50 white Zimbabwean farmers arrive Kwara today From Abiodun Fagbemi, Ilorin
quote:ABOUT 50 white Zimbabwean farmers are expected today in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, with a view to finding a new haven for their occupation following disagreement with their country's president, Robert Mugabe.
Mugabe confiscated the white farmers' land believed to have been wrongly acquired in pre-independent Zimbabwe.
Kwara State Information and Home Affairs Commissioner, Mr. Raheem Adedoyin, disclosed at the weekend in Ilorin that the farmers would hold talks with top government officials in the state, including Governor Bukola Saraki.
The one-week visit will afford the farmers the opportunities of visiting farm sites in all the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to Adedoyin, Saraki is delighted at the farmers' visit, stressing that the state would benefit from the huge resources, international finance and high-tech equipment available to the displaced farmers.
Adedoyin added: "The Zimbabwean farmers' visit to Kwara State is consolidating the programmes of Saraki's administration of strategic investment in the key sectors of the economy.
While lauding the government's back-to-land programme, designed for food security, employment opportunities and provision of raw materials for agro-allied industries, the commissioner said that the programme had led to the empowerment of 1,000 farmers.
The programme has led to the cultivation of 1,000 hectares of farmland planted with maize, cassava and rice.
It is better that white people keep out of African land once and for all. Land in Nigeria/Africa does not belong to illegitimate regimes, but to the communities. White people have the habit of massacring the owners of the land they occupy. It was the case for the Aborigines of Australia, Indians, Africans, etc. It is time we learnt from history They have land in Europe if that is their problems, because the communities to whom belong the land will chase them away. They should not complain when it happens.

It is good they are for Kwara settlement. I wonder why this idiots that are in helm of nIGERIAN affairs always think through the anus ?. We have a problem that is bigger than California and more populated than the Chinese ,yet our idiotic president and his appointed senators deem it fit ,to invite CHARLES TERROR and now they invited some vampire farmers to come and sing the burial hymn for nIGERIA . i am more than to be called a nIGERIAN ,but what can man do . Let them also invite all the assylum seekers from Liberia and any other place for that matter.After all he that is down fears no fall.

Umuibe, It is our duty to speak out on issues concerning Nigeria/Africa, that would enable the masses to be informed on the risks involved.
I wonder why white people don't go back to Europe if they want to farm, they could obtain some subsidies that are inexistent for African farmers.

Ednut, How can you know who is african and who is not, when you hardly differentiate your left from your right? If progress is allowing Europeans to finish the job they started during African colonization and massacre African population in order to have land, then it will not work.
Not only that there are land in Europe but agriculture is heavily subsidized there. They should keep out of African land.
Unfortunately, you hardly present any argument.
