quote:You sold your birthright for 3rd term • North tells South-South By JAMES OJO, Abuja, BASHIR UMAR, Abuja Friday, May 26, 2006
Northern leaders, under the aegis of Northern Union say that South-South geopolitical zone sold its right to occupy the presidency in 2007 by supporting the failed plot to extend President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure.
They insisted that power must shift to the North for the peace and unity of the country.
Rising from a meeting on Thursday in Abuja, the group declared: “It must be cleared to the generality of Nigerians that the sole aim of Northern Union is that power must shift to the North, it is very simple, it should not lead to any form of controversy.”
Briefing the press midway into the meeting, a leader of the group, Dr. Olusola Saraki, said that for the South-South leaders to campaign vigorously for the elongation of President Obasanjo’s tenure, after the expiration of his two terms in office, the zone had sold its rights to the presidency.
The union hinged its insistence on power shift to the North on an understanding reached with the leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that power would return to the North after two terms in the South, which they said informed the massive opposition launched against tenure elongation. “Now, our stand is that power must shift to the North. We are not giving up, so that peace will reign in the country and there would be unity. This informed this meeting. We are only strategizing to let power shift to the North,” Dr. Saraki said.
According to him, the North was ready to deploy every weapon at its disposal to achieve this, adding that this was why the North did not support the third term agenda as it would have negated the decision taken in 1995 during the reign of the late Abacha that power must go to the South and return to the North after two terms of four years.
“We thank God that third term is dead. With the death of third term, we have raised the hope that we shall defeat our enemies. The North would use every opportunity given us by God to ensure that power returns to the North, so that tomorrow when we are no more, those who are coming behind would know that we mastered our own moment,” he said.
Elaborating on the position of the union, Professor Ango Abdullahi told other zones that might be eying the presidency, after President Obasanjo, that power must return to the North next year. “It must be cleared to the generality that this is the aim of this union. It is our aims and objectives that we must kill third term. Thank God, we have succeeded in doing this at the National Assembly.
Now, it is the unity of the North and we have done well also. The remaining part is equity and fairness that we agreed upon in 1998/1999, in 2002/2003 where it was clearly stated using the platform of the PDP as a party that power will reside in the South for the first and second term, after which it will shift to the North. This is all and it is very simple, I can’t see why it led to controversy,” the former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria declared.
Those who attended the meeting include Comrade Pascal Bafyau; former governor of old Borno State, Mohammed Goni; Tanko Yakassai, Dr. Ibrahim Lami, fomer Inspector General of Police, Gambo Jimeta; Senator Wash Pam; Patrick Adaba, one time deputy governor of Kogi State, Idris Koko, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and Aishat Mohammed.
In a related development, South-South senators have castigated Niger State governor, Engr. Abdulladir Kure for saying that the zone is incapable of producing the president. Addressing newsmen at the National Assembly, the South- South senators, led by the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, said: “He (Kure) said among other things that the South- South is always “under” and not to be “seen.” He also went on to say that for the PDP to choose a candidate from the South South will be to destroy the PDP, as the only candidate with national appeal are from the North. In fact, he went on to say that if we insist on the right person leading the country always, then all the presidents of Nigeria will come from the North.
“When we first saw the publication, we assumed that such an irresponsible statement could not have been by a person of the status of Alhaji Abdulkadir Kure. We were therefore, expecting to see a denial in today’s newspapers (Thursday). We are disappointed that no such denial has been made. We therefore feel entitled to assume that he stands by those statements and find it necessary to respond”. Describing the statements as provocative and disturbing, the senators said: “Over the years, the South- South has complained of the great injustice where we produce a good percentage of the wealth of this country, as well as some of the best material in this country in all walks of life, but have been consistently denied the opportunity to produce the president, and to add insult to injury, we are now told that this great injustice is because we are not good enough.”
They noted that even in the National Assembly they have some of the brightest legislators in Nigeria as well as governors, while their region had produced captains of industry, retired generals and top civil servants “and yet somebody insults us that we are not good enough. This nonsense must stop!”. The senators declared that the South- South deserved to occupy the presidency in 2007, adding, “we shall prove to such persons as Alhaji Kure that we are not the underdogs of Nigerian politics”.
