What we are witnessing is Yoruba behavior in the middle of Igboland. I think it is time for Ngige to step aside so that Nd'Igbo can declare war on Chris Ubah and his Yoruba inlaws.

*Ngige men, thugs in gun battle
*Judiciary HQ razed
THE orgy of violence in Anambra State which started last Wednesday continued Friday night with the razing of the state Judiciary Headquarters in Awka, the state capital, by a band of thugs who laid siege on the state, destroying public buildings.
Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, after an emergency meeting in Enugu yesterday, called for a stop to the arson and wanton destruction of property which it blamed on the failure of law enforcement agencies to live up to their responsibilities. The National Executive Council of Igbo Youth Congress (IYC), also asked the Federal Government to use every means at its disposal to stop the mayhem.
A top level security meeting summoned by President Olusegun Obasanjo had last Friday ordered the deployment of more anti-riot policemen to Anambra State to quell the crisis.
The meeting also mandated Governor Chris Ngige and the state chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uchenna Emordi, to appeal to the people of the state to remain calm. The meeting resolved
that a committee be set up to deal with the contending issues with a view to finding a political solution. The parley also ordered partial restoration of the police security of Ngige who lost that right in July last year after his aborted abduction.
The thugs, who took position at Aroma Junction, struck at the Judiciary complex housing the office of the State Chief Judge at 5.30 pm Friday and torched a wing of the building including the chief judge’s office. The complex located near the State House of Assembly, earlier burnt by the thugs, is one of the major government buildings burnt down in the wake of the arson, maiming and killings that characterized the recent hostility mounted against the government of Ngige by hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.
Shortly after torching the Judiciary headquarters, the thugs left for their Onitsha base but a few of them left in Awka were engaged in a gun duel by members of the governor’s private security who arrived the Aroma Junction in five buses at about 6 pm and shot sporadically at the thugs who fired back at them, as pandemonium broke out in the area. About seven persons reportedly sustained gunshot injuries during the gun duel that sent residents of the area scampering for safety. Yesterday, the thugs regrouped and set bonfire at the Aroma Junction and prevented traffic flow on the road. Mobile policemen who took over the area later dispersed them.
Ohanaeze indicts law enforcement agents The pan Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo condemned, weekend, the reckless killings, wanton destruction and vandalization of public and private property currently going on in Anambra State. The organization blamed the damage caused by the political thugs on the failure of the law enforcement agencies to live up to their constitutional responsibility and called on the federal government to ensure protection of lives and property in the state.
In a statement issued after its emergency meeting in Enugu, the organization said the tragic development, which had resulted in the loss of many lives and property worth billions of naira, was “unacceptable especially at this time of our national history.” The statement signed by Professor Joe Irukwu and Col. Joe Achuzia (rtd), president general and secretary general of Ohanaeze respectively, read: “Ohanaeze condemns the reckless killings and wanton destruction and vandalization of public and private property that took place in Anambra State and the total violation of the rule of law; Ohanaeze has consistently advocated the existence of the highest democratic values and the rule of law and has done everything possible to champion this cause in Igbo land and Nigeria.;
“Ohanaeze recognizes the fact that it is the constitutional responsibility of the police and other law enforcement agencies to protect the lives and properties of citizens. From all accounts, it is evident that if the Police and Law enforcement Agencies had performed their duties with greater commitment, the damage done would have been totally avoided.
Constitutional and civic responsibilities
We, therefore, call on the Federal Government and the law enforcement agencies to be alive to their constitutional and civic responsibilities to protect lives and properties of the citizens, especially in Anambra State.”
The organization, however, appealed to Igbos at home and in Diaspora to remain calm, assuring that it would do everything possible to ensure that the matter did not deteriorate any further.
Also speaking on the Anambra crisis weekend, Senator Uche Chukwumerije accused the Federal Government of declaring a “war” on the people of the state, citing the alleged deliberate withdrawal of police from containing the violence and destruction of public properties in Onitsha and the state capital, Awka.
Said he: “Does anyone want to continue to insult the intelligence of Nigerians by pretending that the madness raging in Anambra is, to use favourite official lingo, a “civil disturbance”, a violent civil strife which the law enforcement agencies cannot contain? Can any one still continue to sell the fairy tale that the people have declared this war against all government properties, properties bought and maintained with taxpayers’ money? ‘‘Even the blind have seen the obvious, federal might has launched this war on the people of Anambra”.
The senator, therefore, declared that only an “unequivocal, firm and decisive action” against the perpetrators of the crime in Anambra could exonerate the presidency and the security agencies from complicity in the mayhem. Chukwumerije, who spoke in Enugu, weekend, also asked the Federal Government to pay compensation to the state for all properties damaged during the violence.
The National Executive Council of Igbo Youth Congress (IYC), rose from an emergency meeting at the weekend, warning that the Federal Government should stop playing the ostrich on the Anambra crisis.
The Congress in a statement after the meeting signed by the publicity secretary, Mr. Anyanwu Bede, said the Federal Government had the machinery to stop the crisis, saying it should use it in the interest of the people. “It is obvious that the PDP-led Federal Government caused the Anambra crisis and should be able to resolve it without inflicting further hardship on law abiding citizens of Anambra State”, the Congress added.

