Under yoruba management, allegedly the most "shofisticated, best educated" group on the African continent, US has declared nigeria a lawless country.
The question is: how can this be? Why is it that yoruba tribesmen can, on one hand claim to be best educated, while in practical terms have become the worst managers of people and the economy ever in nigeria, even worse than all the hausa presidents that the yoruba loves to hold in contempt.
Under yoruba management, we have seen the entire economy trashed; corruption, pay-offs, bribery, lawlessness, have become the rule for business and in social interaction. The yoruba culture is ascendant, but what people see of it is freightening: shameless, carefree owambe attitude to the basics, including the economy, law and order, the health of the environmnet. There is no interest in building things or keeping them up; no interests in growing the economy; no interest in job creation; no attempt to use the "the best educated" to prove something for others on the African continent looking for examples of the magic of "best educated yoruba" to copy.
In the meantime, the thug olusegun obasanjo who runs the entire failed edifice without regard to law and order, has continued to ignore responsibility for his personal failures; has failed to prove that the yoruba culture in place today can be used as a framework to build a modern economy that can support the growing African population in Biafranigeria. Instead hiding under the apron of Western protection, purchased with Biafran oil money, olusegun obasanjo continues to embarass his tribesmen by refusing to quit loafing around in a position of power.
Again we remind the yoruba to do something now to defend its claim of being the best educated. The best way to do this is to encourage and support olusegun obasanjo to produce a clear evidence of a growing economy and an improving standard of living for the people. He also needs to show evidence that he is really fighting corruption by auditing the accounts of the works minitry under Mr. Tony Anineh in the least. Time is running out; it will be hard after this yoruba kitchen cabinet to ever claim again of competence in anything.

It is one thing acquiring a paper degree and quite another demonstrating the kind of knowledge that promotes productivity. One glaring evidence that taught degrees without common sense gets you nowhere is that Nigeria relies 95% on oil for foreign exchange earning. In other words, if the 'illitrate' not-so-sophisticated inhabitants of the oil region wake up from their slumber, Nigeria will be gone. Another evidence that acquisition of useless degrees gets you nowhere is the ongoing mess in Oyo state. It is one thing to have a university degree which helps you deduce that two thirds of thirty two is more than twenty. It clearly takes a lot more to put shallow self interest aside to be able to make meaningful use of the arithmetic. And when you remember this is happening in Oyo State where Richard Akinjide of two third of nineteen fame hails, you really have little option but conclude that a stupid man even with a university degree is beyond rehabilitation. It is painful that when you need lawyers to make forceful argument to save their country Nigeria suddenly begins to play second fiddle e.g Nigeria vs Cameroun re:Bakassi. If however you start counting Senior Advocates of Nigeria, you will run out of space. I do not know the percentage of Oyo state lawmakers who have a law degree but I guess it will be a very significant proportion of them. Unfortunately, I have heard enough insults directed at traders who earn their living from lazy backyard degree owners.

Hopefully by then Biafra would be an independent nation already.
But the on-going yoruba mismanagement is hard to comprehend. Oil prices are the highest they have ever been in a prolonged bull market. nigeria treasury is awash with oil money, or is it? We hear of $27B foreign reserves, as if that by itself is an end, not a means to archiving a growing economy and improved standard of living, the only two economic indicators that mean a thing.
Again can some "best educated" yoruba explain to us what is going on. Imagine that this dismal, 6-year darming record was set by an awusa man; imagine how enthuiastic the loud-mouth press will lead the charge of hausa incompentence and yoruba "best educated, shofisticted" culture? This is the time to prove it.

Long before Enron and false accounting made headlines, my father's best friend used to talk about newspaper money. I suppose 27 billion obasanjo dollars is not worth that much in the real world. Where do you think Adedibu's share of security vote come from?