When reminded about the Niger State governor’s denial, where he said “nobody in his right senses will say there is no qualified person for the office of the president of Nigeria from the South-South,” the senators queried why Kure made the statement in one paper and denied it in another They rejected his clarification that he was referring to an individual, saying that Governor Odili, being one of their leaders, must not be undermined by Kure, who they said, was no match to Odili.

This is news to me, the refusal to join a useless idiot in the person of orji the lying thief kamalu to deceive Ndiigbo now means support for obasanjo whom kamalu and nwa aro/markus licked the ground he stepped on? I have the sense that this little exposed liar, markus must have been one of the escapees from the dreaded Bakkassi boys’ sword during their cleaning exercise. It must have been at this time with the little money he stole, he made his way to Germany since he could not have gone there for furtherance of his education like most of us did when we set sail to God’s own, USA. How does alerting the world on the Igbere born crook’s pillaging fingers translate to what this bloody pick-pocket scrawled? That obasanjo humiliated nwagbara and adihije by dangling N50 million bribe is no news. That orji the idiot kamalu would have been singing a different tune had obasanjo your father not shoved him off the gravy train is no news. What is news is that just men refuse to buy into the counterfeit you’re hustling to mislead as you wont. The full credit for the death of your third term wishes must go to the one and only, HONORABLE KENECHUKWU NNAMANI yet this German based little crook somehow finds a way to squeeze in men whose characters are no less than ordinary Asa road motor park pickpockets. What were these loafers’ kamalu orji, adolphus nwagbara, chris adihije relationship with your father obasanjo before 2003? If no answer as always is coming then kiss off liar. Third term Credit?
there are three categories of people throughout the whole third therm War -1- those are in support ( both bribed and unbribed, spin doctors, clowns, money miss roads, anarchist) eg Ali, mantu, Odili, udenwa, Nzeribe, Ararume, Mebobasnjo, xxblood etc... etc
-2- Those who are neither against nor in support, they are just neutral, they are not against third term and also not in support of it eg. Senator Nnamani
-3- Those -yes the Courageous and the fearles .who risked all incuding their Lives and comfort to comfront the Monster beast head-Long.they dare the dreaded Monster and engage it in a fierece do or die Battle.God gave them victory and they defeated the Beast and their Creators. eg, Gov Orji Uzor Kalu.. yes i place him as number one cause 3 years ago he was the first to alert nigerian and the world community about the evil agenda and he vowed to fight it to death.some myopics called him alarmist..alarmist.. show us evidence.. show us evidence - the rest is history,. He criss-crosed the globe, including western Capitals mobilising and raising armies against the Monster.even b4 Artikur or IBB could muster the gut or effrontry to come out open against the evil agenda, Orji kalu was already in the battle field exchanging fire, blows and missiles with the third termist dark-Army led by Mathew Obasnjo...of course with casualities-it is war! ... gov Tinubu of Lagos, Boni Haruna (adamawa), the great indefatigable- chukwumerije (Abia), the courageous Dr Chris Ngige,Markus Weber (Germany) ofcourse the Nigerian Press and the nigerian masses, etc.
..............................................
So mr MEOBASNJO, pls try - i know of cause that you are very Sick, but please manage to say something on this: if all credit should be giving to neutrals who did not contribute any fathen to the War, nor come out in the battle field to fight, then what then should be giving to those who sacrifice their lives and limbs to fought the monster to surrender??
Switzerland the Heros of second world war??!!
so based on that we could then say that all credit in defeating and stoping the muderous Hitler led Nazi-Regime of Germany during the second world war, were over 50 million souls perished should be giving to the switzerland- the only nation that chooses to be neutral despite pressure from both side, throughout the whole blood flooding?!and no longer the USA, the red armies of russia and the allied forces that repel the Nazis and force Hitler to surrender, suffering millions of man and material casualities???!! .. ha!...Ha...ha!...Meobasnjo self.. any way thanks for giving me a cause to laugh!..ha!..Ha! who said that Mad Men Are not usefull?-..ha!..ha! ha!!.. atleast they can make us Laugh sometimes.. ah!

Nigeria: 3rd Term: Heroes And Villains
This Day (Lagos)
ANALYSIS May 18, 2006 Posted to the web May 19, 2006
Lagos
The dust generated by the elimination of third term at the Senate on Tuesday, is yet to settle. Philip Ogunmade lists the heroes and villains of the entire struggle and what makes them so.
