An Eyewitness Account Filed from Igbo Landing in South Carolina
quote:
Igbo Landing has assumed a dimension bigger than anything that Ekwe Nche, Biafra Liberation Movement and the Biafra Committee for Immediate Action (BLM/BCIA), or the Biafra National Union (BIANU) could have imagined. Igbo Landing dedicated to honoring the strength and endurance of the human spirit has now turned into a huge gathering of Nd'Igbo, Hebrews, Black American Jews, Nd'Igbo from Igboland, Nd'Igbo in Diaspora, the House of Israel (Hebrews who fully identify themselves as Igbo and flew in from Demona, Israel to attend the ceremony), groups and individuals prepared to fight and lay down their lives for the freedom of the Igbo Nation and Biafra.

Today, the City of Charleston, South Carolina will dedicate a historical site in honor of Igbo Landing and the Igbo 13 led by the Igbo hero, Oba. Speaking to a cross section of the attendees, Elisha Nasik Danyel the representative of Ben Ami, the leader of House of Israel Kingdom of Yah in Domona Israel, rebuked those Igbo and Biafra persons who have failed to play their part in the liberation of the Igbo Nation and Biafra. He accused those Igbo of deviating from the covenant.

Emea Nnana Umah of BIANU will lead an Ohafia War Dance today at Igbo Landing. This year's Igbo Landing is sponsored by CIBO - the Coalition of Igbo and Biafra Organizations, a coalition comprising Ekwe Nche, the Biafra National Union (BIANU), and the Biafra Liberation Movement / the Biafra Committee for Immediate Action (BLM/BCIA).
.

Hurrah! to Igbo Landing 2003.

If we may subject this so-called "Igbo Landing" to a little scrutiny. How much is real and how much is myth?

According to one source,
--------------------------
No one is quite sure who these Ibo (also spelled "Ebo" and "Igbo") captives were, where they came from, or if they committed suicide at all. Records from the period are sketchy concerning this incident. But it doesn't really matter whether the incident happened or not, for over time it became a myth that gave pride to thousands of Africans forced into slavery on the vast Sea Island plantations that once controlled the area.

Are these mythical tales the basis for all the elaborate activities reported on the front page of this website?

While you celebrate the mythology of "Ebo Landing" the Yoruba has done it again.

Ifajankita:

What is your point? If you you have no history of your own to be proud of, why don't you just shut up. Better yet, do you see that link that Williamson gave you? Use it.
