It is barely 3 months since the arrest and detention of the massob boss Chief Raph Uwazuruike. But I have not noticed or seen any reaction from the Igbos in diaspora.
I want to know whether they are no longer interested in the existence of the independent Biafra.

If not, why not. Please my fellow Igbos, forget about ohaneze and their unfatherly roll towards ndi Igbo.
I know the struggle is not an easy task,
but it has to be done for the sake of the Igbo nation and their children.
I just want you people to realise that the land you are now someone fought for it and made it to be a place of milk and honey.

My Igbo brothers please try and form a strong Igbo organisation outside the country, remain united , let us forget the job seeking Igbo leaders and look forward to somebody like Uwazuruike.
Thanks let us achieve Biafra, for it is our right

Nwabueze thank you for your message and welcome.
What you are saying is true.
Uwazurike has been in detention for 3 months and most Igbo in diaspora have done nothing but leave him to his fate.

Brothers, I beg to lightly differ; there have been peaceful demonstrations in Europe and Australia, Asia. Also BF and other outfits are sending non-stop petitions to International bodies to this effect. BTW: Where's the efulefu assembly they call wic and its efulefu leadership? Ah ha! The bunch of hungry jobbers in that assembly with all their padded educational claim and litany of bought titles missed that Mazi Uwazurike did not commit any criminal infraction as such does not belong where he’s at.

I thought Damian said the house is going to come down if the Mr. Uwazurismall is ever arrested, and now the poor guy has been sitting his shitty ass in jail for almost 90 good days now, but the likes of Damian have disappeared from the radar leaving the poor guy to rotten away in the hell dungeon called KiriKiri.

You guys should not worry for now, just take consolation in the fact that he is in good company with Dokubo, Gani and Fasheun. They are all looking for cheap publicity and they have gotten exactly what they deserved. Let them rot away there because nobody is missing them except their immediate family.

It takes little imagination to understand why you would seek to avoid the damning revelations being made about barbaric practices in your Celestial sect. See the "Islam is a Peaceful religion" thread. But, it should be possible for you to play possum in that thread without resorting, in this thread, to baseless fabrications concerning MASSOB. As the self-proclaimed "EzeGburuGburu of BiafraNigeriaWorld," you ought to at least be able to provide some citation to support what you wrote.

I know you don't expect me to announce the efforts we are making toward Biafra and the well being of Chief Uwazuruike to the enemies of Biafra such as yourself who lurk here at BNW. Whatever you propose to mean by the term "the house is going to come down," if you understood the principles of Biafra as espoused by BLM/BCIA, you would have readily seen the absurdity of your own writing.

You are really going to have to do more to explain your own role as an elder of the Celestial sect. I am mortified by the barbaric practices that are part of your rituals in the Cele Church. Notice that I have been queasy to use the term "Church" to describe what clearly seems to be a Koreshic sect.

P/S
Do you still preside over the voodoo ANA scholarship scheme, or has it gone the usual way of things Nigerian, kaput?

Happy New Year!

bababoyz:

You love to take cheap shots at and drag the Administrator into your posts without justification. You could have posted your press release in the press release section of this site just like you did when you called for donations. You have published several press releases on BNW since the webmaster made the following announcement:
quote:
Due to time constraints and the large number of press releases that we receive each day, BiafraNigeriaWorld encourages all groups based in North America, Europe, Australia, and most parts of Asia to post their own press releases in this forum. We have made exceptions for groups based in Africa and South America because those groups are more likely to be limited in their access to the Internet.

Press releases posted here in this forum will automatically appear on the BNW homepage.

Why is it that most of the beneficiaries of the Association of Nigerians Abroad scholarship are Yoruba? How did you pick the winners? We all know that there are more Igbo people abroad than Yoruba people. Moreover, ANA is mainly a North American group and Igbo people are dominant in North America.

Odester Nchege:

Thank you for the information about the Press Release and I will take note of that next time around. I apologized to the Administrator because I realized I misspoke about the press release.

As regards to the awardees, ANA members can only do much about the respondents to the scholarship program and it is only from the pool of applicants that eventual winners can be selected. The selection of winners is based strictly on merit and no attempts are ever made to favor one particular geographic location over the other.

