Kalu the apologetic Governor must be scared that his toy is about to be taken away. His apologies to Nigeria didn,t stop MASSOB, his laughing at MASSOB call for mass action blew up in his face. His crying for mercy from Anenih still have not gotten him favor, now he is scared of the khaki boys. Wonder never cease to amaze us.
If that is the car that was involved, and that pierced hole is supposed to be a bullet’s mark, then I do think that the man may not have died by that particular bullet unless it ricocheted off of the passenger seat.

My brother what is especially funny is that this is probably a junior Hausa officer in charge of one of the zones.
Kalu seems to have been fully prepared to refer to the boy as "Your excellency sir".
In his mind he probably imagines he's building bridges among the "greater tomorrow" crop so he can use them to intimidate and subdue fellow Easterners sometime in the future.
Ordinarily Kalu would be that boys boss if the Igbo nation were strengthened in a confederate arrangement (had "Nigeria" been a legitimate entity), as each grouping would have their own formiddable leverage, and officers assigned from a weak central govt to each zone would have to routinely do their job without being profusely thanked with servile and naked pandering so much as to shame a casual observer.
Instead of seeking through the front door to consolidate the strength of their manhood together with their Igbo brethren (MASSOB and others), they prefer to postrate and lick their way in through the back door in a system that increasingly appears doomed to failure.
What a shame!

My man I hear you. I have the sense though that that bullet shot from close quarters, was fired at an acute angle by someone standing nearest to the passenger at elbow length and with a pistol.
I assume the BMW windscreen is of tempered glass, otherwise it would have shattered to bits upon bullet impact. given that, if the shot was from the direct front, you would be right, but the bullet hole would have been much smaller and more of a circle than an ellipse.
In this case the bullet hole appears bigger and more egg shaped with the smaller tip of the hole pointing to the direction from which possibly fired.
Could I be reading too much into a mere picture? Possibly.
The main point is that the police could actually be right that the impact of a small bump by the vehicle against a guardrail upon a man shot at point blank range (for whatever reason by the police) may have finalized the mans ireedeemable demise, but Only in a banana republic can the truth be strecthed like that, with such authoritative alacrity.
Then they now proceeded to detain his female companion. "To protect her"?, and I'll bet you possibly against her will, and with unrelenting intimidation.
Only in a "kai-kai" republic. (apologies MeBiafran).
quote:"The police were attracted to the scene where they met a lone fatal motor accident involving Captain Jerry Agbeyegbe as his BMW saloon car, silver colour, with reg. No. DB 244 EKY crashed into a culvert along the road. Found in the car was a young lady, Miss Juliet Okonkwo in her late twenties. She was unhurt inside the vehicle.
"On interrogation, Miss Juliet Okonkwo volunteered information to the effect that Capt. Jerry picked her up at about 0230 hrs, at Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island and headed straight to Alapere, Ketu through the Third Mainland Bridge. She claimed that she slept off during the journey until she was woken up by the loud bang caused by the accident.
"The call girl has made useful statement to the police. She is now in police custody while the body of the Airline Pilot had been deposited in the morgue for autopsy," Ajao said in the statement.
How the Igbo nation have fallen so low that they have to be linked to this police mess I just still cannot get. A call girl given an Igbo sounding name? Please. Not to denigrate anybody but to my understanding, most female pros are from Benin.

SCAPEGOAT Soon Juliet Okonkwo will tearfully confess to the crime, the usual “armed robbery” suspects would be paraded around, the case will die down, and life will go on.
BIGGER PICTURE My interest in this case has nothing to do with Agbeyegbe who appears to be merely one of those Oshiomhole types who pride themselves as being outspoken, while being just as dastardly corrupt and complicit as others in the system they purport to fight. In fact if one had met this guy and asked him how things were in “Nigeria”, he would probably have vowed that there was nothing wrong with “Nigeria”.
My interest is in the criminal “third world” creativity with which the low-lives who implement the system in that banana/ “kai-kai” republic continue to exist without challenge from anyone, from “rights activists” to “civil society” to “religious leadership” to “traditional leadership” to “proffessors” to “victims” to “govt leadership” to “average citizens”.
Blind hatred for Igbos has so dumbed down a whole supposed nation to sub-mediocre stone age status.
A collection of groupings of people have become so bound, gagged and repeatedly victimized by the excesses of their own complicity in wickedness that they have become desensitized to ineptitude and outright official criminality The blatant excuses rendered to explain away despicable official crime, has thus become so brazen and inexcusably COMIC as to reflect complete scorn against the intelligence of all victims.
These classic COMIC excuses are what I hope to use this thread to continue to highlight, without going too far into the specific personal stories involved.
Ednut,
Prostitution is known as the oldest profession, and exists in every nation there will ever be, including in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and even during Taliban Afghanistan. The mass production commercialization and exportation of prostitution in inordinate numbers by the specific group you refer should not be confused by the possibility that a Juliet Okonkwo could just as well be practicing that prostitution as a lone individual in Aba just as in Lagos.

