To the native Americans no sport minus world soccer has more spectacle than football, American that is.To the man in the field, no sport offers greater glory-or greater pain. You must be a god, man and a gladiator, for he spends much of his time literally on the field with gears and gadgets. But when he breaks loose-ah! what can compare with that great moment?
BIAFRA AND NIGERIAN PLAYERS In literature, the theater moving pictures, the escape has a powerful hold upon the imagination of the average man. The story of dangers avoided and obstacles surmounted is one of which we football spectators never tire. Lawrence Taylor or LT, probably the finest line backer of the game earned a reputation for reducing the life expectancy of quaterbacks to a mere 2 years. He crushes their bones and thats what he is paid to to do, take them out or he will dinimish the position to sissy like.
The American game of football is such a story constantly enacted before our eyes. Ever since Christian Okoye of the Kansas City Chiefs [RB]and Sunday [kicker]of the Miami Dolphins in the 80's paved the way,BIAFRA AND NIGERIANS are becoming a household name in this gladiator sport where the name gods is cheerished. They are 4 or more well known starters of Biafra and Nigerian players in the National Football league. And they are indeed spectacular players. If you know of any player, share them in this forum. Our children would be able to look up to as role models in sports.
JERRY AZUNMA OF THE CHICAGO BEARS[LB] ] MD. KALU OF THE PHILADEPHIA EAGLES [RECEIVER] OKEAFOR OF THE 49NER'S [LB] ADEWALE OGUNLEYE OF THE MIAMI DOLPHINS [DE]

I don't know how many of you watched the Monday Night Football last night? Miami Dolphins destroyed Chicago bears to the max. Adewale Ogunleye was awesome as he sacked the quarterback twice. He was indeed spectacular although the commentator could not pronounce his name right just like they rest of the Biafra/Nigerians. Kalu is pronounced as karluu.

MD. Kalu of the Philadephia Eagles proved oncemore that he is a combination of Odogwu and Ogbunigwe combined. He was in my opinion the MVP against the Washington Redskins. He made plays and motivated his teammates.

You may call this weekend a showdown in "OK Corral" reflecting such gunslingers in the old west like Henry Fonda and "Doc Holiday" in gun battle with the reneged cowboys. Ok Corral is one stop for gunslingers, a movie there is, western style. This weekend is about football, another step to the "Super Bowl". Here they will slugg it out in different places like the old west. This is the month that wivies/partners [women] are abused, beaten and pre divorces. It is a season reflective of the wild wild west.
PROGNOSTICATORS
Have waged on New York Jets at the Super Bowl, equated them to the New England Petriots.
While Philadelphia and Oakland Raiders are predicted or unlikely not to play each other in the Super Bowl.
WEEKEND MATCH UP
PHILADEPHIA VS ATLANTA. A match up between the two most advanced prototypes in quaterbacking. Speed Vs Speed and Accuracy Vs Accuracy.
OAKLAND VS NEW YORK JETS. Chad Pennington, the youngest, profilic and new quaterback will duell it out with Gannon the 2002 MVP.
Titans Vs Steeler: Titans have won 10 straight out of 11. These two teams have made it to the super bowl before and failed. This will be their final shot to redeem themselves.
Tamper Vs Frisco. Well, everybody knows Tamper has failed to showcase their talent in the play off perhaps this time would be different. Frisco probably may not have the lucky chances with the Giants.
Whats your prediction and who do you wage over the other to the Super Bowl?

One BIAFRAN ........... nigerian has oncemore elevated his team to the next leg of Super Bowl Playoff. MD. KALU was indeed spectacular against the 22 year old Falcon quarterback on Saturday when he laid his team to a victory, a gaint step to the Super Bowl.
Titans were awesome but with 9 lives against the Steelers. They will face the winner of Oakland or Jets.
We have one more BIAFRAN ........ nigerian in the team. OKAEFOR will lead his 49ers against Tampa this Sunday.

The NFL has a long history of latent/potent discrimination against minorities. If there is any place I approve of affirmative action, NFL certainly is no exception. Discrimination has long been a traddition since inception. African Americans dominate the quarterback position in college campuses but not in NFL. They make up about 75% of the players in NFL with a miniscle number of two coaches compared to 37 teams. The underlying stereotype by the owners is that you have to be a leader to be a coach or a quarterback and minorities don't have the swing. Bull, some will say
Today, quarterbacking by African American in NFL is no longer an issue. But the most contested and contemptible issue is the number of minority coaches in NFL. Cincinnati Bengals, with the worst record in 2002, on Tuesday hired Marvin Lewis, an African American to head the team. Some held it as over due and some a progress. The number of coaches is now raised to only 3, still a national shame. FYI ONLY

Bookmakers are predicting that in a close encounter Al Davis' Oakland Raiders will be lifting the Vince Lombardi's Trophy on Super Bowl Sunday.
First, I don't like Davis for his exploitation of black athletes. On the other hand, the Buccaneers with a white quarterback destroyed my interest, but for Keyshawn Johnson, I'm going all the way for Tampa Bay.
A showdown of the two outstanding black quarterbacks--Philadelphia Eagles' Donovan McNabb and Tennessee Titans Steve McNair--would have been more interesting and a record thriller.

And you are wondering why blacks are not power brokers in today's NFL? In sports business, it takes money which is not taught, it takes access which is not taught and it takes productivity which is not taught, either. If blacks can see with their eyes the three collective items which they possess, they will be a formidable force, long-term, in NFL.

"BLACK QUARTERBACKS" AS OPPOSED TO QUARTERBACKS [WHITES]
No body wants to talk about it but it buzzes with racist overtone. Most whites use this term to perpertuate a particular typology in NFL. This term is used to differentiate between a tradditional quarterback which is white and African American who runs, throws and exposes himself to injury. I don't know the extent of this stignma but judging from the performances of Eagles quaterback, Atlanta, and Titans, it appears that this typology could indeed prove to be true. No "Black Quarterback" since Red skin's Doug Williams, now a coach at Grambling University has won the super bowl. Last week performance by Eagles quarterback with a home field advantage was terrible. Quarterbacks of African Americans may have to resort to throwing the ball rather than run, shoot and broken bones.
WHO WINS THE SUPER BOWL?
Defense [Tamper] Vs Offense [Oakland]
NO MVP has ever lost in the Super Bowl [Gannon] Tamper has a good defense, not strong enough against the Oakland offense laid by Gannon and other name brand like Jerry Rice. Oakland defense laid by Romaniski may prove to make the difference. However, for Oakland to win this game, they would have to by air. They don't have a good running game but great recievers. Keyshawn cannot do it all for Tamper and Upstat fumbles critical downs. Three players in Oakland have Super Bowl Rings none in Tamper. They know what it feels like to win.
If Oakland runs the ball, I give the edge to Tamper.

The Game is over, Oakland lost. Tony Dongy now Colts and former Tamper coach as of last year has formed a reputation of defense over offense, according to him, "The best Offense is the best Defense" . His Tamper defense crushed the Raiders to win the Sup.
It will be fair to say that John Grudden, Tamper coach is a lucky coach, he inherited Tony's logistics, defense. Tony has formed a very good reputation on this logistics and Colts is now rated the number two defense in the league. Bravo to Tamper for winning the Super Bowl. Tony Dongy is now vindicated.

BiafraNigeria should be proud that one of their American born will make it to the Pro Bowl--------------->OGUNLEYE of Miami Dolphins.
However, MD kalu of the Philly Eagles is the only player born of Biafran blood makes it to the play off and possibly to the Super Bowl.
