There they go again

“The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday threatened to paralyse the country through a general strike and an uprising in the event of any attempt at an unconstitutional takeover of government, warning that such a strike and uprising would not be called off until democratic rule was restored.

Giving the warning against the background of reports by foreign media, especially the CNN which hinted that the country was better off under the military, NLC President, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who addressed a press conference in Abuja yesterday, said the impression given by CNN was that democratic rule was only good for the West, while countries like Pakistan and Nigeria were better off with military dictatorship.”

These guys could not even hold a strike for two days. What did they do when Abacha was in power. Did they go on strike?

Ekpo:

Who dash frog coat? Isn't this the same NLC that could not sustain a nation-wide strike past two days after its president was thrown into detention?

I rest my case with your summation. NLC doesn't have a fibre to stand against the boys in khaki.

House to Obasanjo: You're Not Performing

quote:
"Today is the judgment day for the President. Any body who cannot subject himself to the rule of the law should vacate the throne as the system cannot collapse on anybody. All over the world, Presidents respect the rule of law. We deserve an apology from the president on his performance, if its not coming, then the rule of law must take place."

quote:
"For the Police to go on strike in Nigeria shows that something is wrong in the country. And very soon, we will hear that Army may be going on strike."

quote:
Another member from Sokoto State, Hon. Sule Yari Gandi described the president as the "political monster of Nigeria who intends to turn the polity into anarchy and state of lawlessness."

Why is Biafranigeria perturbed by the NLC movement? IN comparison to Pakistan, is the rogue state not doing business with America in fighting the war against terrorism?

It's all about interest in a scenario where one can be used to achieve a goal.
