The Israeli Ambassador to BiafraNigeria says he is certain that Nd'Igbo are descendants of Jews. Is that correct? If he is, what is Israel doing to help its brethren who are stranded in BiafraNigeria?

The question is what are Ndigbo doing for themselves ? I don't subscribe to this "begging bowl" mentality that seems to be creeping into Igboland in the name of Nigerianization.

As could be noticed above, it is always others who tell Africans their origin. Why? Because we refused to write our own history.
I read somewhere that the only people in Nigeria whose origin has not been traced by the British is the Igbo. If today an Israeli envoy to Nigeria decided to change it, then it is for the same reason as above. If on his arrival to Nigeria, he read that the Igbo originated from nowhere or that the Jews originated from Igbo, he wouldn't have tried to change it. The second reason why he came up with the fiction was because we buy them. If we start making use of our brains, it won't happen.
The French teach their colonies in Africa that they are descendants of De Gaulle. It is time we write our history before others manipulate again the younger generations.
what matters is what we teach our children. If we don't tell them anything, then outsiders will do the job in their own favour.

Those who want outsiders and some lost Igbos to tell them who we are, or should be are free to be so told. It is not true that we Igbos dont have WRITTEN history as it is being speculated. Nd'Igbo do indeed have history (written and oral). All people have to do is to do some hard research and to contribute to research work by some well-meaning Igbos who have been trying everything humanly possible to write Igbo history as it was/is and not as some people from without want it to be told. Since we humans are an evolving specimen, and history itself an evolvimg process, it will always be common practice to associate one peoples' history, language or culture to another, or vice-versa. So if an Isreali says that we Igbos "are Jews," it is left for us Igbos to tell him and others who think in that line that that it is NOT true. But to do that we have to give evidence to debunk the claim.
As it is said, "Those who do not know or forget their history are better of dead":

If we dont want others to tell us who we are, then we should learn to tell ourselves and others who we are. The ball is in our court.

That Igbos are linked to the jews has always been an exciting topic.But I think the debate can be elevated now that a high ranking Israli official has added his voice.I have been aware of the much touted cultural affinity and wish they are tue.I have refused, however, to succumb to the idea that Igbos are Jews because more research by anthropologists is called for.Again I am persuaded that it could be more appropriate to say that jews are Igbos instead of the other way round.I think by adaptation the Igbos have occupied this region as long as the jews may claim to have occupied Palestine.We match them in population, land mass culture and religion.It smacks of complex to seek to take our bearing from the jews instead of the other way round.At least lets not give it away on a platter of gold that Igbos are Jews.Let us prove first that Jews are not Igbos.Then we can accept that Igbos are Jews. That is classroom scientific method.