My brother I still dont see that this has anything to do with Ngige being removed.
Among the armed robbers that constitute the Ubah gang, Ngige is merely the getaway driver who turned against his masters and decided to stay on the intended victims side.
We know where Ngige is and who he is, so it is better to hold him down where we can see him.
other than the names so far associated with Ubah, can we safely say that we know which stooge he is likely to install from the wings if Ngige is removed? And for that matter by whom would he be removed? and to whose benefit?
I dont expect Igbos to be talking about the removal of Ngige right now because in the scheme of things he is powerless, and it wont amount to much.
So far only Ubah's cronies should be the ones talking about the removal of Ngige as a panacea, since they have just demonstrated to Igboland what they are willing to destroy to take his seat.
Ubah Chris is a malicious armed robber. He needs to go, but even he is small fry when compared to the people behind him, who despite supposedly reassigning "police protection" to Ngige are about to close in on Anambra and Igboland.
The remedy for Igbos This should therefore be to:
Begin to stash defensive devices secretly.
Invent many varying and sophisticated types of devices secretly
Compile a standing list of the masterminds who have commited this heinous crime in Anambra at the street level, mastermind level, sponsor level, and beneficiary level
Continue to rebuild our internal fragmented relationships in order to prepare to compile our order of battle to maximum impact
Speak out aggressively against human rights violations against any Igbo or Biafranigerian above all else.
Stay quiet on other political excitements, wait patiently, watch patiently and prepare methodically whether individually or as a collective.

TERRORISM Can you please imagine politically sponsored terrorists laying waste to all the state government buildings in Austin the state capital of Texas?
COMPLICITY& DELIBERATE INEPTITUDE Please can you concieve this visually occurring? And the police chief for the city of Austin still retain his job? Or for that matter the head of the FBI still retain his job? The presidents inaction against the police chief, SSSChief, and attorney general in itself represents evidence, and stands high among the reasons for outrage!!! This is still inconcievable, but has happened
THE PRESIDENT AS A CRIMINAL TERRORIST / MAFIA BOSS Thank God there were no World trade center skyscraper buildings with 3000 or more people in Onitsha, but Obasanjo's complicity in supporting Ubah to commit these deeds is akin to the terrorism unleashed by al-quieda in destroting those buildings.
As far as innocent lives were lost, and as long as public property was destroyed toward the quest of owning Igbos in Anambra down to the local government level, The president of "Nigeria" is a combination of a criminal terrorist and an uncouth mafia boss!.

