Folk it looks like the plott is thickening and the president of Biafranigeria the yoruba warlord Olisiego Obusonjo, is getting close to pressing the panic button. Yesterday Olisiego Obusonjo the man who is the most corrupt leader Biafranigeria ever had, who wrote a book on corruption. It looks like Chief Olisiego have started to see the handwriting on the wall that, he is not going to get a free ride this time around. president Olisiego yesterday held a two hours secret meeting with four AD Governors. I guess they were plotting strategy on how to return the warlord back Aso rock. The only difference this time around is that the Awusa and Igbo vote is guarranteed like in 1999.
So fellows what do you make of this Obusonjo's new found yoruba brotherhood.

Is there any question who is the perpetrator of violence in Biafranigeria?.....Obasanjo. The ban on OPC has not been lifted, they are still considered a criminal underground, banned by Obasanjo administration as a nuisiance and terrorist organization, detrimental to national security. The meeting between Obasanjo and OPC is ilegal and it is demonstrible of his lack of leadership and disrespect of the law. This is not an act of ignorance, it is wantonly and recklessly a total disregard for the law of the land. It is an insult to the constitution, if there is any. A very unclassy "president".
Hail Biafra

Brother Biafra, thanks for starting this thread. This is a develpoment that we who are interested in biafra actualization should exploit.
OPC is a registered and known terrorist organization, for obasonjo to form an alliance with this known terrorist organization shows the whole world that he(obasonjo) is insensitive to the cry of the whole world against terrorism. In this environment of hightened terrorism alert, obasonjo could not have picked the worst time meet with POC a registered terrorist group.
What we need to do is for BLM or the good writers in this forum to articulate the implications of OPC and obasonjo meeting to Biafranigeria in particular and USA/World in general. Such articulated writeup should be forwarded to the United States... State Department, the white house, and the congress. This will definetly work tom our advantage.
I will see to it that the above mentioned entities receive the information.

OBASANJO'S RE-ELECTION ALLIANCE : PDP concedes 10 ministerial slots to AD —30 ambassadorials too
By Emmanuel Aziken Sunday, February 16, 2003
More facts emerged weekend on the terms of the working relationship that will see Alliance for Democracy (AD) backing the presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Olusegun Obasanjo, in the April 19, presidential election.
AD officials told Sunday Vanguard that there were assurances that PDP would reciprocate their party’s gesture with about 10 ministerial appointments in the event that the coalition secures for Obasanjo another term in office.
There will be, in addition, 30 ambassadorial appointments and positions on the boards of government agencies and parastatals for AD in the PDP-led government.
Confirming the 10 ministerial slots AD hoped to get under Obasanjo’s second term, the party’s deputy national publicity secretary, Revd. Abubakar Manzo said in Abuja that the AD/PDP coalition was primarily to prevent what he described "as the fascist and anti-democratic All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) from taking power in the forthcoming elections".
Manzo dismissed the insinuation of an ethnic agenda by the Yoruba dominated AD to sustain their kinsman, Obasanjo, in power, saying the alliance was initiated by the party’s Middle-Belt caucus which, according to him, felt more comfortable with the presidency remaining in the South than returning to the North.
The opposition of the caucus to power returning to the north this year, the party official said, was informed by the thinking that the oligarchy which allegedly decimated the Middle Belt politically and economically over the years would once again be in the position to exercise power should power return to the north.
He explained that the alliance was worked out by a committee of four AD governors, representatives from each of the six geo-political zones, the party’s national legal adviser and the national secretary.
Manzo disclosed that the accord would empower the AD to be prepared to engage other political forces in the elections that would come after 2007.
"The AD has moved from the politics of resistance to that of governance which, given our pedigree, is a reflection of the many battles won in the principled stance against military dictatorship", the AD deputy spokesman stated.
On why AD did not seek an alliance with the ANPP with which it jointly fought the 1999 presidential election, Manzo dismissed the ANPP as a fascist party loaded with stone age democrats with an exclusivist agenda. "We have a strategic focus and ANPP is fascistic and intrinsically anti-democratic. It is not consistent with our purposes nor in the wider interest of Nigeria to have a political formation with an entrenched democratic deficit to assume state responsibilities at the centre", he pointed out.
Noting that the current ANPP is different from the party that forged alliance with AD in 1999, he stated: "We of the AD believe that the ANPP of today is very different from the APP of 1999 for the simple reason that the overwhelming majority of members of the apex leadership organ of the ANPP neither belong to nor subscribe to the earlier ethos ... what you have in place is a political contraption with stone age democrats and fascistic elements as lighting rods".
"ANPP has been re-invented and repositioned to execute an exclusivist agenda which essentially detracts from democratic imperatives and aspirations of Nigerians from across the social strata".
Sunday Vanguard gathered that the first steps to the AD/PDP accord were taken after Chief Audu Ogbeh assumed office as the latter party’s chairman and paid a courtesy visit to his AD counterpart, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir.

The latest development by PDP wooing AD is called sound political strategy which is the way to go to have Obasanjo reelected as it is becoming apparently clear that he would get a second term to complete his agenda and that of PDP. Just worry about 2007. For now, it's all over!

