Guys and Gals:

What is this world coming to? Tony Blair took Britain to war in Iraq over non-existent WMDs. He has not resigned. Yet, David Blunkett, a poor blind man has been forced to resign his position as Britain's Home Secretary because according to these strange Brits, Blunkett
quote:
"did speed nanny's visa"
 -

They are talking about the Visa application of the nanny of Blunkett's ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Quinn.

Referring to BiafraNigerian politicians recently, Uche Nworah, a BNW columnist who lives in London, asked the question: "Will they ever do a Blunkett?" We all know that Africans never do a Blunkett, unless doing a Blunkett means getting their own Kimberly Quinn, no matter how ugly their quinn may be. Considering that so many people perished in the Iraq war, which Blair launched for questionable reasons, should the question in Britain not be, "why hasn't Blair done a Blunkett?" Or are these Brits just too jealous because poor blind Blunkett had some shim-shim with the gorgeous Miss Quinn, who would have shunned many of the seeing British government officials?

What the Blunkett is going on?

If the news is correct, my understanding is that David Blunkett willingly resigned but was not forced out of his post.
"That is why with enormous regret I have tendered my resignation to the prime minister today."

David Blunkett was treated like any other MP in Britain. He has not been discriminated against because of his disability. This was shown by his position as the home secretary in spite of his disability. Mr Blunkett instead has made immigration a hard nut to crack for foreigners living in Britain [those who have to renew their residence or work permit] He has decided to introduce many uncomfortable new immigration laws;
The introduction of ID card, which most Brits feel is authoritative and an intrusion into their private lives- putting all their details in a micro chip

What about the refusal of milk vouchers to Asylum seeking children and the detention of foreign suspects without trial.

Fast tracking the ex lover's nanny's visa might not have been a big issue if same was done for others.

Blessing and Chidi:

You beat me to it. I was wondering if the Blunkett affair belonged to my trivial Euro scum series but the fact that his powerful position had a direct bearing on the freedom of his fellow citizens has made what would have been "the tale of a randy blind man" a more serious issue.

This one is now more of a tragi-comedy. I doubt whether hollywood can best a plot that sees a visually impaired bloke in his late fifties wrapped in such a complicated triangle of love, lust, sex and babies. The trivial first:

Only Mr Blunkett can explain how he drew the lovely damsels to himself. Where they drawn to him out of pity before his darker and sinister side turned him from a victim to an amorous predetor? The story is that Quin is only one of many and the ladies were all in a serious meaningful relationship! Assuming Quin wanted to sample and experience being lusted after without a visual stimulus, how about the others like Denise Maguire

quote:
According to a newspaper report, the besieged minister had a five-month relationship with an Education Department secretary, Denise Maguire.

But what makes the claims particularly embarrassing for Blunkett is that Maguire was reportedly living with another of the then Education Secretary’s officials, Andy Hurdle.

And, most damning of all, it is claimed that after Hurdle voiced his deep grievances over Blunkett’s behaviour, he was promoted to another position in the department.

Again the partner was "fast tracked" into another department! Another sex, another dollar. Odi egwu!

Someone suggested that Mr Blunkett's pulling power could be explained by the fact that his bearded frame and well chiselled features makes him look like some sculptured figure from ancient greek mythology. Hopefully the BNW resident sex "alchemist" will shed some light on this(LOL)

 -

Whatever the case Mr Blunkett has always found a way of fighting his battles as he is presently showing in a battle to prove he fathered the two children of a wealthy married women!

Interestingly, the "Quin" of hearts also has a bit of "something of the night" about her. KIMBERLY Quinn had an affair with another man while she was in a relationship with David Blunkett, it was claimed last night.

Blessing is right in saying David Blunkett resigned but methinks it was more a case of jumping before you get pushed. His dramatic delivery was carefully choreographed to win the sympathy of an emotional public.

Some of us didn't bite. Blunkett was a guy most of us die hard far left labour pinned our hopes on when he went to westminster. He had the right pedigree, born in working class steel Shefield and all that cack. Unfortunatley he went there and started trying to be more Right than BNP! His understanding of proportionality and the Human Rights convention was the butt of jokes among lawyers. He was forever seeking to lock up people in the name of "common good" .In classrooms he is or was David Blunderer as he went from one legal blunder to another. Remember this?

Yet, Blunkett would have gotten away with all that since Blair's "New" labour was to package fascism in labour blanket. But his biggest down fall was the disparaging comments he made about his fellow cabinet colleagues. No other group of people are as ruthless in protecting number one as politicians.

One of the labour cabinet team members went public to predict Blunkett's demise before Christmas 2004.

It has come to pass.

Something about Sex, Sight and Sons!