Contrary to your assertion, ANA is not a North America base organization; rather it draws its membership from Nigerians all over the world except those who live Nigeria. The immediate past president of ANA and the one before him are residents of South Africa, and the current Financial Secretary resides in England. ANA has membership in USA, Germany, Austria, Australia, Gabon, China, England, South Africa, Canada and other places around the world. ANA is a unique organization among Nigerians organization in the Diaspora because it is the only due paying non-profit Nigerian organization that can boast of membership across the globe.

ANA membership is open to all Nigerians of good moral character and if you meet the criteria of good moral character, please visit ANA at www.ananet.org and fill out an application form.

I am very happy about the reply some of you gave me and i want to say keep it up.

I also want to use this opportunity to know your how far you have gone with the pro organisation of Igbos in diaspora.

I expect so much from you people because we the people at home need your help,; we can't do without you people.
In your meeting there, like what Amadi O has said' ' we need to acquire sophiscated arms for Biafra./
I also want to now whether any international community has recognised this struggle of self-determination.
Keep going on with the struggle, dont relent in it , you people are our light there, so we expect your help, we can't go any where if we continue here without your help.

Arm struggle is the only solution, no nation has ever won independence with out arm struggle. The arm sruggle i am advocating has to start in igbo land b/cs some of the so called igbo elites are more dangerous to (Biafran cause) than nigeria itself. When we remove these yokes from our necks i bet you, the independent will be achieve quicker than we thought, i will bet my life on this. I don't believe in pacifying with my enemy and we on this board could write the best write up and not backing the BIAFRA CAUSE with arms, achieving BIAFRA will be a myth with non violence, the only thing that brings the enemy to the negociating table is tit fot tat when he/she hits you, you hit back ten folds. My father usually tells this story all the time, one guy usually beats up his wife all the time for almost twenty something years and the wife never hits back, until one faithful day the wife went to the market and bought a matchet and start filing it with salt and water the guy ran away and reported her to his umunna. The woman was brought before umunna and she narrated her beating and surfering to umu- NNA from the hands of her husband and she told UMU- NNA that the day she bought the matchet would have been the end of her tormentor being her husband, Umu-nna sided with her and warned her husband that any other time he raises his hand against her (any time) that the woman should use (any means necessary) to defend herself, her matchet wasn't taken away from her as a deterrent to the husband. I arrest my case

One can fool OHA most of the time, but eventually OHA will catch up.
Those who know the truth but conveniently turn a blind eye will pay dearly when the truth is exposed. And those who think they can use this revolution for their selfish interest instead of doing right by OHA will continue to fail.

Those who think they can continue to fool OHA, whether it be the false claims that,

1) President Bush has recognized Biafra;
2) The Pope has recognized Biafra;
3) Biafra now has a sit in the UN;
4) Forcing OHA to accept worthless currency
5) Etc;

will definitely bury their heads in shame and will be dragged down with the 419’ers they continue to associate with, especially when they know the truth but have chosen a path of deceit and lies instead of a path of truth and honor, forgetting that in New Biafara, OHA and the ‘rule of law’ is supreme.

Daily Sun

2 dead in MASSOB, vigilance group clash
By NWABUEZE OKONKWO, Onitsha
Friday, February 17, 2006

Barely a week after members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) clashed with policemen in Onitsha which claimed four lives with several injured, no fewer than two persons lost their lives, while several others suffered injuries on Thursday in Onitsha as MASSOB men clashed with a vigilance group in a riotuous episode that lasted for hours inside the Onitsha Main Market.

The incident which occurred in the morning hours, started when the MASSOB members allegedly invaded the Main Market, forcing traders to accept the Biafran currency as a legal tender for the exchange of goods.

It was, however, confirmed that they were without arms, but out of fear, the authority of the market ordered the local vigilante group in the market to challenge them.
Daily Sun learnt that at the end of the face-off which lasted for some hours, two bodies were found lying stone dead with many others seriously injured.

This made traders to scamper for safety thereby abandoning their goods to run for dear lives.
When Daily Sun visited the General Hospital along Awka Road, where most of the injured traders were taken for treatment, three traders who suffered gunshot wounds were seen receiving medical treatment with police report that had been issued to them.

