Fellows I would like to hear your opinion on this reporter been made the scapegoat of Obasanjo's incompetency in cracking down on this muslim hoodlums. This Day published the article in question, nobody forced them to publish it, many times Ruben Abati have insulted Igbos yet he still keep his job, so why should Ms Daniels be treated differently.

Does she deserve it, no; is she a political assert to Obasanjo to placate the goddamned bastardardized religious freaks, of course yes. Is she out of job, yes for now. She would most likely join the best and brightest Biafranigerians on exile for employment abroad. Just wait and see who will hire her, I betch ya, a foreign country or a local Newspaper of opposite attract. She has the talent and the brain as a writer. The looser here is THISDAY and Biafranigeria. At the same time, I am still waiting for Biafranigerian Journalist to back her up. My heart goes out for her. She is a role model to both defenders of free speech and women.
Hail Biafra

Isioma Daniel is a modern day heroine in an entity that lacked every sence of genuine Journalism, her article about the international beauty pageant in Biafranigeria was most objective and educative, at least she has been able to open the eyes of the world to Mr Obasanjo's impotency as far as leadership of a country is concerned. even the CNN anchor that reported the satanic (fatwah)on her by the taliban goverment of nigeria express a great deal of disappointment with his body movement while reporting the unfotunate news. on the final analysis, the begining of the end of nigeria is fastly emerging.

Okwy I completely agree with you whole heartedly, this is defintely the beginning of the fall of Nigeria. What Obasanjo did reminds me of what Dan Quayle did in his famous debate with Lloyed Bentsen during the 1988 Vice presidential debate. Quayle was asked if the Country face crisis what would he do? Quayle said he will pray first.
Biafranigeria was Burning all Obusonjo could do is to led a prayer group. Is there any more doubt why Nigeria is the she is. Haven help those who helped themselves. As for Ms Daniels let wait and see what steps her fellow Journalist will take.
I am so mad at all this that I have decided to relocate in the near future to help put that country to the right part to 21st century. I have a five year plan starting January 2003 to relocate to Igboland and start where my ancestors stopped. Somebody gotta do something and why not me. Any followers?

Below is a response posted in another forum that I belong to. I could not make a better arguement than the writer Emeka did. So i decided to just post his write-up. Please read.
Igbo mma mma nu,
As long as Ndi Igbo continue to sing "one nigeria", a song that died and was buried with Zik of Africa, Igbo will continue to be slaughtered in the millions by the Muslim fanatics who call the Islamic country of the british birthed abomination - nigeria, their personal property.
This abomination of a country, nigeria, a contraption that was treated with scorn by both Awolowo and Saduana of Sokoto, both, two of the three major founding fathers of abomination nigeria with Zik of Africa, the only one who believed in the fantasy called one nigeria, was founded on a foundation of lies, deceit and falsehood. This so called union of nations, an abomination of a country, is built on a foundation that is rotten to the core. This abomination died in 1947 when the first massacre of Igbo took place but our so called Igbo leaders where too blind to read the writing on the wall. Had they read the writing on the wall in 1953 (thousands of Igbo massacred), 1966 (100 thousand plus massacred), 1966 - 1970+ (more than five million massacred and starved or starved to death), 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, would not have happened!
We now have a case in which an elected official has called for the death of an Igbo daughter, and as usual our leaders and those of us in diaspora say nothing. WHERE ARE IGBO MEN? JUST WHAT IS IT THAT RUNS IN OUR VEINS? Are we now so scared that we can not even call this fool to order? Shame on all the "one nigerian Igbo" in our mist and shame on all those sitting on the side line - TUFIAKWA!
Biafra is the only solution.
Emeka.
I completely agree with Emeka.

Bitter TRUTH.
Please dont tell that to some fellows who told us in another thread not long ago that "the law" and "government" will pretect you when the murderers come calling.
A confused lady wrote about an event which non of the contestants touched their feet on Igbo soil and she is being ellivated to "heroine" status. You talk of misplaced crown.
biafra: Reuben Abati has every right to keep his job because he is a rebel with a cause - THE YORUBA CAUSE. On the other hand, Miss Isioma and others like her who think they can change Nigeria without starting from their village of origin have discovered rather belately that defending the hosting of beauty pageant (which is not one of Igbo's problem) is like Nzeribe defending a drowning President. They are both REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE. Like all rebels who did not define their cause BEFORE embarking on their battle, she has LOST. I pity her because she must have been listening to bad advisers like the ones we have on board.
How I wish she had studied the environment she was operating before embarking in what has turned out to be a sucide mission. Sadly, I warned those who think one joke fits every environment to know WHERE, HOW and WHEN to make their "Jokes."
It pains me that every time that the two-edged Nigerian sword is raised only Igbos will volunteer their head to be used as sacrificial lamb. When will we learn to let the Nigerian house built on desert sand to fall without we falling with it or it falling on us?

You are not alone. We've seen such scenarios reoccur over and over again with our so-called leaders doing practically nothing but become pacifists overnight.
Do not blame Isioma Daniel for her "volunteer" to write a story about the beauty pageant in which she expressed her views and opinions based on what she perceived of the evil religion called Islam, even though she wrote well of the Prophet Mohammed to have married one of the pageants if it was in his days. What's wrong with that? Mohammed as in Islam can practice polygamy, which of course he did.
Also, she may have not gotten her way to make a report for a very long time, thus taking advantage of the only opportunity she got hold of to make her presence known in the press. That did it. But the problem persists: If Igbos had had their own independent press with Igbo writers and journalists, they would not be subjects of caricature, intimidation and abuse in the media.
Before ever we can belong and be part of the press, we must establish our own propanganda machine to deter and counterpoint our rivalries. Until we start doing that, we will never be in business.
The case of Reuben Abati is a perfect example. He has insulted everybody in Igboland and got away with it because of our own lack of "axis press." Nduka Obaigbena, whom I know very well is out there for his own pocket. He doesn't care about Isioma Daniel who was on his payroll. He is concerned about commercial success, which is why This Day is still in business despite the owner's endorsement of Sani Abacha.
In order to do that, we must get rid of the old politicians who've got nothing to contribute but to cause more misery to the Igbo nation.

Isioma Daniel was rather taken as an excuse by evil men to unleash terror on innocent people than bein a confused person, in all fairness, the lady responded to her call to duty by giving her readers an insight and fair assesment of a great event that whould have taken place in the entity, I will include that, had I been a jounalist like her, I whould have done the same. Questions should be asked if the said article did not pass through the desk of the Thisday editor before publication. Reuben Abati allways write inciting articles against NdiIgbo, inturn, NdiIgbo respond in the same manner, by writting back and not resorting to violence. Nwa Aro, direct your anger to the terrorist and the only enemy to human development.
