An aircraft carrying at least 100 people has crashed into buildings in Kano in northern BiafraNigeria, shortly after taking off from the city's airport.

Get this,
quote:
people could be heard inside the wreckage screaming for help, but they perished because firefighters had no water and could not put out the fire.
In a country where the president is busy buying jets for himself, the "firefighters had no water and could not put out the fire."

Why did the firefighters even bother to go to the crash site? Why?

Firefighters without water! What a crock!

I am even surprised that the fire fighter showed up, only that they didn;t have water. Most of the time the fire fighter would not even have a vehicle to drive to the accident seen. Yet this is a country where the President is always trottling the globe. I am surprise he didn't go there and tell them to shot up. Obasanjo please divid that country and get her out of her misery.

Bro Biafra
Firefighter in BiafraNigeria is not only for fighting fire, don't you know that the wreckage contains valuable loot available to be pillaged by the earliest arrivals? Saving the survivors is secondary to gathering their belongings.

By the time the investigators from the planes manufacturers in europe arrive, even the metal panels from the wreckage would have been removed for more usefull purposes like making pots and pans by the impoverished populace. That's BiafraNigeria for you.

Sad isn't to have an aged plane for public transportation? Don't be shocked to find out that the private airline plane is the outdated forker with very bad track record for maintainance. That dark skinned bastard, Obasanjo will spend billions for a stadium and less for the enforcement of air safty. The money for new stadiun now the cost of billions could have been used to buy new planes by the nations airline, so Biafrannigerians would not have to fly cheap airways to save money rather than life.I wish he could have boarded that plane and have his rib cages damaged in that crash, perhaps see what it feels to have pain. Nigerians would be the fools of the Century if the vote him back for another term. This man is no leader and lacks the clout to heal.

His proudest expression for sorrow is to silence a helpless mother by his infamous word "Shut up". His capacity for sympathy is cold blooded to the relation of his not so noble leadership. Obasanjo is the most cerebral bastard Biafranigeria has ever had. There is no concious.

My capacity for sorrow belongs to Useni's wife and the loftiest of Biafrans,I extend my proundest sympathies.

Hail Biafra

Don't you know that building stadium is another way to chop money. Because there will be no money to chop from fire truck water, only the money they will chop from ordering the truck. With a stadium it is at least three years project, by that three years all members of Obasanjo family would gotten their fair share of the public treasury.

Dr. B:

Take a further look.

Look who shows up after a plane crash in BiafraNigeria. You have civilian spectators, looters, marauders, the maiguard, and firefighters without water.

By contrast, look at the scenes of the September 11 attack in New York. You find (top right), New York firefighters saturating the attacked WTC building with hight pressure water from strategically located fire trucks, ambulances ready to whisk survivors off to emergency treatment facilities. Bottom (right), New York firefighters and police work frantically to save lives.

And what the hell are these two BiafraNigerians below doing?

Maybe they are waiting for Obusonjo to come and tell them to “shut up.” “I don’t have to be here.”

But, he will go there. Election season is coming and the plane crash was in the North. If he tells them to "shut up," they will declare a fatwah on him and run him out of Aso Rock. Therefore, he will cut short his southern Africa junket, and declare two days of national mourning.

There is this picture below, in which the "emergency workers," three days after the plane crash, are combing through the debris like vultures, looking for the valuable personal effects of the deceased passengers and crew.

Igbo General is among the survivors:

One Army General, Briga-dier General Emmanuel Ikegwuoha is among four survivors of the ill-fated Executive Airline Services (EAS) plane that crashed Saturday in Kano killing 72 passengers and crew.

One of these days, an asteroid will fall in Kano and kill an “IGBO LEADER.” What was Ekwueme doing in Kano? So Ekwueme understands the importance using planes as a means of transportation. Yet, the airports in the East are the worst in BiafraNigeria, and there is not even an international airport in the capital of Igboland, Enugu. Odi egwu.

If this plane crash had happened in Umuahia, would Shagari or Adesanya have been anywhere close to the scene of the crash? Chei! This is a clear sign that Ekwueme is an efulefu.

Shame on Ekwueme

Haven't you heard of Igbo saying called Aja la Mba. This socalled leaders will rather fix somebody else house than their own. If ekwueme had used his clout 22 years ago as second in command and updrade Enugu airport may be some of the Igbos who died in that crash would be alive today.

Like Ogechi said you would caught shagari or Adesanya dead in Umuahia or Owerri, who the heil is this Ekwueme friend in kano? How come this friend didn't stand by him at the Jos Convention in 1999.

Like Brother Ikemba Front alluded to who is this Ekwueme friend? Fellows I think there is more here than meet the eye. Is this Plane crash a prelude to 2003 election. Was somebody trying to eliminate Ekwueme then an Awusa friend came to the rescue, to earn some chips that may be cashed at a later date. Gentlemen I smell conspiracy here, is Obasanjo methodically eliminating potential opponents. Remember that the killer of Bola Ige is still at large. Whatever happened to the investigation to Ikeja Cantonment fire. Umu Biafra there are so many coincidence here. Ndigbo si Agbaa aku ya ga na ogbu, agbaa aku ya ga na ogbu, ekwere ogbu mee aku. Yep! The Gods must be angry with Obusonjo:
quote:
Grieving relatives accused the president of insensitivity when Olusegun Obasanjo failed to offer them words of comfort and left shortly after arriving.