2003 ELECTIONS: RETURN OF DIASPORA NIGERIANS WILL BE PRIORITY FOR IKEMBA ADMINISTRATION
His Excellency, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Eze-Igbo Gburugburu, and APGA candidate for the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2003 national elections wishes to assure Nigerians in the Diaspora that a priority of his administration is to make Nigeria as attractive (possibly more attractive) as the foreign locations that have benefited from the unsettledness and discomforting insecurity that has drained Nigeria of some of its brightest and best brains. His Excellency will create an environment that will give every Nigerian in Diaspora reason to rethink continued stay abroad. Nigeria is where you belong, and His Excellency's goal is to facilitate your return. This is vital to our mission to rebuild Nigeria.
His Excellency is both elated and humbled by the overwhelming support he continues to receive from Nigerians and friends of Nigeria across the globe.
He notes that the irresistible temptation and desire to rule Nigeria by force is a consequence of the fact that the country was set up without reference to the uniqueness and peculiar circumstances of its federating units.
His Excellency assures everyone that this campaign is about the soul and future of Nigeria, a Nigeria where every Nigerian, including Ndi-Igbo, can and will feel equally and proudly at home. Mindful of the serious implications of this situation and the enormous responsibility it entails, His Excellency wishes to assure all Nigerians, of his resolve and commitment to making Nigeria the great country it has the capacity to be, the proud home we all deserve, and will not spare any effort to accomplish this goal.
After decades of missed opportunities and fumbled leadership, Nigerians deserve a leader that can bring their house in order. His Excellency assures all Nigerians that he has the capacity, intellect, will, discipline and resolve to be that leader.
Signed: Dr. Sunny Ugochukwu (Chief of Staff for Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu). Issued on February 5, 2003
His Excellency, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Eze-Igbo Gburugburu, presidential candidate for the APGA party in Nigeria?s 2003 national elections deeply appreciates the support and encouragement to his candidacy from individuals and groups all over the world
His Excellency requests all of his supporters, especially Nigerians and friends in the Diaspora, to understand that it is difficult (indeed impossible) for him to personally deal directly with each of them in their efforts. Beyond the physical demands, time is in very short supply between now and mid April when Nigerians go to the polls.
To this end, His Excellency has directed that all such contacts and communications be consolidated and channeled through a central office headed by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Sunny Ugochukwu. Please visit Ikembaonline.org for more information about the Ikemba 2003 Presidential campaign, or e-mail ikemba2003@ikembaonline.org.
Ladies and gentlemen,

As soon as Obasanjo opened his mouth people started leaving the stadium! Just what you get for renting a crowd. Even his pathetic attempt to apppear charismatic was described by the journalist as comic!
quote:Could the mass exodus be that the people were annoyed with Odili's praise singing speech and those of the other speakers or were they just waiting to see Obasanjo and not hear him speak or were they actually tired of waiting? Many questions.
Brother CSE,
To answer your question, the people abhor obasonjo to the point of not listening to him. How could they, this fool has not done anything for the benefit of the people in that stadium.
Even when they get paid to be present at the stadium they still don't want to hear anything he has to say. They all know him to be a liar who will say anything to get re-elected.
Obasonjo should be on notice that this election is going to be a big surprise to him unless he rigs the election.

