'Forts Military Riffraffs' Renamed: Jealous Obasanjo Deletes, Gowon, IBB, and Abacha from Barracks

Obusonjo has renamed barracks and military facilities previously bearing the names of Gowon, IBB, and Abacha. Is this pettiness or is it motivated by a genuine desire to do the right thing?
quote:
 -
Stories have it that this exercise was vendetta against Abacha, and that Obasanjo was only going to rename the barracks bearing Abacha's name, but the Yoruba June 12 front pressured him to include IBB, and to please the core-North, he added Gowon. More ... Did Obusonjo do the right thing for the wrong reasons?

Odester,

Me thinks that the move is good, I just wish that the Governors from the SouthEast and Igbo Speaking parts of SouthSouth will take a glue and remove military hausa names from all streets and establishments in Igboland. Can you image parks that Dr. Okpara built b4 the war bearing the name of Murtala Mohammed thanks to his hausa military governor brothers or even a major street in Enugu bearing the name of that middle belt coupist Bisala.

I'm really impressed with your new attitude which is a great deal of improvement on your side to know that those riffraffs who bastardized the country will one day get their own judgement including the bigot Obasanjo.

I would like to see Murtala Mohammed Airtport renamed Lagos International Airport. What did that killer do to earn an airport in his name? [Efulefu Smash]

Mbakwe didn't even need to think for a nanosecond before he wiped out the name of bloody Murtalla mohammed, the butcher of Asaba from the Specialist hospital Umuahia.

After the Awo debate at old egbeomo, I decided to call my toilet seat Aremu's neck and the U-bend Awo's nose since the Yoruba deride HE DIM Ojukwu in reference to their cooking pot. [Efulefu Smash]

Obasanjo is an enemy of the North using all possible means to invade and remove all northern bearing names in the nation's landmark.

The irony is that he did not bother to make any contact with the Northern leaders before making the decision which is a clear signal of personal vendetta. He has bitten the fingers that fed him.

I guess Aremu and Anenih have discovered the "Opiate of the masses" (and it aint religion)

Just when it seems catastrophe is about to happen, make some symbollic gesture, (change the subject) just rename a few insignificant barracks

Never mind that your administration is criminal and illegitimate. And your house is burning.

Anyway, I agree with Manpikin and Ednut for once. It is all good, and will remain so when the dust clears.

OU that was good. you just gave me a new idea. Hope you're keeping well my bro. apart from just a few kinks here and there, I am.

Ukaobasi:

Thanks for asking after me. I'm very well but maybe too busy with grey hair to show for it. I could do with a long holiday to my village. Good to know you're keeping well and holding the forte. OOOPs, did I just say forte? Abeg, I didn't mean one of the riffraff forts!

Peace!

Manpikin;
There we go agian, so renaming military forte's is the Biafranigerian problems of today, your Obasanjo and Yoruba should address your leadership incompetence, tribalism, stupidity and stop harassing Nigerians with irrelivant issues, now is not the time to talk about street and barrack names, I do not mind if the street to my house in the village is named after Maitama Sule so far the taps are running and eletricity constant, you have to be preoccupied with the impending doom. who told you that the we the odinary citizens are interested in the names of military barracks. to hell, you and obasanjo with loudable works of street name changing.

Barracks have beeb renamed! Hurray!.

Now we can live without fear of armed robber.

We can be happy knowing that we will no longer be owed or wages.

The Naira is now trading at 100 to 1$ or better still 1 to the dollar.

All the problems of the Niger Delta have disappeared.

The post election impending anarchy has been aborted.

The road network in BiafraNigeria have suddenly improved.

Past rulers of our country must be cussing why they did not think of it. Just rename a few barracks and all our problems will be solved.
I can at this moment picture Dogo saying to his fellow soldier, nah Why I go plan coup? I no want make them rename the barracks wey them go name after me.

OU,

Good to read your post, I hear you on that grey hair stuff, but I dont know if you guys in Jandon are going thru the kind of decimation of the economy Dubya is giving us over here.

In fact all I seem to be hearing these days is that Y'alls Euro is kicking butt everywhere.

Must be nice.
God bless, my brother.

Wacko, that was funny! but on the money.

I am really impressed with the new Ednut, yes you are right Okpara will probably turn in his grave, for seeing that park changed.

OU
you beat me to it, I was overjoyed when De Sam changed back the Hospital in Umuahia back to Queen Elizabeth specialist, from Ramat Specialist. I wish Orji Kalu can change it back to an Igbo name though.

General Tommy Franks, a remarkable/Brilliant four star General is retiring. In Biafranigeria, they are forced to retire by the barrel of the gun [coup] or never retire.
