It is that time of the year when we celebrate the Igbo Heritage month of MAY. As part of my contribution, I'm kick starting events here with some popular Biafra war songs. Feel very free to join in. Ha, it could betray your age.
Hail Biafra!

This past Sunday May 16th, a special Igbo Mass was said for Biafran Heros, at St Elizabeth Anne Sethon Catholic Church, in Ontario California. The Mass was was requested by Igbo Heritage Foundation. Fada Stanley Onyegbule, paid a special tribute to over 3 million Biafrans who died defending our father land. May their soul rest in perfect peace.
Ndewo nu, in celebration of Igbo heritage month, I am inviting some non Biafran friends to watch a documentary of the Biafran war and see for themselves the lost opportunity of the black race. I am glad umu Igbo are now recognizing the importance of Igbo Heritage month.
The songs I can pick out of the video include the following
1. Gowon tibe tibe tite Ojukwu na ura Gowon tibe tibe tite ojukwu na ura Mgbe Ojukwu tee la ebelebe egbuo la
2. Onye nwe anyi nye anyi amuma ihe nye anyi amuma ihe zuru oke ka anyi merie awusa ndi na amaghi Chukwu tigbuo ha, zo gbuo ha ....ooo nna ma E ga kwe

I am glad that the Igbo Heritage Month of May has taken off. Back home in Africa and throughout Igbo Diaspora, word is spreading that May is Igbo Heritage Month. Once again, Nd'Igbo as a people have rejected the plot by outsiders to dictate the time, place, and manner in which we celebrate our heritage, honor our heroes, or package our civilization to the world. I understand that the Foundation is leading the Igbo effort in that direction. Biafra mentioned the service at St Elizabeth Anne Sethon Catholic Church, in Ontario California. Indeed, that service was one of the many events supported by the Heritage and its sister organizations for this year's Igbo Heritage Month. That is only the beginning. Lectures, symposia, and cultural events will flag off Igbo Heritage Month in the future.
Below, is my rendition of a US Army Cadence. I first posted it on this board in 2001. Enjoy!

War should always be the last of all the possible means. It is commonly agreed that "he who fights and runs away will live to fight another day". Yet, in our times democracy, which in itself is an ongoing process, has made it possible for all kinds of groups and groupings to make their voices heard loud and clear without resorting to any death-threats, war-glorifications or violence. It is actually possible to achieve sovereignty without war and violence. When a group is totally convinced of the necessity to achieve their goal without giving any thoughts to war, then a way will be shown and given unto that group. Chanting war songs of a war of vanity which killed millions is therefore an embarrassing but undebatable revelation of the true intent of the Biafrans in this forum.
I dimly recall a reggae musician who had this line in one of his songs:

I read and was told "democracy is fought for" it does not come on a platter of gold especially when one is unfortunate to find himself in a third world (backward, uncivilized) country.
The Aburi Accord was supposed to achieve peace of course Gowon wanted to rule at all cost.

So did Mr Ojukwu.
The difference here is that Gowon didn't sent millions of his nigerian people, children and sucklings, into an untimely death of starvation as Mr Ojukwu did unto the people living in the former South-East Nigeria sector.

That flag you have posted here is a symbol of Yoruba/hausa corruption, incompetent management and disregard for black wellbeing. On the other hand, the rising sun on the red-black-green represents early morning for black strength, creativity, industrial production, technology and progress.
It's really disturbing how you all have accepted mediocrity for your country nigeria.

I found the first and the last songs online. It was on a website about the women of Biafra. I heard the song in the middle from my dad.
1) Biafra kunie bia buso naijiria...n'okwa agha Biafra kunie bia buso naijiria...n'okwa agha O bu maka gini?. N'ihi na ha bu ndi n'amaghi chineke....ndi na'amaghi chineke'.. kelu fa. 2) Imee la Ojukwu Imee la Imee la Ojukwu Imee la Aga m esoro umuaka ibe m lay ambush, were ezigbo madison gbagbuo ndi awusa.(madison was a common biafran rifle/sub-machine gun) 3) kwa mbele mbele o hitie la o kwam bele mbele kwa mbele mbele o hitie la o kwam bele mbele Agboghobia jere ogbakuba onaghi ala kwa mbele mbele. Agboghobia jere ogbakuba onaghi ala o kwa mbele.
Chiboy I think your last post was the best. That was hilarious indeed.
Enye'm gowon nwa nti-nti oge Mu agbaa ya egbe n'isi Enye'm gowon nwa nti-nti oge Enye'm gowon nwa nti-nti oge Mu agbaa ya egbe n'isi Enye'm gowon nwa nti-nti oge Umu Biafra Unu ekwe kwala ka gowon chia unu Unu ekwe kwala ka gowon chia unu Ochichi ga esi n'aka Ojukwu bia rue mgbe ebighi ebi Anyi achoghi ochichi gowon eze gworo.
My signature message below is in fact my interpretation of a marching song of Biafran forces that fought in the Aba sector and adjoining fronts. The short but very motivating song goes as follws:
Mgbe'm nuru na hausa di na Aba. Oh Mgbe'm nuru na hausa di na Aba. Oh Mgbe'm nuru na hausa di na Aba. Oh Obodo oma ahu Ometuru'm n'obi ka'm cheta Obodo oma ahu Ometuru'm n'obi ka'm cheta

Umu Igbo/Biafra:
Please we should continue to ignore all these achikota ekwe onu that seek to distract all the time.
I doff my hat for the Igbo Heritage Foundation for their leading role in using the defining resources of our time (ICT), to paint a true picture of who we are.
Deme nu o!
and another inspiring song...
Dibe Dibe Dibe Dibe ndidi ka nma Onye omere ya dibe nu o A Biafra nwe nmeri
