Tijani,
One can only imagine with your limitations the sweat-beads down your forehead from thinking out and articulating the statement above.
Stay safe. Dont venture out of your one-line comfort zone. You dont need to subject your brain to unnecessary stress and strain.
Kudos for effort though.

The incident in Anambra was of shock value to me because it is actually what happens in Yoruba land. It is a clear and further prove that APGA and the entire election in Eastern region was rigged. It was rigged and perforated with a promisory check of 3billion Nigerian money. One can only wonder why Ngige with no name recorgnition entered the Governorship race very late and won by a wide margin. However, that is no grounds for any private citizen to take laws into their hands by hostile removal of an "elected official" Nigeria is yet to show respect of the law and this is a true taste.

Ukaobasi is doing an excellent job compiling the pieces of writing related to this debacle. Here is a copy of the infamous letter of resignation that Ngige allegedly signed.

How could You accuse me of reading meaning into your intentions? Your intentions you have yourself displayed in your writings for all to see, even though in the most well meaning way.
"Nigeria" is not our country!!! Our people reside in Nigeria and have done so ever since the British created it. Insofar as other residents have a right to participate in managing and running it, so do Igbo, if only to ensure that our continued development and progress as a people is not hampered in anyway while we seek a healthy dissolution of what the British imposed.
If you can understand this as a practical comment and not an esoteric ideal, then your notion about OUR INTENTIONS AT BNW will begin to be replaced by a healthier understanding of the sincerity required to make the kind of changes that can make it possible for us to interact healthily as neighbors and potential future countrymen.
While we all suffered collectively from military misrule, a civilian govts introduction of bad tendencies should be condemned not only in words, but in action.
I do not share the idea that your condemnation of Aremu in this Anambra debacle can be capable of sincerity because your previously stated toleration of illegality on his part, contradicts the possibility that your current condemnation is intended to have any practical impact beyond words.
Irewelle,
Thanks for the profound expression of solidarity.
Being an Igbo from Imo state, I dont think though that you wish that what happened in Anambra state should have happened in Edo and/or Delta states, because it is already happening in the internecine wars between Itshekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo, and has sometimes crept into bini and Ijaw boundaries undeterred.
What happened, whether it be rigging of elections, "fuel price hike" rampant political assasinations, "civilian coups" interethnic killings and strife etc. are all symptoms of a criminal govt which has subverted the will of the people with an evil purpose in mind and has succeeded through exploitation of natural ethnic differences and sheer corruption to coerce the silence and acquiescence of many of their victims.
When Igbos speak out or express their displeasure and impatience at being forced to remain in such a system involuntarily, many rise to label it as "unpatriotic" a high praise which we accept with great pride of acievement.
Unfortunately when incidents such as what I now dub the Anambra debacle occur, many are quick to view it with misplaced empathy as mutually shared isolated incidents.
This cannot be further from the truth.

Thanks for the compliment and the pasting of that forged document for all to see.
Even the 419 letters I recieve in my fax or e-mail soliciting business partnership have proven to be more imaginative.
The State governor supposedly resigned because of "pieces of advice"
Whether that letter had been signed by a forger or by Ngige under duress, the shady dealings through which Ngige alligned himself to attain power definitely tells me that his newly discovered principles exibited under the sheer pressure to survive is a purely temporary thing. In other words, he has the makings of a shrewd politician.
This is altogether a bad thing for Igbo at this time of our need for good leadership.
For Ngige, now that Chris Ubah is renouncing having demanded 3billion from him, I say he should get a signed statement to that effect (talk about debt cancellation) and consider his fraudulent rise to governorship "free".
If Aremu/Ubahs henchmen dont ambush and eliminate him mysteriously at some point that is.

As Bola Tinubu has been calling for, I am sure that a state police force controlled by the chief executive could have prevented this coup in Anambra State.
In the Vanguard:
"EMBATTLED Gov. Chris Ngige of Anambra State alleged, weekend, that he indeed signed, although under duress, a cheque of N3 billion for his erstwhile political godfather, Chief Chris Uba, and another letter authorising Uba’s company to be paid N870 million over a period of 87 months in respect of contracts he is executing for government.
Gov. Ngige who recounted his ordeal in the hands of Chief Uba and a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Chuma Nzeribe, since his inauguration last May, said the duo held him hostage on several occasions, threatening his life with a view to signing the cheque and the letter. Besides, he said the duo had practically hijacked the running of the affairs of the state. At some point, he said, they retired 52 civil servants and redeployed permanent secretaries without his knowledge. "
An ordinary citizen of the state like Uba could not harass the state governor if we had state police force.