The knell that summoned the third term agenda of President Olusegun Obasanjo to death on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday, has opened yet another remarkable chapter in the history of Nigeria's existence as well as the democratic practice. Like the mindless annulment of June 12, 1993 presidential election, won by the late publisher of the defunct Concord Newspapers, Chief Moshood Abiola, the intrusion of third term agenda into Nigerian democracy, has entered into the catalogue of controversial issues in the history of Nigerian state. Thus, the agenda has either made heroes or villains out of the vain pursuit. Below are both the heroes and the villains of the failed agenda.
Heroes
Wole Soyinka
The voice of the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka rose higher and higher just as the intensity of the third term pursuit increased. Soyinka, a social critic and respected voice all the time, became more and more exasperated about the agenda . According to Soyinka, it was highly provocative that advocates of the agenda continued to hammer on the indispensability of Obasanjo . The depth of his anger against the agenda became known when at an interactive session with senior journalists recently, Soyinka, an acclaimed atheist, absent mindedly shouted Jesus Christ, in expression of his anger over comments that besides Obasanjo, none else was fit to rule Nigeria. That showed the level of his pains about the agenda. But today, the world acclaimed playwright looks vindicated as the battle against which he canvassed civil disobedience has been lost and won.
Abubakar Atiku
The struggle against the third term agenda cannot be meaingfully relayed without a proper mention of the Vice President, Abubakar Atiku, whose roles in the whole pursuit , introduced twists and turns into the whole scenario. First, the public was never aware of any frosty relationship between Atiku and his boss, until he granted an interview to THISDAY in September last year, where he said that third term was outrightly impossible.
It was the anger of President Olusegun Obasanjo concerning this interview that led to the President's open allegation that the Vice President was a disloyal officer. Since then, there was no love lost between the two leading Nigerian citizens .
Atiku's heroic role against the agenda, surfaced again on April 2nd, when he took the bull by the horn to openly challenge his boss, insising that the third term agenda was indeed the brain child of the President and that the President was committed to the pursuit . Since then, his mobilization and criticism against the agenda has been vocal . At different fora, Atiku called on Nigeria to wholly resist what he called the President's live Presidency bid. He was viewed as the sponsor of the anti-third term senators as he, at different times, hosted them and encouraged them to keep up the struggle.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Lagos State governor, Tinubu was another defiant and courageous anti-third term fighter. His popularity suddenly soared as a result of his frequent condemnation of the agenda. Tinubu, despite several attempts to secure his support for the agenda, stood his ground, analyzing from forum to forum, the degree of immorality embedded in the bid. When Southern governors, under the guise of retaining the Presidency in the South, converged at the Micheal Opara Square in Enugu on December 19, last year, Tinubu turned down the invitation, apparently guessing that the planned meeting was not borne out of sincerity, but rather as a foundation of support for the President's inordinate ambition
Tinubu, was however, justified , when at the close of the meeting, despite calls from Chief Olu Falae to condemn the third term agenda, the question of third term was evaded in the communique. Tinubu's hard position against the agenda became more and complex by the day, turning him into a radical governor. Again, when the Joint Committee on the Review of the Constitution (JCRC) held its public hearing across the country, Lagos State, governed by Tinubu was the only South-west state at the Osogbo public hearing which opposed the third term agenda. His radical posture in the struggle, singled him out as a man who would not bend even in the face of cohesion or intimidation. Thus these roles made a hero out of him as far as the third term pursuit was concerned.
Orji Uzor Kalu
Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, defied his party's cult to pursue the third term agenda to the grave. He did not mince words to condemn the agenda and watered down the pride of the proponents. To register his unalloyed commitment and dismay for third term, Kalu shunned the PDP panel, which summoned him to appear before it a few weeks ago. Kalu, the governor of Abia State, was also one of the two governors who opposed the third term at the public hearing held in Abakaliki, when other state governors of the East, except the ousted Anambra governor, Chris Ngige declared support for third term. He stands tall today, as a principled man who would take his position without fear or favour.
Boni Haruna
Haruna, Adamawa State governor, stood by his boss, Atiku and resisted third term with all his strength. Like Kalu, he also shunned PDP panel to try him for perceived disobedience to party rules. He said his major commitment was to see to the death of third term. True to that declaration, that mission has been accomplished.
