I have always wondered why the late Mr. Obafemi Awolowo’s face is immortalized on the Naira. The man was never qualified for such a national hour that should be bestowed only on former Presidents and Prime Ministers. If you were never a national icon and just a regional demagogue, such prestigious honors should only be a mirage to you and your supporters. This is one of the reasons (although not economical) why the naira keeps sliding when compared to the dollar. We are not even considering that this guy was a way criminal and those that he perpetrated his criminal and genocidal acts on have to look at this rimmed face every time they pay for something. Nigerians need to protest that this man’s face be removed from the naira for the good of the country.

Your observation is an accurate one. Awolowo was nothing but a tribal demagogue and war monger. His face should be removed from everything outside his Area Boy Yorubaland.

His face and those of other nigerian leaders should remain exactly where they are. Removing his picture from the naira will not bring relief from suffering to even a little cockroach in doom-bound Nigeria.

His face fits perfectly on the naira note. The naira currency is an evil invention of Anti-Christ-Europe just like doom-bound Nigeria. Awolowo, a product of Anti-Christ-Europe, was an indoctrinated evil puppet. Thus these two evils fit together very well.

Think about it: Would you like to have your picture on something as evil as the anti-christ-european created doom-bound-nigerian naira note?

Interesting take, but the guy was Anglican although he may have also been an Ogboni member or belong to some other secret society like the Awoist (whatever that means) late Mr. Bola Ige.
