Mazi you're a man of boundless energy, an organized trailblazer!
Your instincts on where the battlefronts lie remain razor sharp!
I will soon visit to review it so I can understand for myself why Benny Hinn a supposed man of God has sunken low enough to condone injustice, to join the throng of those who bow in sycophantic worship before idol worshippers, all in the avaricious pursuit of mammon, and in callous obliviousness to and active cover-up of the cries of the down-trodden.
I will tread lightly nontheless. This is a new dimension to me.

The later days prophets now seek political convinience unlike our Lord Jesus Christ who spoke out against ALL evil doers and corrupt rulers. I went to one of Reinhard Bohnke`s crusades in Onitsha about two years ago.The man seemed like a true man of God.As for Benny Hinn,i believe he is out to make money for now.I fervently hope to be proven wrong.African evangelisation is being capitalised upon by some phony evangelists to extort money from good Christians living in America and elsewhere.
I have no qualms if they go and pray for Obasanjo`s deliverance from the forces of darkness that has held him refuge. The only worrisome dimension of this political convinience tactics is that since Obasanjo pretends to be Christian, and christian evangelists now come from abroad to sing praises to his murderous and corrupt regime. The wrong message that Christianity condones corruption and immorality would become another potent weapon against the Nigerian christians soon.My hope about these evangelists is to do no further harm to us if they are unable to do any good.
Your concerns are understandable in light of the relationship that mordern day christianity is forging with political power. Obasanjo is merely following the cotails of his mentor George Bush in using the Evangelicals as a cover.

Ehindero takes over
LAGOS—THE Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Tafa Balogun, has given notice of his retirement with effect from March 6, 2005. The IGP will, however, start his retirement leave with effect from today. President Olusegun Obasanjo in accepting his notice of retirement expressed appreciation on behalf of the nation for his past service and wished him a happy retirement. The president has also approved the appointment of Mr. Sunday Ehindero as acting IGP with effect from today.
MORE LIKE: BALOGUN FA-FA-FAA FAYYYYAAAD!
He was fired by Obasanjo for commiserating too much with Ogbeh in some of the comments Ogbeh attributed to the unnamed Police exec who was directed to question him on some of his comments in the letter to Obasanjo by Ogbeh.
Another casualty of “soft landing” as the cover-up continues.

Please add this among the reason he was "FA-FA-FAA FAYYYYAAAD!"
quote:THISDAY gathered that Balogun was yesterday summoned to Aso Rock at about 7p.m after Obasanjo got a report from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that a huge sum of money believed to be over one billion naira lodged in the Fountain Trust Bank in Lagos has been traced to the IGP. – Thisday
People, as you read this, don't loose sight of the history of "oduduwa" as revealed by the bini Oba. Just to refresh your memories, it was a run away convicted criminal from bini who founded the area this thief came from just like the other thieves ala oil bunkering/stealing Olu Agunloye. Hmmm, a snake they say will always give birth to what looks like a snake. Just look around and all one could see is bunch of shameless thieves from the same neck of the wood.