Uche Chukwumerije
When Comrade Uche Chukwumerije's election into the Senate was announced in April 2003, anger and irritation were the by-products from the people. This is no thanks to the perceived ignoble roles that the senator played after the annulment of June 12, 1993 presidential election when he served as the secretary for information in Gen. Ibrahim Babangida's military administration. The comments of the people about Chukwumerije after election was, "can anything good come out of Nazareth?" However, today, Senator Chukwumerije has proved the pessimists wrong that indeed, many good things can proceed honourably out of Nazareth.
Chukwumerije became one of the most resolute, resilient and daring senators who fought the third term agenda to its utter end. Through his initiative, the 2007 Movement, which vehemently opposed the agenda emerged . The movement became a formidable force, whose invincibility at the National Assembly could not be broken . The group, led by Chukwumerije himself, sponsored lots of advertisements against the agenda and mobilized both the people and the media against it. Through Chukwumerije's heroic roles, the wrong impression in the minds of many against him, has been assuaged and his image has been redeemed from the June 12 saga. Many now believe that Chukwumerije can be trusted with issues of national importance.
Chris Ngige
Before he was disqualified as Anambra State governor on March 15, Ngige had vehemently rejected the third term aspiration, describing it as unlawful. It was only him and Kalu, among the South-east governors who opposed the entrenchment of the agenda into the constitution at the public hearing. He described it as unwarranted and uncalled for and hence, a distate to the people. Ngige had said that anything that could not be achieved within eight years could not be achieved even in 12 years.
Wunmi Bewaji
The name Bewaji can also not be excluded from the list of third term heroes. The fiery leader of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), in the House of Representatives, was not overshadowed by any feelings of inferiority complex resulting from the minority group into which his party falls into at the National Assembly. Bewaji, a member of the JCRC, was the first to move a motion to throw out the third term agenda among the proposed amendments to the constitution. He was also reported as rejecting a huge sum of money amounting to $1 million with other fringe benefits, like an oil block to support the bid. His name will go down in memory lane as one of the few Nigerians who can stand their ground amid huge temptations.
Villains
Ahmadu Alli
The chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Alli is a gallant loser in the struggle . Alli commenced his third term campaign early in January this year, when he said in an interview he granted THISDAY, that a garment (Obasanjo) shouldn't be changed for change sake. He added that there was no need changing any garment when it was still fashionable, apparently saying that there was no need changing the President when he was still very active and relevant. Alli at different times, met with PDP legislators, warning them to support the agenda or risk sanction.
When some members of the Senate, moved to impeach the Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, Alli was swift to say that PDP would not allow the plan to sail through, mainly because Mantu was the custodian of third term at the National Assembly. He went as far as describing elongation opponents as the enemies of democracy, a situation many described as mere antithesis. Today, Ali is a major villain, not because third term failed, but because his integrity has also been smeared by his singular act of playing only an individual's interest above the wishes of the entire citizens of Nigeria, because of what he stood to benefit from the move.
Bode George
Like his boss, the Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Olabode George forgot every sense of morality, when he moved from place to place, canvassing support for third term agenda. Many however, attributted George's commitment to the pursuit as an escape route from the allegations of fraud made against him when he served as the chairman of the board of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA). To underscore the level of his commitment to the infamous bid, he went to the National Assembly to monitor the debate, but was forced to quit, when senators indirectly hit him squarely.
George's relentless effort to get elongation for Obasanjo has eventually turned a wide goose chase. He remains an unceremonious loser and a notable figure in anti-people's projects.

Ibrahim Mantu
The greatest loser in the entire pursuit is Mantu. He religiously pursued the agenda, without turning right or left . His dream was to achieve the third term for Obasanjo and register his name as one of the few Nigerians who could push their ideas through , no matter the height of hostility. He would have again bagged the name, Mr. Fix it, if the agenda had sailed through. Despite rising criticism, Mantu had his way, including the third term in the list of proposed amendment to the constitution. And in spite of the adoption of the motion to throw out the agenda from the proposed amendment list, Mantu still had his way.