We know for certain now that even before he "won" the election Ngige sold the people of Anambra to his godfather(s). We know that Ngige went on to give money to his godfather from Anambra state coffers. Ngige himself admits that he handed over three billion Naira to Chris Uba, money Ngige stole from the people of Anambra.
If the money was paid to Chris Uba under duress, Ngige did not report it to the people of Anambra State when he was freed by Uba. He waited until he was captured by the Uba and Obasanjo thugs and after they came close to driving him from office.
It is shameful that those governors are making solidarity visits to Anambra. I have also seen some jobbers in Diaspora condemning Chris Uba, but failing to call Ngige the fraudster that he is.

Below is a picture of the crafty, scheming, opportunistic scoundrel, who would be king by robbing the people of their vote and stealing from same to payoff his usurpation:
In the past few days he has bawled out his story to whoever would listen, embelishing in some cases for effect, and in others revealing jaw dropping intrigues of which he now exonerates himself as a hapless victim "under duress".
Below is the latest statement from the true winner of the peoples mandate:
I get the funny feeling Ngige has gotten away with more serious murder than meets the eye for his complicity. Anambrarians must therefore subject him to the harshest scrutiny throughout his term. This is a sad shame.

Yinka Chukwuemeka o. ojukwu (the peoples general) is from the village of umudim in nnewi of anambra state. He is a very decent person when it comes to respect for the law. There is no way he will be part of the incidence that took place in anambra state (Oluwa ma je). I doubt if there is any other igbo person that holds his people as dear as emeka ojukwu does. emeka ojukwu is his people general, he deserved and earned it. Do not worry about the igbo basket mouths we have at this forum. when npp lost elections it was awolowo’s fault. when we rejected uncle segun and they all voted for him, pa awo made them do that. when mbadinuju was killing his people with bakasi boys, pa awo did that from the grave too.

Now, they have aimed their attack on the deputy governor for assuming control of Anambra during the five hours that Ngige was missing. Is it not a matter of fact that the Police in the East are controlled from Aso Rock? We know additionally that it was not Atiku that sent Ige to kidnap Ngige. It was on the orders of Atiku that Ngige was restored. That leaves only one other resident of Aso Rock with the sort of power that saw a governor kidnapped.
But, as usual, most of the scapegoats for this debacle will be Igbo. First it was the Speaker of the Anambra House. Now, it is the Deputy Governor. There will be more.
And, Ige? He was only a few days to retirement anyway. So, where is his punishment, and the punishment for Tafa Balogun, and the punishment for Obasanjo, etc?

Idowu Ogbo, we understand, and it is all good.

One needs to look no further than Obasanjo as the originator of the plot. The question we should all be asking is what is the motivation? Now I know Aremu would not give up an opportunity to humiliate Ndigbo, but has he not already done enough of that by flaunting his emperor status in Igboland with the Wabara saga ? So there has to be more.
As the dust settles possible explanations are begining to emerge, and most centre on one mans insatiable quest for power. Again Nnanna Ocherome has done a fearless job at trying to unravell this so called coup. Anambra Coup the real issues
Of course one can only agree in total with him on the reactions of the yellow press and their derision of "Indigbo",however he touches more vital points which I shall highlight below
" The initial impulse to vent vapours upon Uba, AIG Ige and others, on second thought, is found partially misplaced. They and other conspirators in this unpleasant drama were just hirelings and role players. But to the extent that they made themselves available to be used for their respective roles, they would share in the legal and moral indictment that are due to all who participated in the conspiracy to derail democracy in Nigeria. One is left with the conclusion that the sponsor of this unpatriotic drama had (and still has) as his objective the derailment of constitutional and multi-party democracy in Nigeria to achieve the long canvassed one-party dictatorship and perhaps life presidency. These are ideals which General Olusegun Obasanjo has, for decades, openly canvassed as his own model for Nigeria. Anambra State could very well have been an experiment."
Voila!! so now where are the defendants of our "nascent" democracy, the Mbangs and Oshiomhole's? It even gets clearer as one reads along
" This line of thinking supposes that the police action in Anambra State was meant to test the waters and see the level of heat the unconstitutional taming of the governors would generate and if it is something the agents of coercion can easily handle. If the experiment succeeded, then the state level of constitutional authority would have also been overcome. Many governors would learn from the precedent or face similar fate. The governors have seen through this threat facing them as a collective and this is probably why they have rallied round their brother governor, Ngige."
All hail the new emperor, our "nascent democracy has taken roots!! but what fruits shall it bear? Your guess is as good as mine, over to you guys.

