We first said it here folks, and here it is!We had predicted that the Sharia agenda was an attempt to islamise Nigeria.
I think that we can safely say that the lines are drawn! With the biafran territories going to be the only non sharia states;
So, fellow Biafrans, we must press on with our agenda, true we have our enemies on every side, some within and many outside, but we are united in this fundamental belief, that we must expel the beast of Nigeria from our territories.Friday, 18th January, 2002

MINNA — THE Supreme Council of Sharia in Nigeria has said the council’s immediate target is to work for the implementation of Sharia legal system in Kwara and Oyo States.
President of the council, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmad said this during a courtesy visit to the Niger State governor, Engr. Abdulkadir Kure.
According to him agitation for the Islamic legal law had been high in the two states adding that all that is needed is for the council to facilitate the execution.
He said as an immediate step, the council will soon establish offices in Ilorin and Ibadan which are the capitals of the targeted states.
Dr. Ahmad also declared that apart from the states already practicing the Sharia legal system, the Islamic law will also spread to all states nationwide soon.
The body which was in Minna to express gratitude to the state governor, Engr. Kure for supporting the implementation of Sharia in his state said Muslims nationwide are behind him.
The president however called on former military heads of state, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar to join hands with the governor towards the implementation of the legal system.
according to him, "we want the two former Heads of State to face Sharia with the same level of seriousness they have shown to politics because the state is popular on the political scene and we hope the same will be extended to Sharia."
He lamented that out of all the former Muslim heads of state and present Muslim governors in the country, only General Muhammadu Buhari and Engr Abdulkadir Kure attended their function held in Kaduna recently.
In his response, Governor Kure pointed out that it is no more news that the Sharia law is constitutional and in line with God’s wish. He however regretted that even among the Muslims, many still don’t embrace the law.
"We are not worried because we know that there must be opposition; we have a focus; we know where we are going and we will go on systematically," Governor Kure declared.
He however remarked that since Islam is a religion of peace, all Muslims should make peace their watchword always.
The governor called on the council to harmonise all the criminal laws in conformity with the Sharia legal system to make the criminal laws uniform.
