General Obasanjo reckons it was Resource control that caused the civil war.

Gowon thinks it was "Nzeogwu's coup that caused all the wahala.

Now Ciroma would have us believe that Ironsi Caused Civil War

quote:
Ciroma was speaking at the National War College, Abuja, where he chaired a seminar with the theme: Assessing the Nigeria Civil war.
He said "immediately after the 1966 coup the government of the day set up a committee to study the cause of the coup. Those of us in Kaduna found this unnecessary and set up another committee to study the merger of Nigeria in 1914. It was not the 1966 coup that caused the civil war but the way the government of the day handled the crisis." Ciroma said further that the first thing the Ironsi-led government did was to scrap the federal structure replacing it with a unitary system even while the government committee had not completed its report. "By this single act, Ironsi was looking for trouble," said Ciroma.

We are going to un-make Ironsi's mistake by all means!

As we say in BiafraNigeria: 'wonders shall never end.'

Listen to Ciroma:

"Those of us in Kaduna found this unnecessary and set up another committee to study the merger of Nigeria in 1914."

My answer: Really! [Confused]