How can he rig the election. The bloody spinless fool will always dance to the tune of the cabal that installed him. They'll either rigg him in or rigg him out. He has okayed sharia, he won't sign on shore/off shore bill, can't raise a finger against the blood thirsty almajiris, fired the auditor general who exposed currupt practices and replaced him with his yoruba kinsman, murdered thousands in odi..the list is endless. And this shameless buffoon wants to remain president...the clown surely doesn't understand what it means to occupy that post..kpssssuuu!. nuff said.
Those people that left probably had a good breakfast and didn't want to waste a good meal by vomitting it once Obasanjo start speaking. Have you heard that fool Obasanjo speak, brother if you have not had that unfortunate experience count yourself lucky.
On the serious note, the only way Obasanjo will get back to Aso Rock is by rigging his way there. If there is a free and fair election in Biafranigeria today, Obasanjo will lose in a landslide, that is what that mass exodus is all about.
Subject: Nigeria: OPC a Continuing Threat to Security
Embargoed for Release: Friday, February 28, 2003 At 00:01 GMT (For Friday's newspapers)
Nigeria: OPC a Continuing Threat to Security
(New York, February 28, 2003) ? Militia and vigilante violence continues to pose a real threat to security in Nigeria, especially in the period leading up to elections in April 2003, Human Rights Watch said in a new report released today. One of the more notorious groups is the O'odua People's Congress (OPC), an organization active in the southwest, which has killed or injured hundreds of people over the last few years.
The 58-page report, "The OPC: Fighting Violence with Violence," provides detailed accounts of killings and other abuses by the OPC since the government of President Olusegun Obasanjo came to power in 1999. An organization that promotes self determination for the Yoruba ethnic group, the OPC is also part ethnic militia and part vigilante group. It has cashed in on a growing sense of disenfranchisement among the population and has taken advantage of the inability of the police force to maintain law and order.
"Vigilante violence in many parts of Nigeria is an increasing problem," said Peter Takirambudde, executive director of the Africa division at Human Rights Watch. "The OPC is a particularly dangerous example of the phenomenon."
Some of these killings occurred in the context of ethnic conflicts, for example in the Idi-Araba area of Lagos in February 2002 when OPC members and other Yoruba clashed with members of the Hausa ethnic group and more than seventy people were killed. In one of the most serious incidents, in October 2000, more than 250 people were killed in Ajegunle (also in Lagos) as Yoruba and Hausa fought for several days; testimonies gathered by Human Rights Watch confirmed that the OPC had played a central role in the violence in Ajegunle. In other cases, OPC members publicly killed and mutilated alleged criminals in the course of their vigilante work. They have also attacked and killed policemen.
However, OPC members have been victims as well as perpetrators of human rights abuses. The report describes the brutal response of the police, which has resulted in the extrajudicial execution, arbitrary arrest, torture and prolonged pre-trial detention of hundreds of suspected OPC members. Police have frequently raided OPC meetings including in situations where there was no evidence that those present were engaged in criminal activity. Yet there have been few successful prosecutions of OPC members or their leaders responsible for the violence.
"Fighting violence with violence will not solve the problem," said Takirambudde. "On the contrary, it appears to have strengthened the resolve of the OPC to fight."
The report highlights the role of some state governments in supporting the OPC and in failing to publicly condemn the organization's use of violence. Some state governors have turned a blind eye to the OPC's acts of violence and attempted to justify using the group to fight crime on the basis that the police have been unable to do so. But whatever the weaknesses of the police force, government authorities have a responsibility to prevent the population from resorting to self-appointed vigilante groups that are known to engage in violence, Human Rights Watch said.
In 1999, President Obasanjo declared a ban on the OPC, which remains in force to this day, despite the absence of any legislation. Nevertheless, OPC members have openly provided security arrangements at public gatherings, including official events, such as the ceremony for the lying-in-state of former Minister of Justice and Attorney General Bola Ige, in January 2002, which was attended by many government officials, including President Obasanjo.
In recent months, there have been fewer reports of OPC violence, but the organization remains active and visible, and its leaders have not accepted responsibility for the serious abuses committed by their members.
"As pre-election violence is increasing across Nigeria, the OPC with its large mass membership represents a powerful force, which could be unleashed with disastrous consequences," said Takirambudde.
The report makes recommendations to the Nigerian government, including identifying and bringing to justice OPC members responsible for acts of violence, according to due process; issuing clear instructions to the police to respect the right to life and to refrain from excessive use of force; and reforming the police to ensure that it maintains law and order effectively, without carrying out systematic human rights violations.
Human Rights Watch also appealed to the leaders of the OPC to make clear to their members that acts of criminal violence will not be tolerated, and that abuses by the police, however serious, are never a justification for responding in kind. Because the OPC has a clear structure and chain of command, its leaders should be held responsible for the actions of their members, and OPC leaders should refrain from making any statements that could encourage violence.
"If the organization is claiming to fight crime, it should cooperate with the police and hand over any suspected criminal," said Takirambudde. "Under no circumstances should vigilante groups dispense their own form of justice."
During the embargo period, the report will be available online at http://docs.hrw.org/embargo/ nigeria0203/ with the username: 'nigeria' and the access-code: 'violence2k3'.

Kanu appeal in torso case The Arsenal footballer Nwankwo Kanu has appealed for information to help solve the murder of a young Nigerian boy whose mutilated body was found in the River Thames. Scotland Yard detectives are in Nigeria trying to establish the boy's identity.
They will be taking a videotaped message from the Nigerian footballer to villages in the south-western area of the country in the hope that it will persuade people to help with their murder inquiry.
Football is a passion in Nigeria and the British police officers hope that Kanu's endorsement of their work will be influential.
Ritual killing
They believe that the young boy - named Adam by detectives - was between four and seven years old.
His dismembered body was found in the London river 18 months ago and police have said he may have been killed during some kind of ritual ceremony.
Forensic evidence suggests the boy had strong links with a rural area in south-western Nigeria between Benin City and Ibadan, which is a 100-mile by 50-mile corridor.
On Friday the two Scotland Yard detectives will be meeting the head of Nigeria's police force, who will tell them that the abduction of young children for ritual killings happens in all parts of the country.
The cases are rarely solved, although there has been one successful prosecution recently, due largely to the persistence of the abducted boy's mother.
A £50,000 reward is on offer for information leading to the conviction of Adam's killers.
A second reward of £2,500, in local currency, is being offered for information leading to his identification.
Last year former South African president Nelson Mandela made an appeal for information which was translated into Yoruba, the local language, and posters went up in the area.

Obasanjo once said that over ten thousand unfurtunate deaths are marginal and normal in a country of one hundred and twenty million, it was also his pleasure to ask the CNN anchor to show him the satistics on the dead Biafranigerians, the bottom line is that Obasanjo is such a crude and bruthal mind with no normal human feelings, the death of a million people can never move him not to talk of a particular single kid.