The chairman, Onitsha Main Market, Mr. Samuel Uzor, while speaking to newsmen, confirmed that the riot was caused by MASSOB members who were forcing traders to take Biafran currency, alleging that they came to attack the market with matchets, guns and knives.

Uzor stressed that the local vigilance group of the market and the police have arrested some of them.
While speaking on the incident, the police Area Commander for Onitsha, Mr. Dennis Anyagafu (ACP) said he received reports that armed robbers invaded the Onitsha and Nnewi markets, adding that the motive of the invasion was yet unknown to him.

Anyagafu who also confirmed that some people have been arrested in connection with the incident, however, could not confirm the number of arrests so far made by the police.
He added that the incident happened simultaneously at Onitsha and Nnewi markets but still waiting for detailed reports on the riot.

Please take a deep breathe and calm down. It is not good to be attacking your fellow Ibos when the Feds are already doing a good job shooting and jailing them. If you continue on this path of shame I will drive you mad like Nwa Aro. Your hands and that of your friend Emeka Onumonu(Arthur Nzeribe's brother) are too dirty to approach equity!

A word is enough for the wise. Ignore my warning to your peril.

Sister Nwa Asaba,

If Maazi Nzeogwu and other coupists had done their homework, they would have realized that you do not take on other people’s problems without counting the cost on the effects on their people. But because they meant well and had the welfare of Nigeria in mind, Igbo had no choice but swallow the bitter pills.
I do not have to remind you the cost that Igbo continue to pay because of the hasty decision of these our sons!

If those (Ndi Igbo) in position of responsibility or those who knew the truth about the Igbo leadership, during the Biafra/Nigeria war, had stood unwaveringly on the truth, Biafra would have won the war in record time!
If they had stepped forward even after the war, Igbo will not be in the position Igbo is now, and would have actualized the Republic of Biafra even after the complete and total defeat of Igbo.

Any Igbo in Diaspora who even at this moment pretends he/she does not know the truth and allows 419’ers, liars and thieves to continue deceiving his/her brethren is worth nothing and is no better the thieves and 419’ers he/she continue to place above OHA.
Any Igbo who even in this struggle for survival thinks he/she can use Igbo has seen nothing yet.
We took on Abache, …., even Obasanjo, I must be quaking in my shoes because Ada Asaba is now on the war path – TUFIAKWA!
If you are afraid of the truth, that is your problem, and you bet it is meaningless to millions of Igbo who at this very moment continue in misery and poverty, many not even able to feed their children, because brethren like you refuse to stand on the truth.

Those who think they can use Igbo are on their own, and they will carry whatever they bring upon themselves.
Igbo is greater than every one of us, and this time around Igbo will not fail!

EZIOKWU BU NDU.

If this article does not open the minds and eyes of southerners, particularly those one-nigerian Igbos standing on the sidelines, I don't know what will. Can people who believe that it is evil to kill live in harmony with those (idi amin bin daud) that believe killing innocent southerners brings fresher than fresh virgins to them? What a thwarted thinking!

quote:
Shall Umuigbo and the good people of the World allow MASSOB Leaders to die in the hands of Obasanjo ?

Uwazurike/Okwukwu Freedom Campaign – UOFC
Treasonable Truth?

- By Rev. Fr. Emefiena Ezeani - London, U.K

I have, as most of you have, followed the story of Uwazurike, Okwukwu and some others and the state of Nigeria, but let us first refresh our memory:

For decades, Christians, Southerners and especially the Igbo have been repeatedly set upon and murdered in their tens of thousands by Northern Nigerian Moslems. It is now almost an annual (sometimes monthly) ritual in the Moslem North to burn churches, Christian owned businesses and to murder Christians. Let us look at some of the reasons.

(1) When angry about scarcity of some commodities in the markets in Nigeria, Northern Moslems of Nigeria would kill hundreds or thousands of Eastern Christians of Nigeria, and mostly the Igbo (started in the 40s);

(2) When America bombs Iraq, Northern Moslems of Nigeria would kill hundreds or thousands of Eastern Christians of Nigeria, and mostly the Igbo. What have the Igbo got to do with the war in Iraq, for instance?

