EU, Mugabe, Obasanjo and the future of Nigeria
quote:
The European Union (EU) yesterday congratulated President Olusegun Obasanjo on his re-election for a second term." Http://www.thisdayonline.com/archive/2003/05/15/20030515news06.html

Last presidential Election in Zimbabwe was judged by the EU as unfair and not free. Consequently, Mugabe and his ministers have been banned from travelling to Europe.

Obasanjo used the police and the army to rig last elections in Nigeria. This has been confirmed by many national and international organisation., including representatives from the European union.

Obasanjo has less than two weeks to the end of his term as the legitimate president of Nigeria. After that Nigerians would ask him to go. If Obasanjo stays one extra day without cancelling the elections and without being restricted from travelling to Europe, then it confirms what many have been thinking: the European think that democracy is only good for white people.

Nigerians should be careful not to accept it, needless complaining in the future for things that could have been solved today. If Nigeria accept to rigged elections in Nigeria, they should not complain when decisions concerning Nigeria are taken by foreign powers: importation of electricity, managers for NITEL, fuel, etc.