I doubt if you can be too far off with your statement. That’s exactly what one hears even from those who are obviously in worst shape than others, “nigeria is not worst than other African nations after all America is one million years old,” they screech. And I’m usually like another oluku definitely.
Regarding the so-called Juliet presence reek with suspicious aura. The attempt to link this poor girl to whatever might have happened is only to help their puny argument to what really happened. This is a COVER UP! It is not beyond them to plant that poor girl at the accident scene with instructions to shut the hell up or… How can one bear that many, twenty-bullet shots in his body as a result of lone accident? I think what happened here is that the nigerian fool, obusunjo, that is, sent his killing squad to snuff life out of this fella by shooting him to death, which caused the minor crash to occur.
The sad aspect of all these is this dude could easily be someone who was vehement on BNW in defense of his killer. Like Ukaobasi stated he could’ve at one point or the other hailed to high heavens the performance of obasanjo just because an Igbo was involved in denouncing his hommie. Is this one of those Karma stuff? That not withstanding I’m still upset over his death, it shouldn’t have to be this way, man. Guys, why is obasanjo allowed to kill just like that, on a whim? I hope the awusa folks are taking account because payback time buddy is just around the bend. Any dissenter? Wanna bet?

The said allowances that led to the petition by Nadabo are constituency allowances which is 50 percent of the basic salary of each member and amounts to N397, 042.50, [/b]recess allowance[/b] of N79, 408 and wardrobe allowance of N158, 817 all supposed to be paid once a year.

These buffoons for all I care could go there in the nude. What’s this madness about allowance for? Only in Nigeria though would a thief be given allowance for stealing and inaction. Go figure!