Is it not on record that I weathered all sorts of crude bombarding insults awhile back, my offense being that I tried to refocus the legal attention from the stupid appellations most pursue instead to concentrate on the real legal work? Yet none of these guys have a clue as to the level of education I hold and put to practice each day. They ain't seen nothing yet!

they failed because: those who introduces Corruption, contract inflation and stealing of public money in nigeria after the death of muritala mohammed, can never fight corruption- yes OBJ, abiola and some of their kinsmen taught the hesistant Notherners how to steal public funds when he OBJ took over as head of state. their first major criminal operation was addition of so many zeros on 80 million naira ITT contract awarded to Abiola- thats was the begining of contract inflation in nigeria of today! .............. again the parasitic, greedy and tribalistic nature of some yoruba leaders are hampering their ability to manage anything well in coperate nigeria. for instance all the obnoxious, inhuman, most wicked and evil Laws meant to subdue, strangulate, and enslave a particular regions- like dichotomy Law-(awolowo), land use decree (Obasanjo), contoversial 20 pounds for any igbos(awolowo) etc were put in place by the yorubas.not necessary out of hatread, but out of insatiable Greed and envy- awolowo woun´t have made the devilish dichotomy law if the inhabitant of niger Delta were Yorubas.. no he wont! ............................. anyway for the sake of good yorubas, like gani, soyinka etc who are non parasitic, non tribalistic nor greedy lets not use the blanket statement of the late wada Nas declaration " a whole tribe have failed the nation" statement no! better say Obasanjo have failed the Nation and he must Go! go! go! go! go! go!!! now!

Does the yoruba in a nigerian public office have a criminal mindset to loot and defraud?
Why don't we have the financial records for NNPC from olusegun obasanjo the Minister of Crude Oil since 1999? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Yoruba Nation: What's Up?
As a child growing up, I was made to understand that the Yoruba is the most educated, most organized, most intelligent, most united, most sophisticated, best politicians and most everything under the sun. The same was said of the north minus the most educated. In my adult life I am beginning to question whether that notion is a fact or a myth. Whatever it is, Obasanjo and the drama going on in Ibadan have shown that all those notions are a myth.
It has also been said that Awolowo could have been the best leader Nigeria would have ever produced, but given the Obasanjo phenomenon and Yoruba leaders political antecedents, I don’t know how many people that still hold to that fallacy. I cannot decipher the difference between the late chief Awolowo and chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Both have history of treasonable felony, both are ex-convicts, both are tribal zealots, both are igbo haters, both are opportunists, both are introverts, both are corrupt, both have no human conscience.
Well people will argue that the late chief died before he could actualize his three attempts, but he left an imprint that leaves no one in doubt as to what kind of prime minister or president he would have been. After the northern military mutiny in the summer of 1966, General Ojukwu released Awolowo from Calabar prison. By 1967, the late chief had become Gowon’s finance minister and vice chairman of the federal executive council. Between then, while chief Anthony Enahoro was junketing the world denouncing Ojukwu and 50% resource control which Ojukwu had successfully secured for the south at Aburi Ghana, Awolowo was advocating and implementing starvation against Ndigbo as a weapon of war, never minding the young, the pregnant women and the elderly. Never mind that he had advised and supported that there was no basis for Nigerian unity. Such that east would go, west would go, mid-west would go and north would go. Never mind that in 1952, he injected tribalism into the nation’s political horizon by undermining Dr.Nnamdi Azikiwe’s opportunity to become premier of the west Nigeria, through his tribal bigotry.
As for Aremu, I wonder if he could have still been in power if it hadn’t been for Ndigbo. What happened to his first term, 1999 through 2003 when there were no Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwuala, Prof. Charles Soludo or Dr. Oby Ezekwsili? Yet this man would stop at nothing to undermine Ndigbo and what they stand for. Supposing there were no Ngozi Iwuala, no Soludo, no Akunyiri, no Ernest Ndukwu and no Oby Ezekwesili, what would have Nigeria been like under Obasanjo? Yet if this opportunist was not in Akwa Ibom desecrating Ojukwu, and Ndigbo and how he single handedly defeated Biafra, he would be at Amichi reminding Ndigbo how he averted their massacre at the end of the civil war in which Britain and Russia as well as US inaction fought for them.