During the public hearing, Mantu endeavoured to visit every centre to see how the agenda was fairing. And eventually, while the public kept agitating for non-inclusion of the agenda as a recommendation for consideration by the National Assembly, Mantu's again saw that the agenda eventually got to the National Assembly. He defied court order (before it was denied), turning against the bailiff , who was allegedly beaten for insisting to serve Mantu's committee. By and large, Mantu can no doubt be free from the credibility crisis that this controversial agenda has brought to his image. For instance, he reportedly left his state, Plateau at the weekend, to escape being lynched for his perceived diservice to the people. He is still facing trial at the Senate today, for allegedly misappropriating fund meant for the hearing. Now, he has no place to turn to for refuge, either at Aso Rock, having failed to deliver or his own home state where his constituents had moved to recall him.
quote: LET me state here that the persons involved are only secondary to the issues they represent. In other words, the issues come first. It is the issues a political figure represents at any time that qualify that person as a fighter for the good of the country or its ill. Take the case of Comrade Uche Chukwumerije. In 1993, he, like General Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Arthur Nzeribe, Chief Shonekan and many northern leaders (both the military and civil classes) worked to deny Chief Moshood Abiola his right to serve Nigeria as her president after winning the presidential election. Chukwumerije’s propaganda package for the Babangida and Shonekan regimes did more to destabilise Nigeria than help her to recover from the shock of the June 12 general poll annulment. We wrote to condemn the saboteurs of that smooth transition to civil rule of which Chukwumerije and others were part players. – Vanguard: Ochereome Nnanna
To show that even today’s good men are not always what it seems, Uche Chukwumereiji in the past played the devil’s advocate which never benefited him. I wonder how our in-house yamhead weber would spin this. So Mazi Chukwumereiji has not always been an Angel, huh? The Okigwe born being touted as Angel had a hand in scuttling the democratic outcome of a free and fair election then? Could his new attitude then be a result of learning the hard lesson when after his role in pushing Abiola to the side, no dividends were earned?
About orji kamalu's legacy, it is not hard to find. A visit to Aba is all it takes to see what a lying crook he is. Guys, the 2007 presidential train is off in high gears with no mention of this chap anywhere it matters anymore. The noise about the superlative orji is dwindling faster than an electric train.

nwa aro/markus weber different names but same criminal identity.
Did you fellas see how this criminal mind attempted to rope Ikemba with what Mazi Chukwumereije did at the time? Sorry, have to skip several lines of your off the wall raging. Your animal holler was not making enough sense to me, had to pick and choose what lines I read to save my brains from distortion. The more you, nwa aro writes, the clearer it is for people to conclude that you are definitely a mad man! Me jealous of you or your criminal partner orji kamalu? Only a demented buffoon would ever ascribe jealousy to a person that holds more education than the entire kamalu and nwa aro’s family combined. Maybe someone ought to inform you that stealing is not a family value decent people look up to, but well rounded education? You tell me. Right from gowon the war criminal’s era, thieves have come and gone while non of them have met the educational challenges of many a decent men, decent men with great education have been making money from the beginning of time. Can you get my gig, I mean, whereas anyone can make billions by any flawed means, non can dare jump into a facility for higher learning and become say, engineer or physicists overnight. Little one, that’s the difference so next time the temptation to use words you’re not averse with, remember my free lecture. Yesterday, I read about how one of your kinds was busted in Toronto, Canada on car snatching charges and I wondered how long before the long arms of the law catches up with your debauchery in Germany. You better mark this, it’s only a matter of time before you too are busted for stealing and shipping peoples’ rides back to your orji for a quick buy.
Just in case you forgot, we’re still waiting for you to rattle away how Ojukwu’s mother became a northern lady, monkey. Also, what happened to orji kamalu the lying idiot’s presidential noise? Isn’t it ironic that at the time his name should be all over the place as the only ‘U.S. backed candidate’ (remember liar?), little or nothing is heard yet the paid German based crook weber thinks people are not paying attention? Anyone interested in knowing about this wasted liar, weber should visit a very interesting thread that gave those of us insight to his criminal mind. Topic: The tragedy of the character called Nwa Aro. Out of humiliation, the lizard switched names due partly to his inability to account for the monies he collected from Biafra sympathizers in Germany but never remitted back for the cause for which it was collected. With this knowledge, I with the Honorable one that accidentally share a common heritage with this crook took to our heels to avoid being painted with the same ignominious brush. An act that has caused this boy more pain than anything he's seen before, our refusal to be identified with a common criminal.

Didn’t weber the lying German based discarded bottle picker tell us how his state is the only state in the entire universe that never engages in show of support for their god obasanjo and all that rubbish? How about this:
quote:But leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Abia State have dismissed the purported crisis in the party as a ruse, insisting that the party was not threatened by the Lar faction.
