BNW has done it again! Infopop Corporation, now called Groupee, the manufacturer of BNW's forum software has named BNW the Site of the Week for the week starting Sunday June 19 2005.
In a letter congratulating BNW for winning the award, Infopop's co-founder, Rosemary O'Neill stated that BNW was carefully selected to be the UBBCentral Site of the Week for next week after a review by the selection committee.
An excerpt from the statement awarding the prize to BNW reads:

To say I'm proud of BNW and its handlers is to minimize it. For me, it's an obsession especially after many years of searching for an authentic Igbo forum where genuine concerns about our people are expressed with a no hold barred attitude. BTW: What does Ms. O'Neil mean by the site of the week? Does the word YEAR still mean a thing, in the dictionary still? Anyway half a loaf always better than none, I guess. Bravo to BNW!!

Now that we in this magnificent BNW Forum have won this prestigious award, I propose that we do what Philip Emeagwali did and declare that the award is the Nobel Prize in Internet Computing, and start calling ourselves the Fathers of the Internet.

To all you BNW groupee you all have done it again. I wasn't surprise about this award, for some of us who live here this a proud day for all of us. To think that people like Rudolf Okonkwo said this site will not last two week. Now I say ntoooooooooooo gi, is been almost five years and BNW is still kicking ass.

Today, more people visit the BNW Message Board than any other African discussion forum. The Nigerian forums that purport to compete with BNW don't even come close. I have visited the Nigerian sites, bar none, and they lag far behind in traffic as well as quality of original content.
All that Infopop did was confirm what many of us here have always known. For that, we thank Infopop/Groupee.

As an active member of BNW Message Board, you have access to the answer to your own question. Once you visit and compare the most popular Nigerian sites and their forums, the data clearly shows that more people visit and participate in BNW Forums and Message Board than visit each of the entire websites of the so-called Nigerian competition to BNW, bar none. That data is updated every minute. Additionally, those who view the stats frequently know that the data shows that on the average, there is someone on this forum every minute of every day.
Now, let us see what you and your fellow Nigerians have. Don't tell me it is classified!

This prestigious award that we "BNW" received today, has said it louder/clearer that the whole world is watch.

Reading the excerpt of the mail to the administrator, I just felt that anyone who has problem with their (Infopop/Groupee) judgement, has problem with truth. Such a person should be ignored!
As always, I commend the brains behind BNW and congratulate the truth-seekng and open-minded contributors to its messageboard.

Thanks for that link. After I read your post, I visited egbeomooduduwa.com forum since it is considered to be the biggest competition to this great forum of ours. Lo and behold, the traffic on egbeomoodudduwa.com is about 1/100th or less of the traffic on the BNW board. It would be a waste of time to even report what I saw at baby egbeomooduduwa, the one that Yoruba Philip Kunle set up to undermine Chuck Odili.
How do we explain this? Why is it that a site named Biafra Nigeria World has more traffic than any other African website?
