Howard Dean was the darling of anti-Bush Democrats. Then, Dean came a disappointing third in Iowa and gave the "I have a Scream" speech. Senator John Kerry won in Iowa. Tonight, Kerry won the New Hamshire primaries, and Howard Dean came second. What happened to the Howard Dean campaign? Is Howard Dean finished? Who will the Democrats select as their flagbearer against Bush?

I think Howard Dean's campaign is dead as that Egbeomo forum you started died. Kerry will be the democratic flag bearer. Matching Kerry with Either General Clark or Senator Edwards will give Bush Problem in the south. At least give Democrat a split in the south, with that scenario Bush will be in trouble, because kerry/Clark/Edwards will take Northeastern States and New England states. The western States except may be Arizona will also go to Kerry. That leaves Midwestern States as battle ground States.
Plus if the quagmaire in Irag continues, and Bush is unsucessful in handing power to Iragis by June which right now doesn't look promising, Bush will be in trouble, then all of a sudden what looked like invisible Bush two months ago after the capture of saddam, will start looking like Bush senior all over again. At least Bush senior won a war and still lost, right now Jr have not won the Irag war, and he may go down with it.

Last night, Super Tuesday, John Kerry wrapped up the fight for the Democratic ticket. It will be Kerry vs Bush come November. But, John Edwards who did not win a single state last night seemed so happy. Maybe he was just relieved that the whole thing was over. Howard Dean won vermont, his home state, even though he dropped out of the race. Bush is on his way out, like father like son, one term and you are out.

Edwards actually won South Carolina and I am not so sure Kerry is about to dislodge Bush. Kerry's record in the senate makes him very vulnerable, expect to see the Bush people launch a vicious attack on his voting record this weekend. Unfortunately for his fans Kerry voted for and supported virtualy all the things Bush is being criticized for. The biggest threat to Bush coming back to power is the economy. Assuming there is no recovery by summer, expect some abracadabra tax refund or even Greenspan releasing high powered figures on a jobless recovery.
The homosexual rampage is equally bound to hurt the democrats especially in the swing states of Ohio and Florida.Expect this issue to play an even bigger role than abortion ever has. Least I forget Mel Gibson has done Bush a great favour. The christian right is all fired up with so much "passion" this easter Bush may just have a good thanksgiving.
On the foreign scene, Musharraf will have to deliver Usama or at least flush him out of Pakistan into the the waiting hands of Rumsfeld or loose his nuclear weapons. That deal has been sealed and I guess the timing is all that matters. Imagine the Iraqi handover completed by July, Usama captured or killed by september with Saddam already in jail. It sure does look like Bush may be coming back. I tell you the democrats have not done their homework very well.