During his first term, a period of yorubaniztion of Nigeria and her resources, he spent the whole four years creating political and economic empire for the yoruba. He had ‘Prof’ Borishade in the ministry of education, who refused to up grade Alvan Ikoku college of education to a university, but in partnership with Dr. Peter Okebukola of the NUC, they flooded Yoruba land with mediocre universities in the name of private universities, while other states or tribes were denied their applications for more universities. He had one Olujmni in the ministry of justice as A-G, whose legacy was injustice and misinterpretation of Nigeria’s constitution. He has Martin Kuye as the de-facto minister of finance, who in alliance with Joseph Sanusi in the central bank making sure the oil money was being dumped in the west, hitherto Obasanjo was and is still the oil minister. In the police establishment, first he had Alhaji Muslin K. Smith, whose legacy was intrusion and humiliation of the nation’s senate president, the late Dr. Okadigbo. Perhaps he was too slow in his application of police to terrorize Nigerians, he booted him out and brought in one the most notorious hypocrite Africa has known in police uniform named Alhaji Mustafa Balogun. With Tafa Balogun in the police hierarchy, the rest is history. At NNPC, when perhaps chief Gaius Obaseki was not remitting enough money to the coffer of the west, he booted him out and replaced him with Kukpolokun, PPRA has Gbadamosi, and DPR has another Yoruba, the yorubanization of Nigeria’s oil resources was complete. In the financial and administration department, it was wholesome with Joseph Sanusi in the central bank, Naijeyu in the general accounting, Joseph Ajiboye was and is still is in the general auditing. The security department was not left out in the Yoruba factor. Perhaps what the late chief Awolowo could not complete in his life time, Obasanjo completed it in four years. He was not done yet. With the help of corruption, he sent Nigeria’s oil money to the gullible Nigerians in the nation’s parliament and like starving dogs unleashed from the barn and saw a heap of fried meat outside the barn, your guess is as good as mine. That was the end of Nigeria’s NASS. Today what we continue to hear is, Obasanjo building university in Badagary, Cargo international airport in Abeokuta, Ogun state, giant oil refinery in Ogun state, typical of the then northern military and political war lords that suffocated Kaduna with industries and federal establishments on the absence of non in other geo-political Nigeria.
If you think Obasanjo has exposed the Yoruba unity, administrative and intellectual fallacy, wait until you hear this. During the late chief MKO Abiola presidential row, while he was being locked up by that ‘sariki yanka’(killer-in-chief) called Sani Abacha, many prominent yorubas, about 20 in number under the chairmanship of the crying and prostrating ‘General’ Donaldson Oladipo Diya, were converged in Kaduna soliciting for Abiola’s indefinite detention in exchange for contracts and political appointments. The trade-off in long detention of the late chief and robbery of his presidential mandate saw the yorubas flooding Abacha junta with more ministers than any other ethnic group in Nigeria. As if that was not enough tribal tragedy and humiliation, the man who annulled Abiola’s presidential victory was whole heartedly received and embraced by the same Abiola’s brother in Yoruba land, and the echo of Babangida’s presidential ambition is loudest in the Yoruba territory. In 2003, Obasanjo carried the most sophisticated political 419 against the Yoruba nation. They fell for it, again in exchange for the same familiar terms- contracts and political positions. Like a raging fire, the west was over run by the PDP. The same west was given a new year gift in January 13, 2006 in Ibadan from Obasanjo through Alhaji Adedibu. The most educated people on Africa soil could not fathom the mathematical 2/3 of a given number. In 1979, the same west had problem figuring out 2/3 of 19. Hey! Brothers and sisters from the west what’s up? May be you have to go back and learn buying and selling like Nigbo according to one sister named Modupe Adelalaja. If the Yoruba nation allowed the façade in Ibadan to stand, their claim of unity, intellectual and political wisdom are punctured forever.
