Last night, a friend of mine called my attention to this report. It is a shame that even a confessed criminal gets away without so much as a reprimand.
What is one to make of the confessions of this chief rigger from Igboland?

Damian,
I would hazard a guess that the crook is attempting a public image laundry before the victims of his crime and at the scene of the crime, in preparation for an even greater crime he is about to commit in preparation for the arrival of IBB.

I'd rather be driving a beat up old VW on a good road surfaced with frugally and creatively managed available materials implemented with Biafran ingenuity, than be driving a lexus jeep on the decrepit death traps they call roads in the East.
Aparrently those wise ones who know best what leadership to foist upon us once assured of their twenty five pieces of silver are too shortsighted to know to ask for good roads and amenities to drive their blood gotten jeeps on.

It is instructive to note that those lowlive scum by whom our own Igbo lowlive scum are purchased, know enough about the terrain to buy jeeps for their errand boys as gifts.
All the better to achieve results by, I suppose?
Yes only military vehicles such as tanks and jeeps are equipped to run errands on our pot-holed paths (sorry, roads).
But Iwuanyanwu knows what is best for us, and by golly he gave it to us.
I am rejoicing gratefully at his sheer magnanimity to humble himself like that and stoop so lowly to confess to undeserving peasants such as ourselves.

Well when I said earlier that there is virtually no criminal activity in Imo that the name Iwuanyanwu does not feature that liar Egede1 would have none of it. I guess we are hearing it from the horses mouth now.
I guess baba and the governors are not paying back Iwuanyanwu's kindess the way he expected hence the confession. But will that stop Ohaneze from giving him a new post ? Your guess is as good as mine.

Ukaobasi: You just hit the nail on the head! Anyone who takes this that can best be described as a kite-throwing and entrampment for a "confession" will be in for bigger surprises later.
As I have often warned: the Igbo god maybe patient, however, you bet it will punish those who are in the habit of taking the Igbo nation and people for a ride.
Iwuanyawu, like other travellers like Kema Chikwe, Ojo Maduekwe, Jim Nwobodo, Chris Uba, etc will surely sooner than later come to therms with the wrath of Amadioha and other Igbo deities.
For gone are the days that it was said that "what men do/es lives after them." Good enough, today it LIVES WITH THE CULPRIT WHILE HE/SHE IS ALIVE.