I will expose PDP, expelled member threatens In Anambra, Politics is business, says Odunze
he crisis surrounding the abduction and attempt to remove from office of the Anambra State Governor, Chris Ngige heightened in dramatic tenor yesterday with key characters in the saga presenting heaps of documents and video tapes as evidence that Ngige had actually resigned several times even before he was ever sworn in as Governor.
It was all at the sitting of the Senate Special Ad-hoc Committee investigating the Anambra crises.
According to the dramatics personae, led by the State Deputy Governor, Okey Udeh and business mogul Chris Uba, Ngige's refusal to resign after being sworn in was a breach of agreements reached before his swearing in, which included the swearing to an oath at a local shrine.
In fact, one member of the group and a member of the House of Representatives Mr. Chuma Nzeribe threatened that should Ngige continue to malign the group that facilitated his ascension to governorship power, the group might be forced to "wash the dirty linen" of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in public.
"I have graphic details of how we won and how we didn't win the elections in Anambra," state, Nzeribe declared.
The group of eight not only regaled Senators and journalists with stories of how Ngige signed three letters of resignation within three months, they also played two separate video tapes purportedly showing the governor resigning his appointment.
Other members of the group in the National Assembly are former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mrs. Euchari Azodo, Senator Ikechukwu Abanah; former Special Adviser to Governor Ngige on Special Duties, Chief Okey Odunze; former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mr. Uchena Emordi.
Among others, the Senate Committee is to investigate the role played by the police and other parties in the Anambra crisis. The committee which has two weeks to submit its report to the Senate, is to apportion blames, investigate the immediate and remote causes of the crisis and suggest ways to forestall such other incidents.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Okechukwu Udeh told the committee, headed by Professor Oserhiemen Osunbor, that the events that led to Ngige becoming governor began in September 2002 at the World Igbo Congress which held at Houston, Texas, United States of America.
He enumerated how at several meetings among the party caucus led by Mr. Chris Uba, it was agreed that Ngige be put forward. In spite of numerous breaches of agreement by Ngige, the Deputy Governor said he continually pleaded with the group to allow the governor to run.
More than twice, he said, the governor resigned as the PDP gubernatorial candidate, again as Governor-elect to reassure the group he could be trusted adding that the governor even told him he was going to swear at a shrine to assure the group.
His attempts, he said, to discourage Ngige failed. "I went to our leader, Chris Uba, to ask him if he was aware that Dr. Ngige was going to swear at the shrine, Uba said no," Udeh added.
Senator Abanah even told the Senate Committee that if Ngige was brought before the senate with all of them present, he would not deny that he swore at a shrine to abide by agreements he reached.
House of Representative member, Nzeribe, accused the governor of "character flaws" that bordered on changing his positions on agreed issues, adding that as the group continued to work for him, the Governor (Ngige) kept meeting the group's enemies to sabotage its efforts.
Even though Uba denied presenting the governor with a list of commissioners and other aides, Nzeribe explained that the group insisted on the appointees because the governor had signed a letter of resignation and the group was merely waiting for him to resign so it could take over.
Both Senator Abana and Chuma Nzeribe denied being in Anambra Government House when the Governor was "abducted",
But they admitted being in Anambra State on July 10 2003 when the drama took place as the Election Tribunal handling cases of their election was sitting that day.
After perusing the undated letters of resignation presented to the Senate committee, Senator David Bonaventure Alechenu Mark (Benue) wanted to know why it took 24 hours after Ngige signed his last letter of resignation for the state House of Assembly, the police and others to put into effect the process of replacing him with the Deputy Governor.
Then followed a pin-drop silence and no answer came from the group.
The Senate Committee and journalists also watched two separate video tapes, one with Ngige and Chris Uba, of the Governor's reported resignation.
Almost everyone in the group insisted that despite the governor's denial that he did not resign, he told the PDP National Working Committee that he indeed signed the letters of resignation attributed to him. They denied asking Ngige to refund money spent on his campaigns but promised to make more revelations in camera without journalists present.
In fact, Okey Odunze promised to give details "in camera" of the "deals" reached to bring Ngige in as governor adding that in Anambra State, politics is run like business deals.
Members of the Senate Committee include, Senators David Mark, Saidu Dansadau, T.O. Olupitan, Faruk bello, Nuhu Aliyu and Ken Nnamani and Bala Adamu.
The Committee later went into a closed-door session.
However, Ngige also yesterday petitioned President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Inspector General of Police, Tafa Balogun, urging them to institute a highpowered inquiry into the matter to ensure justice, describing his abduction as a "desecration of my office under the pretext of purported resignation."
He denied the resignation story, saying "I wish to state categorically that at no time did I contemplate resigning my elected office and I do not intend to resign."

You know truth is stranger than fiction when the President of a nation is knee deep in treasonable felony and his co conspirators and errandboys are both the investigators and the criminals, as in "its a party affair"
The following quotes from the full text news item provided by Okwyonwuka says it all:
quote:In fact, one member of the group and a member of the House of Representatives Mr.
APGA's election victory has been confirmed by the footsoldiers who facilitated the crime at the crime scene. Chuma Nzeribe is now a marked man by Aremu.

