The news coming out of BiafraNigeria indicates the 2003 elections are headed for the rocks. There is a great possibility the North and East will not participate any further with the introduction of military personnel into the scene to harrass opposition surporters. Even the foreign press is begining to confirm what we have been hearing from home, Soldiers man polling booths
The target is apparently APGA, Udi is the home of Agballah APGA's gubernatorial candidate. Question is what should Ndigbo do now ? I am fully in support of a mass boycott so as not to legitimize this charade.

It appears that Olusegun Obasanjo has finally struck out after a series of arrogant actions against the nations of BiafraNigeria. What we see playing out now is the final stages of the death wish he has written for himself when he chose to rig this selection process. Unfortunately, Olusegun Obasanjo is too blinded by a false sense of power and foreign security guarantees around him to see he's sunk really deep into his own hole.
If this man thinks he's smart enough to pull off a re-selection into office through fraud, I wish him good luck. But it is clear he has over-played his hands; the consequences of his actions are certain as night and day.

There is a mean spirited attempt at genocide in ala Igbo by the PDP, soldiers are on their way to commit mass murder in Onitsha. --------------------------------------------------
Labour seeks cancellation of Anambra polls, as protest rocks Onitsha From Uzoma Nzeagwu, Awka
FOLLOWING what it called "massive manipulation", the Anambra state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called for the cancellation of last Saturday's polls in the state.
Relatedly, a protest against the polls yesterday erupted in Onitsha, leading to disruption in economic activities in most part of the commercial city.
An NLC statement made available to The Guardian in Awka, accused the INEC in the state of negligence and dereliction of duty.
The statement, which was signed by the local NLC chairman, Charles Onyeagba and the secretary, Ositadinma Edozie, noted that the results were heavily manipulated as voters preference was not reflected in the figures.
It also noted that elections did not hold in many places like Oyi, Ogbaru, Anambra East and West etc; and that where it held at all, voting started after 3 p.m such as recorded in Awka, Onitsha, Nkpor etc.
It also stated that result sheets were not available in most polling stations, even as they were found in the hands of some politicians, while electoral officials, particularly presiding officers were not in most polling stations.
The statement further said that violence and disruption of voting marred elections in many places, including Nimo, Achalla and Nkpor, where a notable party official allegedly made away with ballot boxes and voting materials.
Although, Onyeagba explained that the state NLC received the results of some polling stations, where voting took place, he regretted that the voting pattern was not reflected as announced by INEC.
He added that "the voters preference was not reflected in the results so far released by INEC in Anambra state," and therefore, urged for a rescheduled and proper conduct of the National Assembly elections in the state.
At Onitsha yesterday, there was mass protest by some groups in reaction to last Saturday's election results.
According to a source, Awka road, old market road and Inland town, Onitsha, were the trouble spots, where people trooped to the streets chanting war songs while traffic came to halt and business activities disrupted for few hours.
As at press time, the protest was still going on while soldiers were seen heading for Onitsha from the Enugu - Onitsha expressway. However, no casualty has been reported as at press time, as traffic leading into the city was held up at Zik's roundabout.

Now just observe how the Army will claim "Self defense" and recieve glowing reccomendations from OBJ, Tafa Balogun, Guardian Newspaper, ThisdayOnline(I still dont buy their fairness of reporting Igbo matters. never have, never will.) etc. for their restrained actions and for ensuring "fewer deaths than expected" of the usual suspects.
Even as we speak, Abati on behalf of Aremu is schmoozing his coleague Salim Ahmed Salim (or so) to render the usual observations in the usual way to avoid the shiit hitting the fan.
This Character Salim is a UN official of a monitoring body currently observing the elections and passing comments such as " relatively democratic and peaceful". An African American chap in the mould of Farrakhan, there would be no doubt he has been well paid to legitimise Nigerian image at all cost, especially that of this Administration. Before that he used to appear on Public TV to commend the Abacha regime in much the same way.
These are the extents which these people will go to retain power even in the face of profound ineptitude, brazen and unparalleled wickedness.

What do you then make of Buhari's threat to institute anarchy in the event he loses the election, rather than due process of the law?

U.K,
I am not a great fan of Buhari as you may have surmised, If you were Hausa though, you should be, but I know You're not. Being a Muslim though you should desire him in power so he can implement Sharia for you as proven by his utterances, but you dont. All because as a Yoruba, Aremu's ineptitude and buffoonery is better any day than the potential discipline and order a fellow Muslim can bring about. How hyppocritical!
Now on your Muslim word of honor, show me where Buhari stated thusly:
"I will institute anarchy in the event I lose the election"
Remember that whatever answer you provide on this board and however you choose to interprete any insinuations, or the implications of his comments, no less than Adesanya, Osoba, Fawehinmi and many others have stated the very same, so be a good Muslim and be honest!!!
