By the time the press is done with him, he will give up his dreams of becoming the Conan the Govarian. Oneliners will not get you into government house, unless most of the voters are like Mota Ogallala.

I have something for you. Ventura, a Navy Seal was able to beat political pundits hands down in Minnesota without sweating it. Anold "Swazinegro," a body builder from Austria with "no formal education" is bound to do the same in California. If Gary Coleman, Larry Flint, and the prostitutes are running, what's wrong with Arnold in the race for governor? Oneliner voters did it in Minnesota, so don't tell me oneliners do not have brains as in Ventura and "Swazinegro."
My name is Mota Ogallala Tekumseh, the proud native American.

You've got it. No one argues that Gray Davis did not destroy himself. But, Davis managed to win re-election last year even after California's economic woes had fully set in. So, even while the recall petition was gathering steam, Davis had a reservoir of support from Californians from which to mount a successful campaign against the recall. Many Republicans did not really expect the recall to succeed.
Alas! Enter the traitor, Cruz Bustamante, Davis deputy and Lt. Governor of California. Bustamante's calculation was simple to the core. With Davis' name off the recall ballot and since there would be so many candidates in the race, Bustamante quickly saw that a candidate could win with as little as 30% of the vote. He reasoned that he would coast to victory on the votes of his Hispanic minority, which could be key in a recall vote. Once Bustamante joined the race, the recall campaign acquired a seriousness that it did not previously have. The energy he could have brought to the anti-recall campain was now split between a campaign for himself "in case the recall succeeded" and a questionable campaign against the recall itself. But, anyone following the campaign could clearly see that Bustamante was not able to work as hard against the recall as he did for his own governorship bid. His entry into the race so early was a very sharp political knife in Davis' back.
He saw an opportunity to exploit his Hispanic background and he would not let it pass. But, no one who understands minority politics could really trust in Bustamante's claim that he was campaining against the recall in the first question, and for himself for governor in the second question. Bustamante set himself a very difficult task, which required the sort of dexterity for which he was not famous and which he failed to display in the campaign. In the end, it seemed that the only persons he was able to convince about splitting their votes were himself and Davis. Arnold won in a landslide giving the lie to Bustamante's ethnic calculations.
As far as many Hispanics were concerned, they went to the polls to vote for Bustamante, and if voting against Davis in the recall was what was needed to get Bustamante in, that was what they were going to do, and I suspect that the message was transmitted to Hispanic voters in that uniquely Hispanic campaign "language" (not Spanish) that Amercan mainstream politicians have yet to understand. Davis final decline started when Bustamante threw his hat into the ring.
Up Arnold! Now, onto the White House. US Senator, Orrin Hatch of Utah, is working for a constitutional amendment that would make people like Arnold and me eligible to run for president in the US. Only Republicans could come up with such a wonderful initiative.
Long Live the GOP!

Hey Guys Don't blame me I voted NO on recall and for Gary Coleman on the Governor replacement. Unfortunately the wrong Arnold won. Like Odester said groping is now allowed in sacramento.
This is not Biafranigeria where your uncle obasanjo can win more votes than the registered votes. Yours truely have been voting in every California election for 8 years now.
As for why I voted for Gary Coleman, LA Time had a story, and cartoon about that, which I can go into detail for lack of space. Would it have been memorable if Gary Coleman had become the first Black Governor of California,