May i salute your absolute commitment and dedication to your relentless effort at exposing all the evil plots against ndigbo no matter the part of igboland.
I might be wrong but i have observed many equally honourable board members but who by their write up made the impression as though they should concern themselves with issues affecting only their hometown.Infact,Hon.Ohafia Udemezue &Nwa Aro appeared inclined unto blaming the current crisis on the percieved "attitude" of Anambra people.Although he eventually said his pity only goes to the hapless hardworking people of that state. While i completely agree that the PDP stole the mandate of APGA in not just Anambra but the entire eastern states. This was done in an effort by Obasanjo to provide a landslide victory to the world claiming grassroot popularity, in an election he technically did not win. However, because there is no justice in Nigeria,(Eg.the acquittal of James Ibori of the ex-convict saga)we as a people must keep surviving and make the best of a bad situation we find ourselves. In this light comes the reason now for the massive grassroot support for Chris Ngige who had turned away from the criminals side to ally with the victims. Thus became a local Hero.If Ngige agreed this minute to pay #4 billion naira and provide the govt. appointments demanded by Chris Uba,Anambra would go bankrupt but absolute peace & tranquility would prevail. It is wrong therefore to insinuate that Anambra people are rather violence or corruption prone because of some misjudged happenings or"attitude".Some Anambra & Enugu people are equally filled with that same chauvinistic aura when referring to other Igbos from old Imo,Nsukka area or especially Anioma areas.
The danger in stereotyping amongst us Igbos would cost us terribly. It would leave our flanks vulnerable to attacks by our sworn enemies.Who would dream of fostering these stereotypes and somewhat phobia amongst Igbos to scuttle our common destiny into disillusionment or even worse. Thus sir,you can see why i have such admiration for your courage and dedication to defending the whole of Igboland.I might be gravely wrong about my assertion of the conduct of a few Honourables, but i just felt like speaking out what i observed, rightly or wrongly.
May i salute your absolute commitment and dedication to your relentless effort at exposing all the evil plots against ndigbo no matter the part of igboland.
.......I might be gravely wrong about my assertion of the conduct of a few Honourables, but i just felt like speaking out what i observed, rightly or wrongly.
Njiko,
My brother thank you very much for those kind compliments. Thank you also for humbly establishing the benefit of the doubt that you could be wrong in your assessment of the other members whom you mentioned. I thank you because as with your earlier assessment of Umuibe you may have been understandably frustrated and hasty, but innocently wrong. I will explain.
COLD WAR From my perception, there is a behind the scenes cold war being waged by genuine dedicated, Igbo-loving, selflessly giving patriots to keep all Igbo groups honest. That war is a war for Integrity, honor, authenticity, steadfastness, consistency, non compromise of moral values, and non exploitation of Igbo vulnerabilities for self aggrandisement and cheap self promotion.
Being totally honest, among those whom you encounter their inputs on this board, I am a mere internet commentator, heavily biased (but with a measure of justness) toward Biafran aspiration and Igbo oriented goals, however, among those who are dedicated and genuine actors for Igbo progress with a non partisan spirit of humaneness to all human beings alike, You would find not many who are more commited and hands on than some of those individuals you mentioned above.
Because of their sacrifice and intensity for which they neither rush to claim credit nor pound their chest in boastfullness many of these individuals go through a greater feeling of disappointment when some Igbos attempt to hijack, dilute and even attempt to compromise the discipline which all behind-the-scenes Igbo movements are expected to be displaying at this critical juncture.
FROM MY PERCEPTION (I could be wrong too): THE LOW DOWN You have heard the name ASA-USA brought up again and again. In a behind the scenes mass mailing I recieve, I have had the opportunity to assess the antecedents of some of the individuals operating that movement just going by what they write. Of the values of :
authenticity,
steadfastness
consistency,
It is easy to see how one might slip every now and then, in fact who among many of us could be perfect?, however; I’m afraid to say that on the more critical values of:
Integrity,
honor,
non compromise of moral values, and
non exploitation of Igbo vulnerabilities for self aggrandisement and cheap self promotion,
There were some actions that ASA-USA principal actors took at the initial and early stages of the Ubah/Ngige debacle that has made their motives permanently suspect, not the least of which included some equivocative conciliatory comments and overtures towards Ubah at the beginning, and at a later stage, the invitation of Ngige and awarding of honors to him knowing fully well his dirty and immoral complicity in the abuse of Igbos, and his opportunistic inclination to sneak up on those who would help him and use and abuse their efforts to the fullest.
In granting that recognition, ASA-USA without heeding other Igbo groups and voices who wisely disapproved it, behaved as if it was an Anambra only affair, and as if only Anambrarians are fit to comment and act on such issues. Apart from Umuibe and a few others, many Anambra voices failed to speak up to challenge ASA-USA, and it then appeared as If Nd’Igbo were being told to back off from something from which their heart has been bleeding profusely.
Reluctantly they did, and have only been observing from the sidelines what appears to be a daily soap opera in Anambra in which ASA-USA has been going on as if all was normal, and as if just a little bit of schmoozing and cajoling (with some self promoting on the side) by their eminent selves would make everything alright in their Anambra, until this incident.
CONCLUSION I believe I’ve tried to stay somewhat simplistic in my assessment, but you can see why it has been difficult for many Igbo brothers to jump out there again, doing battle for Ngige on selfless behalf of Igbos but mostly for Anambrarians. In my case, I only saw this as a gross violation, a deliberate escalation by the criminal mind of Obasanjo which had it occurred in Ogun state, would have equally been ominous and disturbing in all its ramifications. The outrage that should be felt is what I have been trying hard to market.
If anything may be said, it would be that my brothers despite their righteous indignation permitted me without attack, to hold this board hostage with my weekend fillibuster. And for this I also thank them.

