Yesterday, new jersey Governor, James McGreevey, announced his resignation after revealing that he is gay and that he had an adulterous affair with a man.
Is this Republican witch-hunt? McGreevey is being sued for an undisclosed matter, and he indicated he was being blackmailed. Lately, gay Americans have been loud about same-sex marriage and other issues. McGreevey was an asset to gays as they campained for their rights. Should McGreevey have resigned?

I don't see how these revelations can help the Kerry campaign. Maybe my good friend, NwaBiafra, could explain. These gay people, who also destroyed the Anglican Communion should have the decency to announce their gayness before running for public office.

I am sure other facts will soon become evident on this issue, but from the little I gleaned, McGreevey came out of the closet because the Israeli citizen Golan Cipel whom he had the homosexual relationship with demanded $5 million from the governor. Perhaps, to disarm this would-be extortionist or blackmailer, the Governor decided to hit the airwaves with a frank evagination of his marital infidelity.
Now, it is worthwhile to remember that this is his second marriage, and scarcely does marital infidelity become grounds for such a monumental decision. After all, he was not required to say the cause of his first divorce and neither has the fact that he was divorced once hampered his ability to seek for political office nor indeed to effectively govern. What the people of New Jersey need to be asking at this time is if there are other improprieties on the part of this governor that forced this late admission and if such improprieties (if they exist) ought to be pursued through legal or other means. For example: why did the Governor appoint his male lover and political novice, Golan Cipel to the post of New Jersey state’s Director of Homeland Security with an $110,000 annual salary?
Some liberals and Gay equality-niks might try to make this a matter of republican homosexual witch-hunting but at this point in time, there are, I believe, other important matters to be explored in this case; issues other than a discussion situated around the familiar squabbles of the liberal/Gay lobby and their equally truculent conservative counterparts.

Damian Not so fast my good right wing friend. Americans and savvy enough to differentiate from Republicn rehethoric and reality. This will not do anything to Kerry. Republicans like you don't believe in clean game, you like to play dirty.