Not too long ago in this thread I predicted that Iwuanyanwu will be rewarded for his confession by the Efulefu Ohaneze crowd. Well you got it now, Igbo constituition will be written by a criminal thanks to Obaneze. Webmaster I am soon going to start charging BNW for my predictions.
A NEW dawn broke yesterday for the Igbo ethnic nationality in the country as an eminent lawyer and insurance guru, Professor Joe Irukwu was unanimously elected as the new president-general of its apex socio-political organisation, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Held at the Sam Mbakwe Hall of the Concorde Hotel, Owerri, the Imo State capital amid tight security, Igbo leaders at the meeting included three state governors, among a host of other dignitaries.
A renowned professor of English, Professor Benedict Obumselu was elected as Irukwu's deputy while former Biafran warlord, Col. Joe Achuzia emerged as secretary-general.
Also elected were Chief Nath Izuako (assistant national secretary), Sir J.N. Chibundu (assistant national financial secretary), Mr. Ndi Onuekwusi (assistant national treasurer), Chief Sylvester Chima Oduko (national legal adviser), Mr. Emmanuel Ajoku (national publicity secretary), Chief Anthony Emeruom (national financial secretary), Mr. Eddy Nnaji (national treasurer) and Chief Austin Igwe Udeze (deputy secretary-general). State chairmen of Ohanaeze in the seven Igbo-speaking states were named as national vice president.
They will be inaugurated at the next general assembly of Ohanaeze, which will hold in Umuahia, the Abia State capital in January 2004.
Speaker after speaker at the ceremony described the peaceful conduct of the election as a new dawn for the Ohanaeze, adding that the group was now ready to reposition Igbo to take their proper place in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
Notable Igbo leaders at the ceremony included Governors Achike Udenwa (Imo), Sam Egwu (Ebonyi) and Chris Ngige (Anambra).
Also present was the association's former president-general, Justice Eze Ozobu. Senate President Adolphus Wabara was represented by his special adviser special duties, Prince Obinna Okwuaka. Also in attendance were Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, renowned human rights crusader, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd); and eminent scientist, Prof. Anya O. Anya.
There were Rear Admiral Allison Madueke, Chief C.C. Onoh, Sir Nwachukwu Onyenso, Deputy Governor Chidozie Ogbu (Ebonyi), Chief Paul Umeodi, Maj.Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (rtd), Senators Onyeabo Obi and Onyeka Okoroafor, Chief Bob Ogbuagu, Dr. Uma Eleazu, Chief Nuel Aguocha, Chief Val Mbamala, Festus Okoye, Dr. Joe Nwaorgu, Hypolyte Ogboko, Agunze Ikokwu and Elliot Uko, among others.
Irukwu in his maiden post-election press conference, accepted the headship of the association, promising to make Igbo proud in all ramifications.
The president general-elect pledged to work with other members of the executive to ensure that the division in the rank of the ethnic group stopped.
He said: "As from today, Ndigbo are united and will remain so. Anybody who refuses to be united, we will beg him, force him and drag him to come and be with us."
He spoke further: "Some people have tried to divide us. That division will and from now stop. If we go out, we start to put our house in order so that people will be part of us. The neighbours around us, we will still appeal to them. From there, we will move to the rest of Nigeria. This is the commitment of the new executive, you have just elected."
The insurance expert promised that his reign would usher in peace in Igbo land and the Ohanaeze.
His words: "We will use our own Ohanaeze to make sure we achieve peace not just in Igboland but the entire Nigeria.
"We will work with every good Nigerian and to do so effectively, we have to start by putting our homes in order."
He urged that the Igbo be properly placed in the scheme of things in the country, warning that any contrary move would also retard the growth of Nigeria.
His words: "Igbo land is part of Nigeria, Nigeria will never be in progress without Igbo. One of Nigeria's problems is Igbo."
He added: "The only way Nigeria will make progress is to accept that whether you are Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, whatever you are, everyone of our ethnic groups, you are not going anywhere. We are committed as Ohanaeze to use our position not only for the good of our people but also the good of all Nigerians."
The election ended at about 3.15 p.m.
Irukwu congratulated the governors of Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra for their contributions in ending the crisis that nearly marred the election.
He greeted Governors Sam Egwu, Ebonyi and Achike Udenwa of Imo in particular urging them to remain committed to the growth of the Ohanaeze.
Speaking against the background of the confusion that trailed the venue of the election, Governors Udenwa and Egwu expressed joy that the enemies of the Igbo who had wished to make Ohanaeze a laughing stock, had been put to shame.
They said all the governors of the south-east had resolved to ensure that Ohanaeze succeeded.
Egwu said: "Today, it appeared as if Ohanaeze will be scattered. I am happy that those that want Ohanaeze destroyed will be disappointed. Today, Igbos have regained their lost glory."
To make the new rapprochement last, he urged Igbo leaders to shun unnecessary rivalry, envy and wickedness and always tell themselves the truth.
Udenwa said: "It is gratifying that the entire Igbo race came to Owerri to elect a new executive for Ohanaeze in a very peaceful atmosphere."
He declared the support of Imo people for Ohanaeze under the leadership of Irukwu, whom he described as a man "Igbos will look up to for leadership in the coming years."
On his part, Ozobu, who disclosed that his community in Enugu State would crown him as a traditional ruler soon, expressed joy that a new executive had been elected to chart a course for the future of the Igbo in Nigeria.
He urged all Igbo leaders to sink their differences in the interest of the ethnic group. "We must bury the hatchet and work as a unit to shame our enemies who are on the wings waiting to laugh at us."
Speaking on behalf of Senate President Wabara, Okwuaka endorsed the election and its outcome.
He said the initial call of Wabara for the postponement of the election was to ensure that the Igbo approached the poll as an entity. With the presence of Egwu at the election, he said, it was obvious that Igbo leaders were now united, which he said was good for Wabara as the Number Three citizen of the country.
He urged Ohanaeze leaders to work with the Senate President and other Igbo leaders in government to entrench the new understanding in the group.
For Iwuanyanwu who is chairing the constitution committee, Ohanaeze is now ready to champion the political cause of Ndigbo.

Chiboy,
That was uncanny, yet humorous. Are you sure you did'nt get an avance notification copy of the itinerary from Eze Ozobu?
When I read that article, I thought: Wow! what a novel idea, grant the fox control to secure and safeguard the chicken coop!. I wondered why I had not come up with it all this time as a panacea to all our problems as Igbo, until I read your posting on this issue on this thread and remembered that one of ours had foretold it afterall with uncanny accuracy.
You hope that they did not overlook Chris Ubah, and Emeka Offor for their foot soldiering, kingmaking, and self humiliation capabilities.
Joe Irukwu, seems a man of sterling quality from my very distant observation, I'm just wondering how he ends up with the absolutely funny crowd, saddled with a task that appears doomed to fail, even before it takes off the ground.
I can only wish him divine guidance.