Between Chris Ubah and Dr. Ngige, I could care less who lives and who dies. I really will prefer that both animals die horrible deaths. But that will not happen in the case of Chris Ubah because Obasanjo handprint is all of the horrible event that is occuring in Anambra, he Obasanjo is protecting Chris Ubah because Chris Uba's brother Nnamdi Uba is a special assistant to Obasanjo.
Now back to the mayhem that is currently occuring in Anambra. The reason why Obasanjo planned and wants this mayham to continue is that he wants a reason to declare state of emergency in Anambra State, under that state of emergency Obasanjo was to replace the governor with his own man chosen by his boy Chris Uba.
I'm happy to report that such more has been aborted due to lack of support from the people that matter. The idea of state of emergency has died a natural death for now I hope for ever though, with Obasanjo you never know.
For babyboyz and others who beleive that Obasanjo does not have his hand on this mayhem, I say you are all in a state of denial. Please come off it and think rationally and use your commom sense to review presented facts. If you do that you can only come to the conclusion that Obasanjo is behind Anambra killings and destruction of properties.

Let me ask you: Why are the people of Anambra not rising to the occasion to get rid of Chris Ubah's political thuggery and Chris Ngige's bad faith in a brokered deal? Would it be they could care less for loss of properties and human lives in their state just because it's none of their business? I don't get it! I really have a problem with situations like this when you insinuate it doesn't bother you at a terrible cost to the state of Anambra.

I believe you are deliberately being roguish with your assertion that I in any way exonerate OBJ from the horrible mess going on in Anambra. If there is anyone in a state of denial, it is those of you who will not see the fact that the problem engulfing Anambra is more of a homegrown thing than an Abuja manipulation.
It is the same Anambra state that witnessed much unrest during Mbadinuju regime due to the same issue of godfatherism. Remember how many people who died then? And it is from such seed that have germinated into this harvest of arson and wanton destruction of lives and properties.
If you don’t accept your problem as a problem, then you will be inept in looking for solution and that is what is wrong with you guys. OBJ is just an infinitesimal part of the problem in Anambra, the bigger problem is right there in the heartland, and if you are able to solve the bigger problem, the smaller one will evaporate.
quote:I believe you are deliberately being roguish with your assertion that I in any way exonerate OBJ from the horrible mess going on in Anambra. ~~~bababoyz
bababoyze,
If you do not exonerate Obj. why don't you denounce his clandestine participation/involvement in the nayhem being dealt to the people of Anambra by Obj's cronies.
Better yet bababoyze, why don't you publicly and clearly state in this forum and thread that Obasanjo's fingerprints are all over this destruction of lives and property in Anambra.
I wait to read you say so.

ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS: THE CONVERSION OF BABZ
Umunwannem,
Having been to the "heartland" through his sources, (severally now), I hope Babz has not hypnotized many into believing in his new found dedication to the Igbo cause! If so, Babz should list for us how Iyiola Omisore has been apprehended and punished by this administration for killing Bola Ige, or even how Babz has personally dealt with Fryo who has been released back into the Ile-Yoruba public. Babz should also tell us:
what is happening to the former AD governor of Oyo state Lam Adesina and his wife.
What has been repeatedly dealt Olusegun Osoba in Ogun state
What was inflicted upon Osoba, Adebayo, Tinubu, less than a year ago by govt troops chanting Hausa war songs (outside Osoba’s home) while having placed the trio under house arrest, for Tinubu’s crime of having entered Ogun state without first gaining permision from Gbenga Daniels
Babz could even tell us how AD which deferred to PDP to allow their kinsman retain the presidency, fared in the gubernatorial elections.
They say “charity begins at home”. We have now heard many proverbs about lizards and poison from Babz, one hopes he is applying these in his own backyard. Apart from that, In order to really woo us over, he may have to go and do one of those fantastic makeovers we see on reality TV, otherwise, he may stay with the clown outfit and continue the entertainment definitely needed for these sober times.

Now that this two buffoons have embraced and have said they have made peace. Who is going to pay for the destruction. Some of the things distroyed can't not be replaced. Why can't Igbo People now take matter into their own hands and rid us all these two idiots.
The Igbos have governed nigeria. The difference is that during the Igbo days, unlike the 34-year yoroba/hausa disasterous misrule that began in 1970, Nigeria, particularly Eastern Nigeria was a model of economic growth, acknowledged throughout the world. In those days things worked and they worked well!
It is frightening why you nigerians are so proud of hausa/yoroba control of government since 1970 with nothing to show for it. It really says something very negative about the culture of yoroba/hausa people of nigeria: You people give the world reasons to find a lower standard for Africans!
What is happening in Anambra today further illustrates that yoroba incompetence. It shows that the semi-literate thug that runs nigeria is totally clueless. But it takes nothing away from the proven can-do Igbo way.

HOPE for the return of lasting peace to Anambra State was raised by the principal actors to the dispute in Abuja yesterday.
After a meeting of the Presidential Committee on the Resolution of the Crisis, Governor Chris Ngige and his estranged political sponsor, Mr. Chris Uba pledged to forget their differences in the interest of the state.
While Ngige pledged to make more sacrifices to engender peace in the state, Uba said that Anambra would never be turned to a war theatre again.
The duo proceeded to embrace each other, the second time since the fresh hostility began.
The governor described the recent crisis as a turning point in the history of the state, declaring it as a dark moment.
He said that as a father of all in the state, he would make every sacrifice to end the crisis, which he admitted had taken much toll on the people and the state.
Ngige said that crisis would have no place in the state any longer, lamenting that all that Anambra inherited from the old Eastern Region had been destroyed in the violence.
The governor whose face bore palpable agony, called on his political rivals to exhibit similar gesture.
He said: "We are at a turning point in the history of Anambra and in the life of our party because of these festering crises. This is a dark mo`ment in Anambra. We are therefore determined to mark the end of these crises. I, as a father, will make every sacrifice that will bring peace.
"I don't want the people to suffer what they have suffered again. We have lost all that we inherited from the old Eastern Region and old Anambra State. I call on Chris Uba to continue on the path, which we have started today so that our people will not suffer anymore," Ngige said.
The governor continued: "We have all learnt our lessons and the lesson is a bitter one. We will not give the devil any chance in Anambra State again. Anambra will come out stronger." Ngige praised President Olusegun Obasanjo for setting up the committee and assured that with the commitment demonstrated by the stakeholders, peace would soon return to the state.
On his part, Uba described yesterday as his happiest day because the meeting was characterised by moments of home truth.
He assured that both parties would announce before the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday (tomorrow) that the matter had been resolved.
Recalling his mood on the day of the recent violence, Uba said that he wept after watching the extent of damage on the television.
Today is my happiest day, we started the meeting with truth. I promise that we will continue with this effort. Before the next meeting on Wednesday we will tell you that everything is over. I meant well to bring my friend, Ngige on board. We didn't come there to destroy prop