(3) When the world wants to stage a Beauty Contest in Nigeria, Northern Moslems of Nigeria would kill hundreds or thousands of Eastern Christians of Nigeria, and mostly the Igbo;

(4) When Israel avenges Palestinian suicide bombing of Israelis, Northern Moslems of Nigeria would kill hundreds or thousands of Eastern Christians of Nigeria, and mostly the Igbo;

(5) When Salman Rushdie, a Moslem and a non-African, writes Satanic Verses Northern Moslems of Nigeria would kill hundreds or thousands of Eastern Christians of Nigeria, and mostly the Igbo;

(6) When somebody from Denmark in Europe draws a cartoon of Mohammed, Moslems of Nigeria (who did not even see the cartoon) would kill hundreds or thousands of Christians, and mostly the Igbo; etc.

In almost all these unprovoked massacres whole families are wiped out. In the most recent incident in relation to the cartoon of Mohammed, a report has it that more than 25 Igbo families (fathers, mothers and their children) were, as usual, wiped out in one area alone in the North. Hundreds were slaughtered elsewhere. And the Nigerian government has, as usual, done
nothing. This is ONE NIGERIA! I sometimes ask myself: 'What actually do the Northern Nigerian Moslems and/or the Nigerian government want from the people of the South East of Nigeria?'

The world speaks of terrorism today, but the Igbo and other people from the South East of Nigeria have known terrorism in Northern Nigeria since 1945.
Besides the 2 million dead in the Biafran war of self-determination, the Igbo alone may have lost over 100,000 people to Northern Nigerian Moslems' knives, guns, grenades, fire bombs, cudgels and stones.

In addition to the never ending cycle of murder of the Igbo; the Ijaw, the Efik, the Ogoni, the Ibibio and many others in the South East of Nigeria face other hazards of existence in Nigeria. Let us not forget the economic and political marginalisation of the South East or the fact that about 90% of Nigerian wealth comes from the Niger Delta oil wells. Let us not forget
the unwritten policy of strangulation of the people of South East of Nigeria by different Nigerian governments. Let us face the fact: The amount of discrimination and persecution meted out to some people in Nigeria because of their ethnicity is unimaginable.

Bewildered by all these unexplainable injustice, violence and constant massacres of their people, Uwazurike and other people like him get up and make sensible demands such as: Since you do not want to accept us (Easterners or the Igbo) to be part of Nigeria with our lives guaranteed,
let us go our own way. For this he and Okwukwu and others have been charged with treasonable felony.

It is as clear as day light that the South Eastern Nigeria or the Igbo are not accepted in Nigeria. At the same time, they are not allowed to leave Nigeria in peace. Those who have the courage to say, are not even permitted to say, they are tired of Nigeria and so would like to paddle their own
canoe. Where is the Democracy? Where is the freedom of _expression?

Moreover, are we honestly convinced that those who have the religious belief that killing the infidels for whatever reason will gain them Paradise and those who have the contrary belief; that is, killing is a mortal sin that would lead them to the Hell fire, will ever live in unity and peace?

I am aware that Uwazurike has been waging a campaign of NON-VIOLENCE. I may not be a believer in his political philosophy but I accept he has the right to hold any political belief as Obasanjo or any other person has and that he has also the right to demand for self determination from a system that is seen to make him and his people nothing more than perpetual slaves. People everywhere have the right to say Yes or No to any form of partnership. Uwazurike, Uche Okwukwu and any other person have the primary freedom to say they want or they do not want to be part of Nigeria-partnership. This is not a treasonable offence but rather their democratic right. Again, Okwukwu, as a lawyer acting for his client, is obliged to maintain the professional
lawyer-client confidentiality. But the Nigerian government calls all this treason!

May the Nigerian government tell the world about how much money Uwazurike controls and where he keeps the weaponry with which to wage war against the Nigerian government, as the government claim.

I was in Abacha regime's Security Agents' list because of Obasanjo and Ken Saro-Wiwa. I am sad that today Obasanjo-government is doing to people who work for justice and freedom what Abach-government did to him and others.

I am therefore calling on all men and women of goodwill everywhere to investigate the case of UWAZURIKE and OKWUKWU and say NO to the oppressive hands of the Nigerian government. I also call upon the Christian Churches in Nigeria and elsewhere to get up and speak out in accord with the Gospel they preach. Let all Christians and their leaders note that they have been given the Spirit of the Lord and have been anointed to to preach Good News to the
poor . to proclaim release to the Captives, recovery of sight to the Blind and to set at liberty those who are Oppressed (Lk. 4:18-19). Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mtt.5:10).

