Folks,
The misrule of many years by clueless leaders is now setting stage, for the unthinkable.
This is a good news for me. what about you? Read and enjoy.

OBASANJO RAISES ALARM OVER PLANS TO DISINTEGRATE THE COUNTRY.

LERE OJEDOKUN, Abuja

PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday raised alarm that some unnamed allies were plotting to see to the disintegration of the country because they considered Nigeria "too big and potentially strong."

He alleged that the great human and natural resources the country was endowed with, have become a source of envy and jealousy for which the enemies were doing everything possible to pull the country down.

"I have no doubt in my mind that part of our problem in this country is that, others out of jealously believe that we are too big and potentially strong and, therefore, anything they can do to cut us to size, they will do. But then it remains our responsibility not to allow that to happen," he stated.

President Obasanjo spoke when a delegation of the Sokoto Caliphate came to thank him at the State House, Abuja for attending the bicentennial anniversary of the great kingdom recently.

He warned the citizens against playing to the hands of enemies while urging them to consciously embrace the legacies of past leaders who he said contributed to the unity, development, upliftment and sustenance of one indivisible Nigeria.

The President restated that Sokoto Caliphate was a symbol of influence covering an overwhelming large territory, even as he noted that one was sometimes tempted to demand for the return of those areas under the sovereignty of the caliphate which were cut off by the former colonial powers.

Ephasising the importance of history to human development, he commended the Sultan, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido and others for making the bicentennial anniversary a success.

President Obasanjo, therefore, urged Nigerians to always learn from their past leaders even as he lauded Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa for his steadfastness to the hosting of the event. Bafarawa was part of the delegation.

In his remarks, leader of the delegation and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Maccido, informed the President that northern rulers and leaders had initiated new strategies to make the zone free of ethnic and religious crises.

Among the strategies, he explained, were moves to revive the spirit of brotherliness, tolerance, mutual understanding, respect and peaceful co-existence among people of diverse backgrounds living in the northern states.

Alhaji Maccido further said that the initiatives, being packaged by the Conference of Northern Traditional Rulers, Clerics and Leaders of Thought, also included plan to distribute copies of some literature, produced for celebrating the anniversary to the people.

This, he asserted, would serve as a source of inspiration and enlightenment because the citizenry could imbibe virtues on the past leaders of the caliphate through the books.

"We are confident that with dedication and unity of purpose, we can once again be our brothers’ keepers and good neighbours wherever we reside to make a living in our great country, Nigeria." he stated.

Those on the delegation included the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris and Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Mustapha Jokolo among others.

Alhaji Maccido later presented gifts to President Obasanjo and Vice President Atiku Abubakar who also participated fully in the grand event which attracted guests from all walks of life.

Obasanjo is scared?

Obasanjo's statement was a way of telling his visitors that he is with them and willing to crush those Southerners clamouring for SNC. He needed to imply that to them to guarantee his safty.

This man is the worst thing that ever happened in Nigeria.