Here's the highlighted portion again, this time on its own below:
quote:Ogbeh added that shortly after writing the letter on Anambra crisis, a senior security chief visited him at his Abuja residence. The security chief, he said, told him that the content of the letter concided with intelligence reports on Anambra crisis. The security chief, he said, had added that the crisis and the PDP were the biggest security threat to Nigeria "which is taking all the energy and funds of the country." The PDP chairman said he reported the meeting with the security chief to Obasanjo "at least to confirm that I was not writing in vain."
Having read it, I wondered who the “Senior security chief” could be, and why it was important for Ogbeh not to mention his name to the press. I also wondered how it could be that Ogbeh would report the nature of that conversation to Obasanjo as Ogbeh claimed without knowing he would be putting the man in trouble. Based on this, (and I know I could be wrong), I felt safe to conclude the so-called chief delegated to interrogate Ogbeh not only had to be high enough to interrogate Ogbeh, but high enough to have Obasanjos complete trust. The only characters that kept coming to mind was either IG Tafa “de tiff” Balogun, or SSS Reichskommandant Kayode Areh.
When Tafa got busted, my thought went straight to vendetta!!!, something not beneath Obasanjo who very much knows that Tafa is a criminal and knows that every criminal working for him is sworn to loyalty by virtue of third world style blackmail which he wields over them, and now chose to excersise over Tafa the rogue. We're watching PR saavy Ehindero the rogue, to see how his own lies would be crafted.
HOW TO BUST KNOWN CRIMINALS AHEAD OF TIME: ANYONE INTERESTED?
If “Nigeria” were truly working, the first thing the “Senate” would be taxed to do would be to make sure that they dont swear in criminals beholden to the president by way of blackmail, and that those sworn in would stay subject to having their accounts audited quarterly during their terms in office for sudden bursts of untraceable wealth coming from such “abracadabra” sources as “farming” among others which are equally capable of being exposed in "abracadabra" fashion by Obasanjos hatchet men when they stray out of line in any form or fashion.
This way, some one who was hailed as a man of integrity when they booted out Gemade, or transitioned out Musiliu Smith, wont all of a sudden be summoned up by Tony Anenih, and Ojo Maduekwe in the dead of night, and presented with an “offer he cant refuse”. Yet one is forced to ask the questions:
Which “Senate”?, which “House”? Which “Judiciary”? which "police force"? which "Independent Corruption panel"? which PDP "Independent panel"? which "Independent elections tribunal"? which....., ?
The ones who themselves were rigged into position?
The same ones who have shady backgrounds of which Obasanjo is fully appraised?
The same ones who have the “sword of Damocles” hanging over their heads by way of a pre-signed resignation letters, while before him/her is arrayed all the wealth, power, influence, and opulence of Abuja lootsharing and beyond?
HEADS IN THE SAND, BUTTS IN THE AIR: WHY “ONE NIGERIA” WILL REMAIN DEAD ON ARRIVAL
Why “One Nigeria” is not viable, is that any attempt to exume these dirty deeds simply will pit the activist, not only against raw state power wielded by the incumbents who have successfully cowed the populace, and decieved the rest of the world, It will pit the activist against the ethnic group from which the incumbent hails, given that to each group, a sense of their ethnic pride albeit on paper is reflected by their townsmans name, the attempt of whose exposure and humiliation as a charlattan usually leaves their ethnic grouping calling for the blood of the activist.
“One Nigerianas” should already know this by now, yet they continue to bury their heads in the sand while attempting to play “good boy” at the expense of those who are calling for a revisit to the drawing board with all options on the table including Federal arrangement; characterized by: Regional Autonomy, Ethnic Autonomy, “True Federalism”, “Resource Control”, or a Confederal arrangement; characterized by : Commonwealth of states, regions provinces, or ethnic groupings on the basis of mutual arrangement under a regulating structure administered by a weak center/board to which each component group would share equal board participation and access in chairing.
“One Nigerianas” prefer to bring up the scepter of civil war, as if the mere mention of a different structure amounts to a declaration of war, and as if activism against a failed system amounts to a clamor for violence and an act of treason and “unpatriotism”. Some have decided to believe that a lone individual such as Gani Fawehinmi would all of a sudden rouse up passions in the populace, sufficient to disabuse them of their habits, infuse into them, the motivation to topple the structure-that-be (serving the powers-that-be) guide them straight into Utopic Nirvana where the structure would have changed itself with the willing cooperation of all, and the admiring silence of the powers-that-be. I submit that even Gani when imbued with such absolute expectations which if transformed to real and actual power would himself see fit of necessity to start acting like an absolutist totalitarian. Its called the “Messianic complex”. Wole Soyinka who once expressed that African style democracies should be headed by a “Benevolent Dictator”, seemed to have had Olusegun Obasanjo in mind when he was speaking (probably because at the time Obasanjo was in jail and looked marketable) forgetting that a dictator by any other name is still a dictator. I hazard to guess his views have now changed, yet why in this day and age do Africans still talk about individuals? Instead of impersonal institutions and structure? Why?
AFRICAS CHALLENGE: ACCOMODATION OF AN OCCASSIONAL BUNGLING MONKEY, VERSUS THE IMPOSITION OF A SERIES OF DESPOTIC BABOONS
I submit that African democracies more than any other needs a structure with in-built checks and balances which exploits the opportunity of our diversity as a strength making up those checks and balances using the benefits of mutual voluntary participation as an incentive rather than the benevolence of a dictator in a forced arrangement as our only option.
In any civilized society, when an impervious and intricately woven but transparent structure is in place, even a monkey can be installed, and would make a good president. Africans in our neck of the woods are just as any other nation due the benefits of a workable structure where a monkey can be accomodated every now and then, than the third world style crude pretendemocracy where rabid (foaming at the mouth) gorillas and babboons in their turn are repeatedly imposed upon the boiling cauldron the world chooses to believe is an “African nation” christened “Nigeria”, Feted by world leaders.

Kajethan,
Maaaan I laughed to my hearts content when I read the above. Gives new meaning to the phrases:
He was caught with his pants down!
He was caught red handed!
He was caught with his hands in the cookie jar!
He was caught with his hands in the till!(literally in this case)
In all, having read your comment, I imagined a cartoon image of Tafa Balogun the thieving thug in light of each of these four phrases, and I got a good laugh.

I had also been pondering Obasanjo`s sudden piety.Instances abound where public officials openly made their corrupt practices known and still lost no sleep worrying about EFCC witch hunt as long as they could prove their absolute loyalty to Aremu. No reasonable person still harbours the slightest shred of doubt about Aremu`s crass contempt for the constitution or whatever the law says.
The sudden discovery, freezing and clamp down on Tafa`s loot, the almost instantaneous annoucement of his resignation, seizure of his Nigerian passport and house arrest was truely nothing like Obj.Except, when your Aso Rock re-classification depreciates your percieved loyalty to belong to the class of the Iboris,Ngiges,Dariyes and now the Ogbehs.Tafa could be under some unfounded investigation for coup plotting or is it now called "security breach".Only time would reveal his true crime.

Njiko,
My brother you still capture the essence of it all. Yes, this thread is still on crime and cover-up. This Administration has perfected a third world crude style of theirs and "Nigerians" are on a jolly ride doing "ringa ringa roses" with each intrigue the Obasanjo cabal hatches.
We are supposed to relaaaaax and build this "Nigeria" together? But why this one? why stop at the current borders of "Nigeria" why not create a system the world can finally envy? one, of which neighboring countries would desire to join, if not emulate? one from which the returns from foreign investors investments would continue to be stable, consistent, successful, and dependable. One in which the component unitss are more manageable and better managed, one in which the citizens are willing aspirants, participants, and beneficiaries, contributing their creativity with voluntary zeal and eagerness?. One in which basic security to life and limb is not paid mere lip service in order to deflect world attention from wanton depravity (read Chris Ubahsanjo and the burning of Anambra state) but in which basic security to life and limb is a part of a citizens empowerment, responsibility and expectation.
Why not yearn for that type of country?
How long must human beings be smashed over the head with empty condescending sermons about "Patriotism", from an ever widening gathering of wicked, murderous cut-throat thieves who would'nt know what "Patriotism" was if it hit them on the head?
How long?
These are the questions which these intrigues continue to beg. No "One Nigerian" has come forth to explain or defend them, other than to concurr with us that:
"Those people must be caught and made to pay!!!"
