if the various separatist movements in Nigeria are unable to get their acts together, and offer us a better alternative than Nigeria, what then is wrong with jumping unto the (IBB) 2007 bandwagon and cut your own piece of cake? Sometimes it's just not possible to change the entire world. After all, life goes on, doesn't it?

not everyone who sympathizes with or is in support of Babangida is a 419 criminal. Don't forget all the good things Babangida did for the common people. Which other nigerian president went ahead to give poor people a credit with which they were able to start business? Do you know of any?
Besides, what is your contribution to the improvement of Nigeria? Is there any? It's easy to sit in Oregon USA, hide behind an internet forum handle, and begin to attack those who stuck out their necks to rule Nigeria.

Chop and clean mouth? What do you do after you've eaten? You leave your mouth all oily and dirty?

in the late 1980's, the then nigerian president Babangida opened The People's Bank. Poor people who did not receive bank loans from normal banks, were now able to receive substantial amounts of money from the People's Bank to start a business, with which they were able to make a living. Hundreds of thousands of Nigerians have utilized this great opportunity provided by Babangida. You, hiding in Oregon throwing rocks at IBB, may not have benefited from the People's Bank, but there are hundreds of thousands of Nigerians (from all tribes) who are alive today due to the money they made from their businesses which they were able to conduct because of the loan which they received from the People's Bank.

Babangida himself opened the bank in the late 1980's, and during the opening ceremony, he even spoke in your pidgin-english language during his opening speech.

That's one good thing Babangida has done for Nigeria.

Here's another one:

Restoring faith in Nigeria in foreign investors, and healing the tainted picture which the World Community had about Nigeria.
Babangida was the one who, on his first day in power, cancelled the notoriously evil Degree No2, as set up by the Buhari/Idiagbon gang. Are you aware that Buhari threw hundreds of journalist, including foreign journalist and diplomats, into jail because of Degree No2?
Babangida saved the lives of hundreds of foreign diplomats and journalists which were languishing in nigerian jails without ever having a fair trial.

That's another good thing Babangida has done for Nigeria!

Next time I'll tell you more about IBB.

My first preoccupation is that OBJ must hand over the office of C in C come 2007.No matter what new Political structure the confab develops. As for IBB,he is truely another wolf waiting in the wings to do Nigeria harm. But,having learnt from the mind boggling fabrication of results of the 2003 elections, one hopes Nigerians would not sit idly and watch these gluttons allocate to themselves unmerited figures as votes won.If we can protect at least 60% of the 2007 elections results from the mere fabrication withnessed in 2003,then IBB would lose any day in a somewhat fair elections conducted in Nigeria.

How do you want to protect "at least 60%" of the votes when bribery and corruption is baked in every Nigerian gene?

Umaru,First of all,i beg to disagree that bribery and corruption is baked in EVERY Nigerian gene.In case you did not know,it is because of a couple of honest, hardworking Nigerians here and there that you are still being given a benefit of the doubt in whatever country you are in now.

Yes,Nigerians should insist on repealling the law that makes for central release of gubernatorial or presidential elections results from the state capitals and Abuja only.A method must be devised that makes results to be released immediately at each polling station and some tamper proof mechanisms invested in to make falsification of the entered results at the polling stations and acceptance of forged results impossible. So that as soon as that result is called and recorded in each polling station,it cannot be changed again ever on that sheet or using another sheet.Technology abound in the world where electronic papers can be used for this process of the result sheet. Specific security codes for each polling station result sheet must tally with the inbuilt code on their specific result sheet.Such that, only a certain provided result sheet with the correct security code or number can be accepted as containing the true authentic results of a particular polling station by the computer. This makes it impossible for those who destroy the true authentic election results sheets and re write results on alternate sheets to have such false results rejected by the computer because the serial number or security codes on the re written sheet does not tally with the already programmed inbuilt codes for the particular polling stations.

Apart from the above, other security measures can be developed to reduce human error in the collation of results.Since most of the rigging happen during the period of results collation,if adequate security measures are taken to forstall forgery of results, other peripheral events as voters intimidation and ballot box stuffing etc, would be insufficient to make an overly unpopular candidate to win. Therefore,if we compel our govt.to invest heavily in tamper proof security details for INEC results collation mechanism, such that even the INEC boss cannot tamper with any results fed into a computerised system/sheet,then we would be seeing less and less of people saving their campaign money to bribe INEC officials instead of running real campaigns to win the people`s votes. If Nigeria as a nation can conduct examinations like JAMB in one day and handle the papers and results in such a way that there is no outrageous leakage severe enough to rubbish the national results, then we can do even better in handling our elections with proper security measures to make election riggers have a very very very hard time to forge results.

The above measures have one real draw back though.A sit tight ruler who wants a second term can decide to crash the computers or still go ahead and declare whatever he wishes as the results so that he could continue in office for a second term. Thus the urgent need again that ALL Nigeria`s elected officers including the President shall have a single 5 years non renewable term in any particular elected office enshrined in the coming constitution. In this way,the power of incumbency factor in election rigging would not kill this security system by those already in office who wish to perpetrate a second term in the same office.

Stale news, but all the same - [For Your Info]

Please sing along with me!!! He's a miracle working God, he's a miracle working God, he is Alpha and Omega, he's a miracle working God!!!

Let somebody shout Halleluyah!!!

Halleluyah!!!

The number 1 IBB campaign manager is dead. He died in London from complications arising from a road accident he had in Lokoja. If they had ruled this country well enough, they would have built good enough hospitals to take care of accident victims! Six hours to London before "proper" medicare?

The man is Abdulkareem Adisa, chairman of IBB's Project 2007.

God is good, all the time!

Amen?!, Amen!!!

Bro. Olusola i agree with u 100%. May be IBB's dream will die like Adisa.

No good road
No good hospital.

Now Ribadu has said no evidence about IBB having foriegn account. Which means IBB lives solely on his retirement income from Nigerian Army! Abi na Sonny Odogwu keep the money for am?

According to prof. Aluko, enquiring minds want to know.

He is indeed a miracle working God. One by one their sins shall find them out and what they refuse to do for the masses and their people will come to haunt them.

Amen!

Any body, I repeat anybody at all that have sympathy for the Evil Genius, is an enemy of the people.

OBJ is a disaster agreed, but for one to imagine IBB as a solution is MADNESS. The guy is smart, but all tyrants are.

Give me any stupid goat to contest against him, I will vote the goat 10 times. If the goat misbehaves, at least we all will know its a goat.

Biafra:

I beg to disagree. Obasanjo, Abdulsalam, Abacha are all building on the foundation IBB laid.

These man IBB too nija to another level. prior to his regime, no one can ever beleive that certain things will happen in nija. How about bombing once enemy? IBB took deciet to another level. Have you forgoten the transitional period? how many times he moved the d-date? How about setting up and funding parties, building headquaters for the parties?

Have you forgoten about the SAP debate?

Better life for rural women, peoples bank, etc etc all set up to settle and bankrupt the national treasury.

How about the Gulf war windfall?

How about settling junior army officers with cars as bribe?

During IBB's time 419 was made a national past time.

Trust me, OBj's regime is a childs play compared to IBB.

Having said that, OBJ is gradually toeing the same line as IBB. Atleast with OBj he will curse u out and u will know where he stands. With IBB, his gap toothed smiles will fool u and before u know it he will Dele Giwa u.