"They said he had other appointments. Maybe his appointments were better than us,"
Habibu Yusuf Hibbu, standing in front of his ruined house, told Reuters. "The president didn't say anything. There was a lot of security and we were pushed on one side. The whole thing lasted only five minutes.

Those victims and their family should be happy he didn't tell them to shot up. what did they expect from that murderer, he doesn't care, the number that died in plane crash is not even one tenth of those Obasanjo have send to early grave since his second coming.

Before your next domestic fight in BiafraNigeria, I suggest that you read this,
quote:
All the rust buckets currently parading as internal air planes are accidents waiting to happen. I remember making a Lagos to PH via Owerri journey in one of the Nigerian internal airlines (name withheld). The year was 1996 and during the summer time. The air craft engine was in a perpetual struggle to maintain a decent altitude and course for the duration of the journey and the engine was whistling like mad. Needless to say that there was no relaxed passenger on board that plane. For me it was plain nauseating sitting strapped and knowing that my life could hang on some Engineering fault somebody had failed to fix. My fears were heightened when I noticed a guy in a dirty dark blue boiler suit (over-all) who was intermittently tweaking one control equipment at the rear of the plane.
With retired military thugs "operating" the airlines, one wonders if the planes are not being flown by retired military pilots.

And, even if mechanical problems do not cause your plane to fall apart during the flight, remember that some of the Northern pilots flying those planes were trained at the Abacha Air Force flight "schools." Some were trained in Pakistan. Who knows? Some may even have been trained in Afghanistan. Thus, they are like their Al Qaeda relatives; their flight lessons did not include such "useless" things as "how to properly land the plane."

That plane crash took place in the Sharia State of Kano. Yet, we are not aware of any top-ranking political figure from a Sharia State who died or almost died in the crash.

We have a right to know that the pilot flying non-Muslims is not a Sharia jihadist. That may be a contoversial inquiry, but it should be made a part of the investigation. Mrs. Kema Chikwe, please take note. No Sharia jihadists in the cockpit.

I completely agree with you brother, I remember flying Okada airline in 1992 from Lagos to PH, I was holding my breath throughout the 45 minutes flight. The Plane sound was just like, I don't know if you are familier with what we call Engine Okaa back home, The machine they use in grinding corn to make agidi or akamu. That was exactly the way that plane engine was sounding, The pilot assured me by saying don't worry this is Nigeria.

Seun & Joe:

Did you read this account also?

UNKNOWN to many people, the EAS plane that crashed near Kano on Saturday almost crashed exactly eight days earlier around the same Kano suburbs.

quote:
It had taken off smoothly from Jos around 11.30 a.m. going to Lagos via Kano. At 12.28 p.m., a voice announced to the passengers that the plane would land, shortly, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, kano. Then, almost immediately after, problems started manifesting.

The plane made a descent and went down so low enough for passengers to see clearly other planes parked at the airport. Then, it moved high up again, and shortly after, came down a little.

The passengers, who included this reporter, looked down and, in a fleeting moment, saw the plane moving out of the city to a vast expanse of farmland.

There were huts, farmlands, then clouds, then the city again. Some of the passengers who had all along been chatting away needed no one to quiten them. Palpable fear was written all over their faces.

Glances were exchanged. The hostesses were nowhere to be seen. One middle-aged woman asked the reporter what the problem was and got no reply. There was no explanation either from the crew on why the 30-minute journey from Jos was now taking 40 minutes.

Then descent again, the plane continued moving steadily down with passengers holding their breath. Then, it touched down and a chorus of “thank God” from those on board.
But it zoomed off again almost immediately it made that impact with the tarmac. Then, we started the anguish all over again. The plane moved out of the municipal area to the now familiar farmlands with noticeable huts adorning thatched roofs.

By now, not a few passengers had started intense quiet prayers. There was still no word from the crew, still not a single hostess in sight. Then, the plane circled and, in a moment, was within the airport area again. It started going down and at last, landed safely and taxied to a stop.

It was not before this that a voice came through, announcing that we were at the Mallam Aminu kano Airport. No explanation was offered for the extra 18 minutes spent hovering around the airport area, except that Lagos bound passengers should remain seated while new ones joined them for the last lap of the journey.

As more passengers joined the flight, the reporter looked at them, wondering whether they were foolhardy or were simply unaware of the harrowing experience of the last 20 minutes.

Some minutes later, the plane took off, this time, for a very smooth flight to Lagos. As the reporter was disembarking down from the plane and the hostesses waved bye to the passengers, there was the feeling of pity for the air workers whose lives seemed to be like those of “grasshoppers in the hands of wanton boys.”

As the reporter learnt of the Saturday crash of an EAS plane in Kano, there was the prayer it would not be the same plane he boarded eight days earlier. But a report later said the crashed plane was the only one left in the airline’s fleet.

Now that is what I call living dangerously!

How come so many people knew so many things are wrong with the "Tokunbo" jet industry and no one said nought??

Flying With Battered Wings Lately, the Nigerian airspace has become dotted with plethora of ageing, noisy and dumped tokunbo aircraft arising from the liberalisation of the aviation industry. But yesterday's move by the Federal Government to clip the wings of operators beginning with the suspension of BAC 1-11 aircraft suggests that all is not well with the industry.