It does not matter any longer if Dr. Nwabueze Ngige was removed by Obasanjo today or tomorrow through the instrument of his personified judiciary, Ndigbo have shown and demonstrated to Obasanjo that they are the most united and were no pushovers. Never mind the likes of Ubas, Maduekwes, Nzeribes and Mbadiwes. He used the late AIG Rafael Ige to over throw Ngige, Ndigbo resisted him. He employed the service of justice Egbo-Egbo, Ndigbo showed him that they are educated in the legal field as well. He employed the service of justice Stanley Nnaji, again that blew in his face. He employed the service of Tafa Balogun. Balogun true to his nature, withdrew the police security service of governor Ngige, Ndigbo supplied him security personnel. Today Ngige is still the governor of Anambra State, while Tafa Balogun is in prison, Egbo-Egbo is out of judicial service and Stanley Nnaji is dismissed from the judicial service. In November of 2004, he armed pervert Chris Uba and his hoodlums, with his police supervision, these hoodlums unleashed mayhem in Anambra State, hoping that Ndigbo would retaliate which would play into his hands to employ the state of emergency, but Ndigbo showed him the road to advancement and wisdom. The state assembly members remained steady fast and ignored all his entreaties. In Ibadan it did not take the acting chief judge and 18 members in the 32 member house of assembly more than 48 hrs to remove governor Rashid Ladoje and install a less than high school pervert as deputy governor.
Today Afenifere is calling for impeachment of Obasanjo, alleging constitutional infringements. Haba! Was it not the same Afenifere in 2003, that threatened fire and brimstone should Obasanjo be impeached and even went as far as declaring Arthur Nzeribe, the author of Obasanjo’s twenty-one constitutional violations a persona non-graecia in Lagos. Among all the ministers in Obasnjo’s cabinet I can not think of any Yoruba minister or ministers making any headline in excellence in national development. Mr. Ojo his A-G and minister of justice has proved that all what Yoruba stand for in national political service is salary and spoil of the office. Mr. Ojo as we know was the president of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA for short, during which he was very vocal in calling Obasanjo regime to respect the rule of law and Nigeria’s judicial pronouncements. Today as the A-G and minister of justice, he has fallen in the same class of Olujimni of Obasanjo first term and Dr. Olu Onagoruwa under Abacha. Same lip service and yes type A-Gs.
Dr. Onagoruwa was known for his legal strength and was critical of military regimes. But once appointed attorney-general by Abacha, he subverted the press freedom by closing media houses viz, Guardian News paper and co. Mr. Ojo would never see any illegality in Obasanjo’s political actions, so long he would be allowed to draw salary and enjoy the spoil of the office. Mr. Ojo is presiding the plat form by which Obasanjo violates the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. From the scheming and all tricks going on in an effort to actualize Obasanjo’s third term, is anyone still in doubt as to why he handed over very quickly to Alhaji Shehu Shagari in 1979? Several people had attributed his 1979 hand over as statesmanship, but it is clear now that his action was purely on personal safety based on military and political exigency then as opposed to statesmanship. The military then was dominated by the northern Moslems and would not relinquish power to any other tribe. The north then saw the southern Nigerians and Christians as subservient and 2nd class citizens. Any challenge to the power from any other tribe was unacceptable. Remember Atiku Abubakar great quote: “The north determines the direction of Nigeria’s politics and her political temperature. When the north sneezes the rest of the country catches cold”. That was vintage Atiku Abubakar.

One nigeria baa? And when we point to such imbalance we’re termed moon shiners or is it star gazers rather than address the core issues facing a worthless country whose electronic transactions are being rejected by every quasi nation left, ringht, center. Most times I wonder how the decent ones among them remain silent in the face of clear injustice as seen from the post above.

