We have now seen that even a brain-dead Yoruba ethnic chauvinist such as Bolaji Alauko has followers. There is no scarcity of addys, bababoyzes, knights, and other Yoruba and pseudo-yoroba quislings willing to follow a doomed, poorly-educated, and socially ill-equiped Mobolaji Aluko.

Hence, while our erudite Anaedo is struggling to make head and tail out of the Alauko character, addy swears that his eyes hath seen "the coming of the YorEdolord, alauko." Shame!

Disgusting! Disgusting!! Disgusting!!!

Sister Joy

Dr Aluko Came back with an agenda, you don't stay away from a place for 3 years then all of a sudden come back. Aluko thought that BNW archive may have vanished or some of the things that happened was deleted. Now that he found out on the contrary do you see that he has went into hibernation.

Addy

Do you now see that the perceptions I hold about your behaviour since Bolaji showed up are shared by many ? Honestly I believed you were a more reasonable person than Aluko, professor or no professor, but to say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Dear Joy

Permit my intrusion. This posting was meant as a reply to you (read: The Rudolf I know). Before I could reply it was closed.

What informed the aforementioned posting was the question, "who is Rudolf Okonkwo"? Before I could reply, it was closed; hence CSE’s thread was a welcome opportunity to answer the question.

I have met the guy, and I know what he stands for. Joy’s posting is very balanced.

However Joy, allow me to disagree with you on the following: "It is a waste of valuable time to debate what should be a non-issue".

Did it ever occur to you that what addy in another thread called "crassly insensitive issue", most probably might have triggered a reaction from Rudolf.
This was informed by my analysis of what happened in 2002, as you (Joy) correctly re-produced.
I believe a revisit of the past is appropriate if we really mean not to make the same mistake. Remember, a wise guy once said; life is what happens while you are busy making other plans!
A non-issue is therefore a relative term.

More so, how and what we write about each other is not a waste of valuable time to debate what should be a non-issue.

On the question of "… surrogates trying to make Rudolf a saint".

Nkem can be called all things but not a surrogate, and I don’t see why answering a question candidly tantamount to making someone a saint. It is beyond my comprehension.

For the record, I have not been in contact with Rudolf since December 2003, I only wrote my candid opinion of him. I have never discussed his part in the unfortunate event Joy mentioned with him.

I believe we are all consenting adults, we should, ought to answer for ourselves.

Just putting the record straight.

Bro Nkem:

I agree with you. No issue ia a non-issue. I have said it here that no issue should be off limits. Joy must have used a little hyperbole there.

I was also going to make a post in that thread before it was closed. I cannot say that I really fully understand why CSE's thread was closed. Could someone explain? I was hoping to see another "Rules of the Road" explanation from the administrator. It didn't happen.

Maybe Fumi Ononide should look deep to see if anything is wrong with this story. I can’t for the life of me understand how the same man, IBB that was technically responsible for Abiola’s death would continue to receive such positive publicity from Abiola’s family. First it was his brother who became IBB’s campaign chief in Yorubaland and now an invite to his daughter’s wedding. See how much they worship MONEY yet the Igbo are the ones that ‘love’ it so, so much. What sense is there for this man's family to continue to insult his memory by the non-stop invite and dalliance with babangida who set the stage for their patriarch’s slaughter? Fumi Onopide please answer this simple question.

This will blow you away. Is this not what our Yoruba neighbors call iro? The CHIEF THIEF, IBB hailing what again?

IBB Hails Obasanjo's Anti-graft Crusade
By Abimbola Akosile and Olawale Olaleye, 04.15.2005

Former military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), yesterday in Lagos commended President Olusegun Obasanjo's anti-corruption drive describing it as exemplary and urged the citizenry to rise up and fight the scourge of corruption and graft in the country.

Babangida, who stated this while on a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Frederick Rotimi Alade William (SAN), said "government normally shows the way. This government is showing the way. This cankerworm of corruption involves both the government and the citizenry. While government leads the way in fighting corruption through due process of law, citizens must rise up and join the fight too."

Clad in an all-cream babaringa with cap to match, Babangida dismissed the likelihood of his being swept away by the war against corruption. "I do not get worried. I said it in 1989, I told my ministers then to be prepared to be called upon to account for their stewardship. It is the legitimate duty of every Nigerian to fight against corruption," he said.

His delegation include Brigadier Generals Raji Rasaki, Adetunji Olurin; former Head of Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan; Brigadier Generals Haliru Akilu, former Head of Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI); Colonel Kunle Togun, former Deputy Director of State Security Services (SSS); Chief Ishola Filani, past Chairman of Wema Bank; Keem Bello-Osagie, former UBA Chairman and Alhaji Umaru Ndanusa among others.

Asked about his 2007 presidential ambition and calls for his candidacy, Babangida said "I have not bandied it around and it is still being bandied around. Every Nigerian has a role to play. He either fulfills it or betrays it. Everyone here (gesturing at his key-men) has a role to play and we will continue to play it."

Addressing the Williams family, led by Chief Ladi Williams (SAN), Babangida said "on behalf of every Nigerian, we have come to pay our condolence to your family over the death of Chief Williams. He is, he was, and he still remains one of the greatest in this country. I wish you God's guidance and I pray that Allah may continue to give you the fortitude to bear the loss."

"It is a great loss. It is not easy but he has left an indelible mark in this country. Everybody knows who Chief Williams was. As far as Chief is concerned, we have always sought his advice on national issues. Once more, family members, please accept our condolence over the death of Chief. Thank you," he added.

Reportedly in Lagos to attend the wedding ceremony of one of late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola's daughters, Babangida said the Abiola family has always considered him a member.

Babangida wrote in the condolence register on the Black Table, "May Allah continue to bless the remains of our great Chief. Nigeria has lost one of its finest patriots. He served the country diligently. We shall continue to miss this great patriot."
