Air workers celebrate Chikwe’s exit By Balarabe Oshiafi

Airways workers filed out en masse to celebrate the change in leadership of Nigeria’s Aviation Ministry in Lagos yesterday.
For over one hour, in the premises of the Nigeria Airways, the workers in their thousands danced and sang songs in celebration of the exit of the immediate past Minister of Aviation, Dr Kema Chikwe.
To them, her exit signified the deliverance of the sector from “the claws of the devil.”
The President of the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Comrade Corman Clever Nnorom, in an exclusive interview shortly after the protest, noted that the aviation industry under the leadership of Chikwe experienced untold retardation which has sent the sector to the doldrums.
“While I am not quick to mention names, it is evident from the various inscriptions on the many placards that workers are displaying that they are not pleased with the state of affairs in the ministry.
“To be practically true, the leadership of the ministry in the last four years, ran the industry aground. Apart from undue interference in the running of the affairs of the airways, resources were grossly mismanaged.”
For the distant watcher, it was like the usual protest match workers often engage in when they are aggrieved. But as many sang and voiced out, the outing was “a celebration of freedom”.
A staff of Nigeria Airways who spoke on the condition of anonymity said “Chikwe’s style casts serious doubt on women’s ability to lead. Her attitude does not resemble that of women who are normally known to be soft hearted and caring. It’s like she is heartless”.
Some of the placards bore such wordings as: “Kema Chikwe’s exit: Good riddance to bad rubbish” ; “Thank God for this change, workers have been longing for it”; “We say no to all forms of industrial slavery, we demand better working conditions.”
On workers strategies that will ensure that a leader who will meet their aspirations take over the affairs of the aviation industry, Nnorom had this to say:“We are determined to push out any incompetent minister this time around. We want a minister who is a trained aviator. The person must be knowledgeable in aviation matters. He must also be willing to serve the interest of workers”.

Both of you must have been under a cave so can't read or must not have been reading the utterances of the BITCH about Ojukwu as Chiboy pointed out and others of Igbo extraction.