"shofisticated" Treachery in high places: An incompetent president at work, playing his best hand in the yoroba tradition. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellows,
SNAKE OIL: Yoruba 1-0 Igbo, Yoruba 1-0 Hausa.
The above is the real score. How?
The AREWA has just found out what some IGBO had known for a while. No body can beat the master in his snake oil dealings. The AREWA cannot hide their bedroom talks anymore. From Adamawa to Sokoto, Koano to maidugiri, they are shouting from ontop of their roofs. Things are very bad. Those so called tough Governors, then backed by guns are now left with finger pointing. Gowan is left with leaking text messages on cell phones from insiders. Marwa refunding millions. Buhari cant win in Court where Hausa is Chief Judge, even after Malu wiped out villages like ODI for Obasanjo.
The Hausa and Yoruba plotted together, kickedout and took away PDP from Igbo, made Yoruba Oduduwa the head, even though the Oduduwas were not interested in this party and were no members. They had their own Owambe Party. Now the North has been kicked out of this party {Robin Hood Style} and are now forming another party of disgruntled AREWANS. This monster the Hausa helped train and cultivate into the power sharing deals has gone against them. He is working against them. He has denied signing any deal in the Bathroom of Saduana of Sokoto. The video they took of him with Emir of Kaho, crying for the position is no good. Those present, witnessed when he was begging VP Atiku for one more term have gone into hiding afraid of being probed. He has kicked them out of the army -- The main souce of fund. Then went to BUNKERING. Now, he is bringing the MARINES to shot it down. [BIaFRAN BLOCKADE].
He has given part of their lands to Zimbabwen farmers to teach farming to Hausa!! [Remember how they gave away BAKASSI]. They forgot he is Yoruba, the son of ODUDUWA
Lets go back few years in history around 1967. Gen. Ojukwu made a deal with a Yoruba leader. It was on how to deal with the north, the issue of Igbo killings in the north because of the coup. The person was Awolowo. He was released from prison on treason charge against the FED. He promised to go home in peace and declare ODUDUWA country and be calm so the Igbo can take care of business.
He went home to ODUDUWA land, changed his mind and deed the Igbo in with starvation and blockade, and all Yoruba promotions in the civil service. The HAUSA was happy with the betrayal and they lived very comfortably for many years. The willed and dealt, shared power and wealth at the expense of Igbo.
In the 1990, another son of Oduduwa, Abiola, who had been involved financially in every coup plotted since 1970, and was jailed till his death, tried to follow the foot step of ODUDUWA himself. He told Igbo that he can rule Nigeria without Igbo. He said it to everybody who wanted to hear. He dealt with Hausa, but that Hausa did not want to get out of office. Abiola was side stepped and sidelined . The Hausa got another Oduduwa son from jail for the position..
This time, this Oduduwa son has been tested for being anti-igbo in many ways. His name is Obasanjo. He was in jail for planning a coup against the FED. They used him as a trusted ally to side line and side step an Igbo called Alex Ekwueme. They gave him scripts and tables of operations. Hand over dates that go with deals as given to obedient son and servant.
NO! NO!! NO!!, Haba, Allah no go gree!! They are being swindled like father like son. The son of ODUDUWA overstayed by 4years, and is planning another 4 years more. He even has retired all those who can tell him SHUT UP. All the people who installed him have lost all their insider army Generals, promoted in the army, left behind to help bring them back. To make matters worse, he is probing and trying to lock up their candidates in jail for stealing some of the money they used in installing and backing this Oduduwa son.. To humiliate them, he is talking of keeping the Presidency in the south for another 8years. Those who want to be in power from the North will be dead by them!! By then the whole North would have forgotten how to be President, by COUP. The journey will then be tougher. They will now have to deal and build bridges. They will now look for other people other than the sons of Oduduwa.
