quote:The loss of a wife will devastate anybody, or in fact bring down some otherwise strong men. So, for the President to remain on top of the situation, coordinating the search for the missing plane, making an early morning speech to console the nation, visiting the families of some of the deceased when the sad news became obvious, and leading Nigerians to the crash site for an interdenominational worship; these were acts of great statesmanship for which we must commend him. - Ochereome Nnanna
I disagree, man. Not when the emperor might indeed be happy that the thorn on his backside is gone like the wind. News sources have it that all the negative allegations against aremu always originated from this stella who was as greedy for money and earthly things as atiku. How can aremu who never slept with this so-called loved wife of his for many, many years be truly sympathetic now that she’s goooooone?!
Below: Gani correctly describing Alex Akinyele, the banana republic’s former Information Minister after the latter took exception to the former's open letter of wisdom to the emperor:
quote:"I don’t have time for political jobber, an economic sycophant and a financial running dog of the establishment. He has never been serious in his life. He has never had a respectable personality and has never believed in himself.
"He has always tied his apron to those in power. He worships power without any respect for principles and idealism. He has a narrow perspective of governance and of course he has a delinquent position and kindergarten perception."
"At best, he is a comic figure worthy of being a member of the famous comedian, Baba Sala’s troupe. He is an Alawada Kerikeri," Chief Fawehinmi declared.

This one is funny, at least to me. Ellis seeing that Mazi Ochi was burying him alive especially after Ochi went back and took excerpts from all the posts that greeted Ellis’ thread, resorted to:
quote:Ochiwar
Shut up
Ellis
LOLOLOL!!!!
That’s it? Remember never kill the messenger.

This why I love that man Gani Fawehinmi, Obasanjo was happy that Stella is gone now he can turn Aso Rock Villa into a brutel so he can have young girls all over the place. First of all Obasanjo Have 18 wives so he is not bothered by the loss of one of them.
Donald Trump’s pointing fingers, and not the “You’re fired” kind.
The Donald wants everyone to know he’s not to blame for the dropping ratings of his “Apprentice” show. It’s Martha Stewart’s fault. Trump told ABC Radio that Stewart’s version of the “Apprentice” hurt the fourth season of his show because it mixed up viewers. “I think there was confusion between Martha’s ‘Apprentice’ and mine,” Trump said. “Mine continues to do well, and as you know, the other one has struggled severely.” He continued his Martha bashing later on the Don Imus radio show Thursday, declaring he knew all along that Stewart’s show would fail.
“I never thought it was a good idea,” he said, according to Business Week Online. Trump, who is an executive producer on Martha’s show, complained, “I was never in favor of it.”
So we guess that’s what he really meant when the show was announced in Februay and he said, “We think this will be a tremendous success.”
I am hoping with crossed fingers that maybe this and other hints will serve as a deterrent by serving as a reminder to those who are known to DOUBLESPEAK with INSINCERE accolades on things they don't believe in. They're expected to use this as a mirror for their own follies after struggling through Donald’s comments/about-turns/double speaks/lies/insincerity or call it whatever you like, still it sounds and looks like plain lie. An observant reader could see that the Donald lied and this my friends, is not good. As rich as he is, he’s a liar also.

No animal, no matter how wicked can go ahead to attack Obasanjo in his current situation.--Chief Alex Akinyele
LOL! Chief Akinyele, please how many wives does Obasanjo have??? How many of them does he love???

Former military governor of Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Umar (rtd) rebuking the apeish lord of nigeria:
quote:"Can you estimate the number of fatalities that are a daily occurrence through road accidents due to bad roads? These ghastly events on Eastern roads, given you the impression that the Biafrian war is still on. Roads all over the country are in such state of disrepair due to government’s neglect."
Heck, they are still wedging a war on the Igbo despite their claim for a one nigeria. Who is the bagger that is so blind to not see what obasanjo and others have been doing is a clandestine war of annihilation of Ndiigbo, their nightmare?

The same thing some of us saw sitting down, MARKUS WEBER , NWA ARO + WAYPOINT1BIAFRA couldn’t see standing up. Perhaps they will now attempt to discredit the National Planning Commission (NPC), World Bank, UNDP, DFID, USAID + CIDA. An attempt not dissimilar to the FAILED attempt to discredit Amadi O, Elendu + my(very humble)self.
Vindication is sweet!
Postscript In recognition of this laudable achievement, Orji ‘we are sorry for the war’ Kalu is hereby invited to London for a celebratory dinner (all expense paid!) where it is hoped that (1) he will tell us more about his (vice)presidential ambition + (2) he will be reunited with his bossom pal Alamieyeseigha.

quote:Should Obasanjo insist and continue to follow and heed to the advice of those prophets of doom around him, (God forbid), we would one day wake up before 2007 without him, and the mantle of leadership will surely fall in the hands of his staunch enemy, who will one day jail Olugbenga or Olumuyiwa. It will be a new dawn for the press to emerge with new captions; Obasanjo’s loot…..
Similarly, we should remember how innocent lives were lost through the government sponsored bomb blasts during Abacha, and the thousand lives that died through the activities of OPC in Lagos, Shagamu etc as aided and abetted by the government of Obasanjo.
One good thing about Nigeria is that whatever goes round comes around. These are good lessons for the wise to learn. – “Is Obasanjo Going The Abacha Way?”by Abdu Isa Kofarmata.
Taking the coded warning into view, the safest bet for obasanjo and his Yoroba people will be to join the forces that want an Igbo, a Rivers/Bayelsa or a Calabar/Ibom to ascend the leadership mantle or be ready for imminent reprisal attacks by the arab north Mafioso who are lying in wait, can’t wait to get to work. Know what I mean? Revenge they say is a dish not only best served cold, add boiling passion to it. The hotter the merrier it seems the author is saying. Hope our Yoroba neighbors copy. BTW, my opinion about the entire article is in affirmation with the general expression of the views about the need for aremu obasanjo to cut and run. This thing called nigeria, sef!

The quote is how someone who’s scared stiff to reveal his name addressed the news of the escape from London for the now wanted fugitive from justice, the Bayelsa ex-con governor. Only in their nigeria could such happen with impunity, for a disgraced and caught in the act thief to still be called governor of a state. It gives credence to the worldview about nigeria that she’s truly a banana republic ruled by a severely incompetent SOB.
quote:A public policy analyst speaking on the condition of anonymity told Elendureports.com, “If this DSP man was able to fly into Nigeria without the knowledge of the Obasanjo government, we are finished. [FOR REAL! - mine] It means anybody can come into the country and bring with them all kinds of things, including arms. Can the Federal Government tell us what the Governor brought into Nigeria? Obasanjo is a joker!”

"To be a Nigerian is to endure Obasanjo's incompetence, the corruption of his government and party; the hypocrisy of his self-positioning; the mendacity of his policies, and the sheer audacity of his attempts to re-impose himself on Nigerians through his third-term bid. It takes a strange kind of chutzpah for people like Ojo Maduekwe, general secretary of the PDP, to talk about the "achievements of the Obasanjo administration" as the justification for this bid. To be a Nigerian is a burden on the spirit and it is to endure a society whose citizens are mostly in mental coma, and whose leaders suffer from psychosis.
These, indeed, are not the best times to be a Nigerian. As I talk and listen to many former Nigerians out here in the US and in Europe, I sense that the prophecy that Nigeria might end up like Haiti - full of promise in the 19th century but never rising to that promise to date - is about to be fulfilled. Thanks to Obasanjo and his cohorts, more Nigerians are throwing away the yoke of being Nigerian, never to return, like my friend who had paid for his six by six."
