After more than three months of unrestricted access, David Kay, the American chief weapons inspector, has reported to Congress that he has found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Considering that just as he went into Iraq, David Kay vowed to surprise the world with the weapons of mass destruction that he was going to discover.
We all know that Kay and his handlers at the Pentagon were planning to plant weapons in Iraq and blame them on Saddam. Too bad for them, the world was paying very close attention. So, Kay had to reluctantly tell the truth, even though like his master, Bush, Kay is now mumbling about Iraq's "weapons programs," instead of actual weapons of mass destruction, which Bush told us were his reason for killing all those innocent Iraqis. Are there still any reasonable people who believe that weapons of mass destruction were the reasons for the American-led bloodshed that is still going on in Iraq?

Just the other day, Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing attack in Israel that left 19 people dead. In a swift and decisive action, Israel struck deep into Syria, at perceived Islamic Jihad training sites in retaliation for the suicide attack.
Not long afterwards, Syria called an emergency U.N meeting to discuss the sudden and unexpected strike from Israel. Israel was however unapologetic and lashed out angrily at the fact that Syria could single-handedly convene an emergency meeting of the U.N.
It goes without saying that if the two parties do not tread softly and diplomatically, this newest confrontation could escalate the tensions in the Middle East.
Are we witnessing the long beginning of a possible World War without even knowing it? Should we expect that very soon all the Islamic nations of the Middle East would rise up to challenge the Israeli state thus prompting the ‘Clash of Civilizations’ of some sort?
I am sure that somewhere in your convoluted reasoning, there is a link between the Israel-Syria confrontation and Bush's failed effort to plant or find WMD in Iraq, which is the topic of this thread. But, don't bother to tell us what the link is. We certainly don't want you to strain too hard to explain that which is too obvious to you.

Let’s just say that you have become synonymous with the Middle East to me, especially on this board. And as it has become quite obvious that discussing the Middle East is all you delight in doing, I have no qualms discussing ANY Middle East happenstance on threads originating from YOU. Or would you want me to open up another thread? Methinks that would be an unnecessary waste of white space. Let’s avoid unnecessary proliferation of similar topics/threads, shall we?

The obvious response of a certified Jihadist. Mohammed’s decrees must hold sway over ALL men. Anything contradictory to the Arab religious cum political perspective clearly deserves total annihilation. Death to ALL unbelievers, Allahu Akbar! No matter our views on the Middle East issues, it would be wrong not to condemn the injustice and learn lessons from it, as the Nazi anecdote teaches us:
First they came for the communists and i did not spoeak out because I was not a communist
then they came for the jews and I did not speak out Because I was not a jew . . . . then they came for me and there was one left to speak out for me.