But others, from different regions, want to be President too. The people who own the oil want to build bridges and have Julius Bagger dredge water so they can build on it.
AREWA has gone crazy. The well made plans are no more. They are led by un-educated Generals who couped into Presidency. They cannot even talk tough nor talk coup because they will be invited by the son of ODUDUWA for serious questioning. And might even be probed and Bank accounts frozen. ALLAH AKUBAH!!
The sons of ODUDUWA that pretended to be Muslims are now going back to Christianity in droves and to the god in Ife and Oshun.
The ODUDUWAS are now back into the South. Looking towards EAST and South South. The Great Grand son of ODUDUWA has been seen hanging out with one IGBO Presidential wannabe. This IGBO man said that this Great Grand son of ODUDUWA is different. He is not like his people. He said that Even though he had fights with his father. He is not like his father. This son is different. I will not disown him. Snake deals is not in his blood. He lives in America.
WHO IS THE CAT and WHO IS THE MOUSE? Who Knows what snake oil is the next bottle.
The ODUDUWAS are good. They know how to knock heads together. Let us keep watching. This is cheese in human form.
This is how I see it.
Nwadike.

Amadi my dear brother, this is really funny, where in the world do you get these mind sweetening pieces? Things are very bad. Those so called tough Governors, then backed by guns are now left with finger pointing.” Finger pointing indeed, the wimpy way out of a jam anything else will be doom for them. You bet I’m gonna forward it to as many. The entire piece from Ace thru Zinc is FANTASTIC!! No doubt our Yoroba neighbors are having a gig and I don’t for one second blame them. It's good to know that some Igbo greats like Mz Nwadike can drill down on the quintessential yoroba character - cowardly, cunnying, tricky, treacherous - to present for all to see what is obvious to any who studies the yoroba. We thank them for that.
You can imagine the belly laughs and pomposity of the sons of Oduduwa as they thumb up for bobo-yi in aso rock.

Why Corruption Thrives in Nigeria - Na'abba This Day (Lagos) February 6, 2006 Posted to the web February 6, 2006 Daniel Ior Makurdi
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na'abba, at the weekend said corruption remained endemic in Nigeria because of pervasive poverty and the insincerity of the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
The former speaker, who said this in Makurdi in an exclusive interview with THISDAY, also faulted the activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), contending that by the law establishing the commission, the EFCC was meant to fight 419 and money laundering.
"It was never intended to be an institution to fight corruption in public places. That duty is for ICPC," he said.
Besides, he said, it would be impossible to fight corruption if the underlining factors that predisposed people to graft were not tackled, adding that the living conditions of Nigerians had become so difficult and unbearable that a lot of Nigerians thought that unless they engaged in corrupt practices, they could not make ends meet.
"Nobody wants to be accused of being corrupt; people are forced to be corrupt, Na'Abba said." He, therefore said the entire so-called anti-corruption war is unfair and unjust.
The former speaker also expressed his regrets for not leading the first House of Representatives of the Fourth Republic to impeach President Olusegun Obasanjo saying the consequence of the indiscretion is the sufferings Nigerians are going through today.
While accusing Obasanjo's administration of plagiarising the reform programme he initiated without acknowledging or giving him (Na'Abba) credit for the initiative, he asked the President to apologise for lifting without permission his reform programme presented in 20 bills to the House in 2000.
Na'abba, however, attributed the failure of the impeachment process started by the House to the inability of Nigerians including the press to understand the threat Obasanjo's dictatorial tendencies posed to democracy and good governance in the country.
Citing the common argument that the impeachment was overheating the polity, Na'abba said the prevailing political tension and other acts of misrule, including witch-hunting of perceived enemies in the administration had vindicated his colleagues and him.
He drew a parallel between the current situation in the country and the reign of Adolph Hitler in Germany, warning that unless Nigerians acted positively, Obasanjo might plunge the country into war just like Hitler precipitated a World War due to the indiscretion of the West.