'The man dies in all who keep silence in the face of tyranny,' so says Soyinka and rightly too.

I ask myself - who has to support the brave people in Nigeria when their own people abroad do not do it? - A German.

I concur with the verse, if, you are deaf,dumb and blind. This kind of verse or what i called soothing balm, for wounds, is not what the igbos need at this time of their life. The verse suppose to be relegated under the table, igbos are religious enough we don't need to be reminded of the verse. LORD in his infinite mercy and wisdom gave us humans every thing to defend ourself in time of annihilation or what ever, it's like you coming home and you saw your wife being rape, instead of you mowing that person down or trying to protect your wife, as she keep calling your name, all you did was to pray and ask GOD for help.The igbo first commandment in nigeria ought to be (defending and protecting your own and the weak) with anything, i say with anything at your disposal is your inalienable right that supersede's any parts and parcel of that cursed nation's constitution period, let Almighty God be the judge in the life after.

The Federal government and its agencies have been called upon to release the detained leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

Speaking with newsmen in Owerri, Chief Uche Onyeagocha, a lawyer, said that under the 1999 Constitution, Uwazuruike and other detained MASSOB members had committed no offence and that this was responsible for the inability of the authorities to make any headway in putting then on trial.

He said that the mayhem at Onitsha, Anambra State, during which traders and innocent citizens were killed, could have been averted, if the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, had done his homework well.

According to him, the merger between MASSOB and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is very thin and that no serious member of the party can say categorically that he, or she, has no link with the movement.

He maintained that it is this merger between MASSOB and APGA that is responsible for the fears expressed by people and that the governor had all its takes as an APGA member to call the movement to order at Onitsha, rather than inviting the soldiers who shot to kill.

"If I hear that MASSOB has taken over any place in Owerri, I do not need to go there. All I need do is make some phone calls and the people will leave the place. This is what the governor should have done. But he did not do it."

"I hold Governor Peter Obi responsible for the mayhem at Onitsha because he had no reason to call in the army. All he had to do was to ask the MASSOB people to leave the place and they would gladly listen to him."

Onyeagocha said he had printed and circulated handbills and used other avenues, including phone calls, to authorities to convince the people on the need to release Uwazuruike so that he could carry on with his life.

He explained that the hoisting of the Biafran flags and exchange of the Biafran currency did not constitute an offence under the 1999 Constitution and that keeping him in detention was an offence. "I have studied the book (1999 Constitution) extensively and I know it.

GOD BLESS MAZI UCHE ONYEAGOCHA A TRUE EMBODIMENT OF HIS FATHER WHO WAS A COMPLETE AND UNASSUMING GENTLEMAN!!

Good for you, Mazi (Attorney) Onyeagocha, for calling for the release of MASSOB members and the MASSOB leader, Ralph Uwazurike.

Mazi Onyeagocha has consistently demonstrated that he knows what is right from wrong, and has always spoken correctly, even though he is right there in the midst of the horrible SSS and murderous Nigeria Police and other violent Nigerian agents. The SSS have detained him at least once, but he has always stood his ground.

This is the example we are calling on all Igbo and all Biafrans to emulate. This is the Igbo / Biafran Spirit which Nigeria is so afraid of, and which Nigeria wants to extirpate at all costs. And, it will cost Nigeria all it has, yet, Biafra lives on to greater glories.

Thank you, Mazi Onyeagocha. Biafra thanks you. We trust our people will be inspired by your stance.

Folks,
Let me seize this time to thank Mazi Onyeagocha for his fearless stand on the detained Massob leader. May God bless you and keep you safe from OBJ'S killing machine.

The question of this post (if i understand it right) is what are Igbos in diaspora doing about the arrest of massob leader and others in OBJ'S detention?

NOBODY ANSWERED THIS VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION!! Instead the response i read here is irrelevant to the question. The ANSWER to this question, if i may, is that Igbo's in diaspora are DOING NOTHING period. Except someone here will tell us otherwise.
