It's that time of the year again--time for friends, family and festivities. The time to remember the magnificent truth that was revealed to us in the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. God became flesh; and He did so with Amazing Grace.
The season we are caught as fast as we could not imagine scrambling to be ready.
The jingle bells The gifts The shopping spree The dinners The specials The parties The plays The children
Once again, it is time of the year when we celebrate candlelight worships and contemporary music with traditional carols and Scriptures which makes the birth of Jesus come alive.
Let's celebrate the journey of the three wise men who followed a star on a night that changed the world--the birth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, The Savior.

Merry Christmas to......you know what? I will wait till the event approaches to extend my warmest holiday wishes to members of the BNW family.
For now, Oga Damian, I think on the picture you showed us, I can make out what appears to be a monument. That “majestic BNW Christmas tree” wouldn’t be the same Christmas tree that adorns the area around the Washington monument, would it? You have this way of putting the yuletide season in motion on this board, that arrests all the pent up anger at the happenings over there in Biafranigeria, waiting from our minds to be pored out with vituperative intensity and momentuum, oblivious to the passage of the seasons, to the slow and steady passage of time, till all of a sudden, the yuletide season is upon us again, catching unawares our wired postures of extreme tension, until you open a thread to remind all once more with a subtle nudge:
Sheath your swords. Stand at ease!. Remember the battle has been fought. Fought by our saviour. Sent by the grace of our Merciful God. Remember that a victory has been won. Won by the loving mercy of an unconditionally gracious father. Remember. Remember. Sheath your swords.
Yes it is Christmastime again, even as I meditate upon the meaning of that great and lasting sacrifice for us, it is my prayer that all, like many on this board including self, who at once in conflict with the larger picture of the victory won for us, and the daily torments threatnning to distract from its rewards, will spend some time to consolidate in their minds, through moments of serene meditation, the joy, the promise, the meaning of Messiahs birth.
It is my prayer that we find our inner peace, our inner understanding, that a battle already won can only be claimed.
It is my prayer that God grant us the grace to submit to his will, to see more vividly the picture that seems to elude,
"God is Spirit, and only in the spirit can we worship him as he truly is" ----- Jesus Christ.

I think Happy Holiday is an incorrect way that the politically Correct (PC) crowd of this country use to remove Christ’s name from this seasons celebration. A way for the profiteers to include the non-Christians in the "holiday" shopping spree.

To me Christmas will not be complete without the fresh cut Christmas tree decorated with sparkling balls, an open fire, good tidings with bubbling guests, women, wine and song.

'T'was the night before Christmas and all through the town Not a sign of Baby Jesus was anywhere to be found.
The people were all busy with Christmas time chores Like decorating, and baking, and shopping in stores. No one sang "Away in a manger, no crib for a bed". Instead, they sang of Santa dressed-up in bright red.
Mama watched Martha Stewart, Papa drank beer from a tap. As hour upon hour the presents they'd wrap
When what from the T.V. did they suddenly hear? 'Cept an ad.. which told of a big sale at Sears. So away to the mall they all flew like a flash... Buying things on credit... and others with cash!
And, as they made their way home From their trip to the mall, Did they think about Jesus? Oh, no... not at all.
Their lives were so busy with their Christmas time things No time to remember Christ Jesus, the King.
There were presents to wrap and cookies to bake. How could they stop and remember who died for their sake?
To pray to the Savior... they had no time to stop. Because they needed more time to "Shop til they dropped!"
On Wal-mart! On K-mart! On Target! On Penney's! On Hallmark! On Zales! A quick lunch at Denny's
From the big stores downtown to the stores at the mall They would dash away, dash away, and visit them all!
And up on the roof, there arose such a clatter As grandpa hung icicle lights up on his brand new step ladder He hung lights that would flash. He hung lights that would twirl. Yet, he never once prayed to Jesus... Light of the World.
Christ's eyes... how they twinkle! Christ's Spirit... how merry! Christ's love... how enormous! All our burdens... He'll carry! So instead of being busy, overworked, and uptight Let's put Christ back in Christmas and enjoy some good nights!
Merry Christmas, my friends

Joy to the world! The Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let ev’ry heart prepare Him room; And heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n and heav’n and nature sing.
Joy to the world! The Savior reigns; Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rock, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy; repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love, And wonders, and wonders of His love.
"How do you explain the greatness of the Man whose birthday we celebrate on Christmas? He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another obscure village, where He worked in a carpenter's shop until He was 30. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher. He never had a family or owned a home. He never set foot inside a big city. He never traveled 200 miles from the place where He was born. He never wrote a book or held an office. He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself.
Although He walked the land over, curing the sick, giving sight to the blind, healing the lame, and raising people from the dead, the top established religious leaders turned against Him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was spat upon, flogged, and ridiculed. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While He was dying, the executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth, and that was His robe. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Twenty wide centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central Figure for much of the human race. All the armies that ever marched, and all the navies that ever sailed, and all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as this One Solitary Life". (“One Solitary Life” by George Clark Peck)
Christ indeed is the reason for the season! Members of the BNW family, here’s wishing you all a Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year to all!