Ukaobasi, those were my sentiments exactly. Very soon they will reveal in greater detail how they thwarted the wishes of Anambra ppl. I hope they'd be ostracized and shunned by all Igbo ppl so they'd remain vagabonds for the rest of their lives. Meanwhile Ngige is a viscious crook now playing the victim. He is no different from that foolish gangster chris Uba. He should resign and hand over the governorship to Peter Obi the rightful winner.

This is one of those strange things that when you hear about it, you sometimes do not know how best to react to it.
It is becoming transparently clear that there is no limit to the mind-staggering activities that one could read about Nigeria. This drama is still unfolding. We will yet see how everything will finally fall into place.
If you have observed however, it does seem that in a rush to condemn the undemocratic actions of Chris Uba, Rafael Ige and Mrs. Azodo amongst others, most people have spared the governor a sizeable portion of the blame. Perhaps they are commiserating with him on account of his mysterious disappearance and also because it does appear as if there was a massive conspiracy by certain highly placed persons to oust him from power. It could be that a lot of people are encouraging what they see as a change in the governor for the good. It could also be that some view his ‘courage’ (to take on his well-connected, affluent but diabolical sponsors) as a precursor to the great things that will eventually happen to Anambra State.
Whatever the case may be, I still think that he that dines with the devil should be ready for the sorrows that come with such a venture. If anything, this has helped to show how that Ngige’s surprising victory at the gubernatorial polls could be not because he truly won the mandate of the Anambra people but that his friends in high places fixed the election result! Whilst we scream for justice concerning the despicable vermin that hatched and executed this singularly disgusting deed, let us take a moment to reflect on the double-crossing, double-speaking, dishonorable man in the person of Dr Chris Ngige—a man whom, it must be made clear, was bold enough to partner with the abhorrent Chris Uba in stealing the elections; a man who later admitted that he actually did sign the letter that was reputed to have been FORGED; a man who later admitted that of a truth he did sign away N960 million and later N3 billion contrary to the self-righteous charade we read a few days ago. But most pathetic must be the fact that here is a man given to argumentum misericordiaes if and when it appears that he might have lost the intestinal fortitude to make good on his promises.
As Nigerians all over the country have risen unanimously to condemn the actors in this brazen attempt to truncate democracy by demanding that the culprits be arraigned before the law courts and jail terms be served as necessary, one can only hope that this governor, who has recently found it fashionable to make statements and adopt postures that brings to mind the image of the ‘silent suffering saint’ has learnt the all important lesson of the consequences that might follow if one attempts to subvert the will of the people. Let us cross our fingers and see what might yet happen especially how he intends to make his tenure as the governor of Anambra state a less painful experience when compared to his wretched, roguish predecessor!
In the latest news on the civilian coup by Aremu (Clean hands), I could'nt help noticing a recurring theme, mainly that: The coup was busted by providence. Checkout this excerpt:
If Ngige had'nt gotten Ogbulafor by chance in Eddie Iroh's prescence by even greater chance, Iroh's publicising of the conversation live would'nt have brought embarrassment on Atiku (possibly to a lesser extent involved) and Tafa Balogun causing them to scuttle around for plan B. Now watch how speedily Eddie Iroh will be transferred or removed with flimsy excuses for acting with initiative(on the other hand he may also now be subjected to suppress even worse atrocities by Aremu as a favor to keep his job).
In other words why did'nt you call me with your impounded office phone or mobile phone Or, why didn't you call me once you gained separation from Ige in the hotel room, so I can inform Tafa to order Ige to accidentally burn down that room (Odi commando style)?
After this meeting, of course Remi Oyo would know better than to admit Aremu met Ngige to discuss such.
Now, after much evidence has been destroyed by Bode George and Tafa Balogun and Igbo sellouts at PDP sent by Adolphus Aremu Wabara and his Chief press secretary Henry(Igbophobe mole grade 1)Ugbolue who originally included the name of Chuma Nzeribe on the fact finding mission, Audu Ogbeh is now softpedalling on ;"its a PDP affair"
Funny, funny, funny.

If Tafa Balogun had been previously been under suspicion requiring absolution by Ogbeh, Why was Tafa Balogun allowed in the first place to appoint himself head of a “crack team” (more like high on crack team) that went on a fact finding mission in Anambra to start with?
Presidency and Justice ministry disagree on status of Anambra Crisis.
Here is one of those deliberate delay tactic charades where the impression of a discord between two branches of the same illegitimate govt is being created to give the impression of a due dilligent pursuit of the Truth, the predictable result of