Speaking during the party's Abia North senatorial district rally held at Isuikwuato Local Government Area, near Okigwe in Imo State, the stakeholders that includes, Hon. Mao Ohuabunwa representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Surveyro Ike Orika, the zonal Chairman, Senator Onyeka Okoroafor and Chief Tony Ukasanya, noted that the party would even emerge stronger after the 2007 polls.
They maintained that the continued existence of the PDP would automatically result in the continued existence of the country, and therefore described the Lar group as job seekers. "It's high time people began to know that if PDP fails, Nigeria will also fail" they said adding that contrary to insinuations that the PDP was heading towards a total collapse, "the number of people coming into are much more than the number exiting from it".
"But leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Abia State have dismissed the purported crisis in the party as a ruse, insisting that the party was not threatened by the Lar faction."
Guys, remember that the Lar faction being hyped is anti obasanjo group and this, weber's brothers found offensive. They couldn't understand why everyone is not singing aremu will rule them forever.

Resign now – Rimi tells Obasanjo By FEMI BABAFEMI Monday, October 16, 2006
Former Kano State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, has raised an alarm over a looming danger in the country, with a warning that Nigerians should rise up and resist the destructive tendencies of the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration before everyone becomes a victim.
under a living OBJ:-nigeria future uncertain!
Rimi, who was also a former Communications Minister, liken President Obasanjo to a bull in a Chinese shop and expressed the fear that the future of the country is no longer certain as long as the president is allowed to continue to destroy the constitutional framework of the nation.
Speaking against the backdrop of the gale of impeachment plots against governors across the country, Rimi said this induced by the Economic and Financial Crime commission (EFCC), signified a bad omen for the nation’s democracy, stressing that the whole process was a design for the self-perpetuation agenda of President Obasanjo.
His words: “It is unconstitutional. Everybody knows that. The media are culpable in this case because they helped in taking this bull into a china shop and now, he is doing the destruction, destroying everything in sight. “It is obvious that the future is no longer certain. If a president is violating constitution and everybody is watching, then there is no hope for Nigeria,” Rimi said. The former governor, who was one of the founding leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but defected to the new Action Congress (AC) recently, described President Obasanjo’s anti-graft war as hypocritical.
“How can they be fighting corruption when we know that the presidency is the most corrupt institution in Nigeria today? Ribadu and EFCC take away their face from there, by getting too busy destroying lesser evils when the big evil is looming big,” he stated.
The Kano-based politician said that danger looms over the country because of the several surreptitious plots of President Obasanjo to stay in office beyond constitutional provisions.
“He (Obasanjo) is not ready to go. He tried to stay longer through a 40-man constitutional conference which failed him. He turned around to organise third term in a fraudulent manner to get the constitution to allow him to continue in office. That also failed.
“Now, in the name of fighting corruption, he is intimidating governors and other elected representatives so that they will be scared of impeaching him. The tragedy of his action or his so-called anti-corruption crusade is that he is using corruption to fight corruption.” Rimi stressed.
While warning that the president should forget any ambition to stay a day longer than May 29, 2007, the former governor said that Obasanjo has in several ways, exposed his hidden ambition to perpetuate himself in office.
“We can see all the tactics. Now, he is delaying the release of census results to the last minute. He is holding the local government elections to the last moment so as to create chaos. When confusion is created and intense, there will not be election, and that is why they have flown the ING kite ahead of time,” he alleged. For him, the only way out of the looming crisis in the country is for President Obasanjo to vacate the presidential villa immediately.
Not a day longer!
“He should resign and leave now, because he is doing a lot of damage to our psyche and constitution. This is the best way to stop his brazen rape of democracy. He shouldn’t even wait a day longer or even till 2007. The nation and Nigerains are tired of his corrupt and evil regime,” Rimi counseled. Should the president fail to resign as admolished, Rimi said: “People have to come out to demostrate to show their resistance to unconstitutionality and contradiction of fighting corruption but leaving a corrupt presidency to continue to flow in corruption.
He accused the president of several shady business deals. “Everybody now knows the president has a hand in many businesses and in the sale of government properties. People know now that he has a hand in Transcorp, Virgin Nigeria and Oando oil,” he stated. The politician further charged Nigerians to defy any crisis that may be imposed on the country and prepare to vote during the 2007 elections, which he said must hold, whether the president desires it or not.