Come and see nigeria wonder, come and see nigeria wonder! Pardom me, I forgot where I was.
quote:IBB, Buhari, others to lose benefits All former military heads of state may be excluded from a sustenance package if the National Assembly passes a bill sent to it by President Olusegun Obasanjo. Sam Akpe, Abuja
Among the erstwhile military rulers are: Obasanjo; Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari;Gen Ibrahim Babangida;and Gen. Abdulsalami Abu-bakar; Gen. Yakubu Gowon; the late Gen. Sani Abacha; and the late Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi.
Also to lose their sustenance package are all former Chiefs of General Staff.
They include: Admiral Augustus Aikhomu; Vice-Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe; Chief Oladipo Diya; Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe; the late Maj.-Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua; Gen. David Ejoor and the late Maj.-Gen. Babatunde Idiagbon.
Under military regimes, the Head of State was regarded as the president while the Chief of General Staff was rated as the vice- president. Sustenance allowance is an upkeep allowance for some past public office holders.
There were indications last night that the decision to exclude former military rulers from the proposed package may be connected with a recommendation of the Human Rights Violations Investigations Commission, led by a former justice of the Supreme Court, Rt. Hon. Chukwu-difu Oputa.
The executive summary of the Oputa Panel’s report, which was made public last month by a group, Civil Society Forum, had frowned on the unconstitutional take-over of government.
An extract of the report read, “We further recommend that henceforth, the country must be governed by the constitution and in accordance with its provisions. No one who overthrows a government should expect to get away with it, no matter how long they govern unconstitutionally.” But while former military rulers lost out in the new bill, past elected leaders are favoured.
Those recommended as beneficiaries of the package are all former elected presidents; vice- presidents; former presidents of the Senate; and their deputies.
Others are former speakers of the House of Representatives and their deputies as well as all former chief justices.
Where any of these persons dies, his family would be entitled to the benefits as long as the spouse remains unmarried.
Besides huge salaries, all beneficiaries of the package would also enjoy all perquisites of office, ranging from free residential and office accommodations in any part of the country chosen by them.
Others are free medical treatment at any hospital in Nigeria or anywhere in the world, for them and members of their immediate families.
They would also be provided with personal staff, armed police security and secret service agents .
Free vehicles and drivers, diplomatic passport for life and full protocol commensurate with the office of any benefiting retiree would also be provided by government.
Me:Total bullsh.i.t!!!!!
To be excluded alongside past military rulers are all impeached presidents and vice-presidents, impeached presidents of the Senate and their deputies;as well as impeached speakers of the House and their deputies.
Our correspondent gathered on Monday in Abuja, that the exclusion of former military leaders, both living and dead from being beneficiaries of the package, would serve as one of the measures to make coups unattractive.
Parts of the Executive bill states that those generally exempted are former holders of the affected offices "who attained such offices otherwise than by Constitutional means," It also states that persons removed from such offices "by process of impeachment or compelled to resign for breach of any of the provisions of any Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria," are exempted.
The bill when passed into law, would be known as Remuneration of Former Presidents, Heads of Federal Legislative Houses and Chief Justices of the Federation (And Other Ancillary Matters) Act.
On receiving the assent of the President, the envisaged law will invalidate The Remuneration of Former Presidents and Heads of State (And Other Ancillary Matters) Decree 32 of 1999.
The bill stipulates that any person who has held two or more of such offices should be entitled to only benefits accruing to the highest of the offices in order of national precedence.
The exact financial estimates of the upkeep allowance is to be determined by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
It is however, not stated in the bill whether the proposed package would be in addition to the existing pension entitlements enjoyed by both the former military and civilian rulers.
The bill is also silent on whether former military rulers excluded from the proposed package would still enjoy their pensions prescribed in Section 84 (5-6) of the 1999 Constitution.
Me: Why should they? It was through the same coup the panel frowned upon that they came to office so why should they be rewarded?
Reminder: “We further recommend that henceforth, the country must be governed by the constitution and in accordance with its provisions. No one who overthrows a government should expect to get away with it, no matter how long they govern unconstitutionally.”
The section states that, "Any person who has held office as President or Vice President shall be entitled to pension for life at a rate equivalent to the annual salary of the incumbent President or Vice President,"
The section further states that, "Provided that such a person was not removed from office by the process of impeachment or for breach of any provisions of the Constitution.
"Any person granted by virtue of subsection five of this section shall be a charge upon the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation,"
In the bill under consideration, a former president would be entitled to a personal staff and a secretary; four armed policemen; a State Security Service officer; three renewable vehicles; and three drivers.
Besides the free medical treatment for him and his household, he would enjoy a 30-day vacation anywhere in the world at government expense.
He would also be entitled to a well-furnished five-bedroom house and well-furnished separate office in any location of his choice; a direct telephone line; among others.
A former vice- president would be entitled to almost the same provisions but with only two armed policemen, instead of four; a three- bedroom house; two cars with drivers, and others.
Benefits of any former President of the Senate and a Speaker would be the same except that they would have only one policeman each; one vehicle; and driver each and vacation within Nigeria. A former chief justice of the Federation; deputy president of the Senate; and the deputy speaker, will also enjoy the same level of sustenance provisions.
Me: All these in addition to whatever they stole from the people, right? The Justices’ inability to discharge their duties as charged by the constitution is rewarded too? Good job nigeria!
At the death of any of the beneficiaries, the national flag would be flown at half mast for specified number of days depending on who is involved.
All the beneficiaries of the package would receive salaries and other financial benefits being enjoyed by the present occupants of such offices with regular review.
The bill further states, "The remuneration of all former holders of any of the offices referred to in this Act shall be subject to review whenever there is an increase in the salary of the incumbent holder of that office," Section four of the bill authorises the Federal Government to make yearly provisions in its budgets for the remuneration and provision of the outlined facilities for the officers.
Section 2(1) of the bill specifically states that members of the families of deceased officers would utilise the annual payments as shall be determined by the RMAFC and prescribed by the National Assembly.
Such allowances would be applied for the upkeep of the spouse and education of the children of the deceased up to university level. - The Punch, Tuesday, February 08, 2005

It is very right to deny those khaki boys any benefits after they had so mercilessly looted, killed and exiled so many.In serious countries, most of them would be in self exile or jail for looting the national treasury and crimes against the people. But the question remains "IS BABA IYABO TRUELY SERIOUS OR THIS IS JUST ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE EMPTY THREATS?.Until one is surprised to see signs of the former, the later is Baba Iyabo`s usual stock in trade.Lip service all the time!

Any that fails to comply should be shot as an example to others.

This is old news. This law was debated and passed in 1999 or later date. During the debate a Bauchi senator in defense of the Juntas stated that if any Junta over throws the government and the people accepts him, the Junta will be recorgnised as the People's President. The southern law makers argued against it, the bill was passed. Obsanjo was the only qualified person to get benefits. This is one reason why Buhari and IBB wanted to rule again so they could get benefit.

This is the type of arrogant nonsense the north is used to but not for long. Who gave these people the idea that arewa or whatever should be placed above other ethnic forums? In fact Afenifere should take offense to this stupid demand by the arewas. I used Afenifere since their Igbo counterparts are still trying to gain traction although it should not give grounds for the awusa/arab banana demand.
quote: On Tuesday, the pro-northern organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) frowned at the official decision to equate it with the pan Yoruba group , Afenifere and the Igbo Ohanaeze, especially on equitable representation.
“Council urged the Chairman (Chief Sunday Awoniyi) to press for more representatives for ACF as it was considered inequitable to put ACF at par with Afenifere, Ohanaeze or the Ijaw National Congress (IJC),” a statement by the forum said. - Punch
