have nowhere to phone, what use the electricity IF YOU HAVE NO FOOD TO EAT? And the airports, they have no planes to fly in with????

PRIORITIES, a word strange to Nigerian leadership, its just OIL, and more OIL!!!

What do the Igbo governors think about this? Have you also noticed that the Igbo states do not have GSM? GSM is in the North. It is in the West. It is in Rivers State. Yet no part of Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, or Enugu States have it.

Please guys, let us choose better words to do this battle. We should do away with divisive terms such "pure Igbo". No igbo state should be called "pure" exclusively.

Emela:

"Pure" as I initially used it in the title was intended to denote exclusivity, i.e., the undisputed truth that only the Igbo are native to the affected areas. It was not intended to be a comparative term - comparing the purity of one Igbo against another. However, to accomodate even the other non-Igbo Biafrans who feel very much at home in that part of Igboland, I will also avoid the term "Exclusively." I think "Predominantly" is probably a better term. The change has been made.

I am into this the Igbo states are having GSM now. I used it in Onitsha, Obosi, Nkpor,Asaba, Okpanam where one cell siteis. Enugu, Aba, Oba,Ojoto, Umuoji during Christmas. They are having MTN connection. The problem was that the bandwith of NITEL in Onitsha is very low.

MTN promised that they will connect Onitsha before Christmas. They depend on the promise NITEL gave them. After setting up their network to link to NITEL through Onitsha axis became a problem and they have to protect their name. they tried satelite link it was not possible. With 24hours they got some some satelite communication expects from USA that linked them to Lagos at the cost of $300,000.00 per month and they have to pay six months in advance that resulted to $1.8M.

To their amazement Onitsha subscribers collected all the starter pack they have available together with their promotional pack pack called bogof (Pay for one get two). They got short of starter pack, this affected the taking off of Aba launching but the cell site at Aba is installed and it is working but now product to sale to them. They are working on Owerri cell site right now together with Nnewi.

The fallout of this made them to change their business plan. I mean the Onitsha sales, where they have to move starterr pack from different locations into Onitsha and it was not enough. The sales was within 3 weeks.

The GSM politics:
MTN was brought into Nigeria by Pascal Dozie, so they are more interested in South-East. While Econet was brought in by Chief Balogun. They are still playing their maginalization politics, that is why Econet has to move to Uyo first neglecting South-East market. Though they are cheap, some people in Onitsha has subscribed to them long ago but they don't have the financial muscle to rent satelite like MTN.

Most people abroad spoke with their aged parents through GSM this Christmas at their home town depending on how far the town is from the cell site.

What we are working on now is internet services (ISP) in the South-East.
