How did this fools ever get to rule biafranigeria? Is Gowon a lost man for thinking that there is such a thing as arewa people instead of Hausas, Fulanis, Tivs, Junkun (whatever) and a host of the other Insignificant tribes they have up in that desert? What is this BS about one North?

1985 Coup: Forgive and Forget, Gowon Tells IBB, Buhari
From Josephine Lohor in Kaduna

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), has advised Major-General Muhammadu Buhari and General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (both retired) to take a cue from him by forgetting about the 1985 coup that had strained the two generals' relationship.

"If we are to talk of coup plot, my government was toppled by generals. Does that mean I should continue to nurse grudges against many generals. That is not the best. We should forget our differences and unite so that the entire North would forge ahead," Gowon said.

Speaking in an Hausa service programme on the Voice of America (VOA) monitored in Kaduna, Gowon said the frosty relationship between the two former military rulers, as a result of the Babangida coup in 1985 could adversely affect the North.

Gowon, who is the chairman of the Board of Patrons of the Arewa Consultation Forum (ACF), advised the North to take unity serious, to regain the glory it enjoyed before the Nigerian civil war.

"If we are not working as one family, anything to the contrary would not augur well for us, we the Arewa people. That is the only way we can succeed. Every northerner, irrespective of religion or tribe, should unite and work for the socio-economic progress of the entire North," Gowon said.

Noting that the North was indeed bigger than any individual or group, Gowon called for the closing of flanks and mending of fences, so that in unity, the region could forge ahead.
