THE GUARDIAN
Sunday, December 26, 2004
from GORDI UDEAJAH, OWERRI
John Ekeh Okoro, 44, acclaimed successful Nigerian trader, was hacked to death by his own village relative penultimate Thursday in New York.
He was stabbed at about 7am by Uduma Okechuckwu, 39. New York police arrested the alleged assailant at the spot of the crime.
Sources said that after he had killed Okoro, Okechuckwu continued walking along as police cars started arriving at the spot. They took him for the victim at first until he told them that he was the attacker; and he was promptly arrested.
The deceased owned a thriving African store in the popular Bronx terminal market in New York. He was reputedly the most successful Nigerian trader of African foodstuff in the New York region and his wholesale business was reported to gross about $1 million annually. He was married with three children.
Okoro, as Nigerians in New York famously knew him, was certified dead before the ambulance called in could pick him. Reports said he was stabbed multiple times.
There had been reported a misunderstanding between Okoro and Okechukwu, but the two practically refused to state the main cause of disaffection between them.
A friend of the deceased was reported in the local media, as saying, "John had complained to him that his relative was on drug and had threatened him in the past."

quote:
The source disclosed that it was Okoro who helped Okechukwu get to the United States and wondered why the same Okechukwu would murder his benefactor...The Guardian
again, just another tragic case of ibo killing ibo. stories as such happen in nigeria on a daily basis. It's no different wherever ibos settle down in the world. gruesome and sad tragic stories of ibos killing ibos are known in japan, new zealand, australia, england, russia, south africa and elsewhere. to make matters worse, the guys' relatives back home in nigeria now want to indulge themselves in their superstitious rituals to further desecrate the body and bring more shame on nigeria as a whole. imagine those villagers wanting the united states to allow a murderous lunatic to travel to nigeria to perform a juju ritual? how does that portray nigeria and africa as a whole to the united states authorities? SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

ibo killing ibo for money and greed! no news really! no wonder the biafra of 1967 was a shamefull failure. remember major emmanuel ifeajuna and samuel agbam? even here at the bnw board we see ibos verbally killing their fellow ibo brothers, while both camps are fighting for a sovereign state of biafra. i wonder how many bloody coups biafra will suffer once it is actualized?!

The world looks on and laughs.
(to disperse all wrong impressions of being biased, it should be mentioned that other tribes men and women kill themselves like animals outside naija as well. there are horrible stories of nigerian (yoruba, bini etc.) murders in italy, japan...).

this is the 21st century where computer literacy is no longer specialized knowledge restricted to a few. it is now common knowledge. if you want the facts, they are all over the internet. google or better still metacrawl your way through the net and you'll get to the facts.

what is google? what is metacrawler?

i've answered your question very well. who do you think you are? if you need a houseboy to give you information which are easily obtainable on the web, then go somewhere else to find that kind of slave for yourself.

Glad to have the master Igbo HATER back. Knight/othniel. As long as your Igbo hate continue, your life will remain painful as you can see. Where is gowon and all the other tiv minorities that were used by their awusa lords?

Biafra today is alive and well no questions otherwise why does aremu get jittery over the mere mention of a name that scares him silly?
A great number of Igbo intellectuals abandoned the silly country of yours hence its rapid comatose state. Have you wondered why a big for nothing useless country you call niagaria does not have any national airline? The moment Igbo engineers left ECN, it became a dark land also. So, your questions are to put it lightly, childish. With your claim to intellectualism one expected that you would show anger towards the degradation your hopeless country became instead you sign on with multiple handles until you get kicked out again. I say without mixing words that you're knight/othniel and you know it. Our exchange usually starts up cordial until you go into your usual Igbo rage to expose the real you. I'm slowly but surely working up to that since it looks like you never learned valued lessons from past encounters. Watch out for the Web Chief!

ibo engineers left naija to where? where are they today? what are they doing for the betterment and improvement of iboland? are they busy drafting a national constitution, or are they busy building their own houses? could it be that ibo intellectuals have abandoned iboland?

You must be blind for not noticing that your godfather, the master thief you call aremu is the one destroying Igboland so what role should our engineers and scientists play? Come back to get killed the same fashion obasanjo killed Bola Ige? What exactly is your point? Come out and let's have it, will you? They don't need to draft any lousy "constitution" after all the one your yoroba kin drafted more than forty years ago never saw the light of day. Cowards that never see how conflicted they are is what you guys are. Few years ago, you guys whined and cried how abacha and his awusa folks marginalized and dumped you but for five years now you’re in control without any survival plans beyond 2007. I can't wait for the awusa to lay their hands on that office again then we shall sit down and talk about obasanjo and yoroba mistakes.

huuh??!
the last time i checked it was ngige and ubah, two rotten sons of the oil-drenched ibo soil, together with their errand Bakassi houseboys who were busy destroying iboland! AIN'T THAT RIGHT, mebiafran? why then do you put the blame on that potbellied, illiterate, intellectually deficient, moronically retarded fat boy aremu?

and by the way, where was ojukwu, the king of africa's bloodiest war, when ubah and ngige were trampling upon iboland?

be real, man, be real!

The last time I too checked, a press release by Ikemba caused your godfather aremu to twitch for sometimes. See how DUMB and slow you are, idiot? Is Ikemba in control of the security apparatus (SSS, Police, Army etc?) Now get back on your medication before you inflict more harm to yourself, boy!

Conundrum:

Humans beings will always act like humans. There are good Igbos and bad Igbos. There are bad Yorubas and good yorubas. There are bad Americans and good Americans. Yes you are right Igbos slaughtering Igbos is no news just like Yorubas, Hausas, Americans,Muslims, Xtians etc etc. Slaughtering of their own is no news.

For all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. So long as man has this human flesh, evil will always manifest. Man's inhumanity to man is also no news.

That is why, we all need JESUS to give us a new lease to life and change us so that we can continously seek to be like Him.

of what use is this old dog then to the actualization movements in nigeria? do we really need someone who is paralized during times of real trouble to be a leader of ANYBODY at all? you want to tell me the people in srilanka, india, thailand, indonesia and elsewhere want to have a powerless leader-fugure to be their icon of bravery and competence NOW IN THE FACE OF REAL TROUBLE?

if the old dog cannot exercise influence when two animals (ngigu and ubah) are busy with power-struggles, then that old nama should vacate ALL his positions and offices and allow those whose pricks are still rising to be the leaders and decision-makers of the actualization movements.