The former speaker also expressed concern that the current National Assembly, particularly the lower chamber, had not passed the 20 bills initiated under the code name "Contract with Nigeria," but renamed "House Vision Bills," which he said would have turned the country around.
He explained that because of this development the President decided on a piecemeal adoption of the various items of the reform package, which he said included almost all sectors of life, from economy, transport, railways to defence.
Na'Abba lamented that if the bills had been passed into law as a working document for the executive, Obasanjo would not have been able to continue to claim authorship of a programme he allegedly never thought about.

Dariye: How We Shared N1.6bn Loot Says money went into 2003 presidential campaign From Ahamefula Ogbu in Jos, 02.08.2006
Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau State yesterday opened a can of worms, revealing how a N1.6 billion Ecological Fund meant for the state was, on the directive of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), spent on the 2003 campaign of President Olusegun Obasanjo. Dariye who has been under fire from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged misappropriation of the fund told the Plateau Consultative Assem-bly, a political group in the state, which visited him at the Government House in Jos that he had to use the money to settle the presidential campaign expenses because the party’s national secretariat did not release any fund to the state PDP for the election. Giving the breakdown, the governor said the beneficiaries of the fund included the Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu, who, he alleged, got N10 million; the PDP South-west (N100million); PDP South (N100 million) and Plateau State (N800 million). He said an unnamed ministry in the state was given N10 million out of the fund channeled to the state, explaining to his guests that the balance of N76 million was used to fund the party in the state. According to Dariye, it was from the largesse given to the state branch of the party that Mantu allegedly got N10 million, adding that the balance of it was distributed to the 209 wards at N280, 000 each. Saying he was ready to cooperate with all investigating agencies, the governor told his guests who were dumbfounded by the revelations that he would disclose more damming information to the State House of Assembly Committee probing him. The governor said it was unfortunate that the party’s national leadership that knew the truth about the disbursement of the fund for political purposes decided to play to the gallery and vilify him for a decision that was taken with their consent. Hear Dariye, “I confronted Mantu at Makurdi when we went for a meeting and told him to get ready to refund the money he was given from the ecological fund since it has been placed in the public domain. I do not know what he did with the money he was given but I have accounted for how I disbursed the rest. “Fidelis Tapgun was the Campaign Director of the Obasanjo Campaign in the state, let him come and say that he gave me a kobo for the campaigns.” Speaking in Hausa interspersed with English Language, he said he regretted the operations of the EFCC in the state and warned that he would no longer retreat but stand and fight them. “Enough is enough for EFCC. I cannot allow a repeat of the way they harassed the wife of the Speaker who is pregnant. They traumatized her and even overturned their mattresses. That will be the last time EFCC will harass the state that way. I will never run away,” he said angrily. The angry governor spoke further, “I am from Mushere and we eat dogs, my brothers from Pankshin eat dogs also, likewise Anaguta and Berom; if these dogs come from Abuja again, we will eat them. “This is a trying moment for me and the state. A state of emergency was imposed on the state, I was expelled from the PDP and now all these harassments. If the PDP does not revisit the state congress and restore Alhaji Habu Shindai as State Chairman, there are many parties in the country now but I ask the people to remain calm for now and see what they will do.” Also speaking at during the visit, leaders of the party in the state, including Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, Mrs. Hannatu Chollom and Chief Simon Gwar took turns to warn that the people would not watch while the Federal Government continued to harass Dariye. “While we do not condone corruption and bad governance, we decry the use of arbitrariness in the conduct of state affairs,” Chollom said. As the Plateau leaders left Dariye in high spirits, more support came for him from another group called The Highlanders from Plateau North Senatorial Zone which held a rally in Jos. Carpeting the Federal Government for turning the EFCC into a monster it uses against opponents of President Obasanjo’s third term project, decried the freezing of the accounts of the state and asked the state House of Assembly not to give in to any pressure to remove the governor from office. It also urged the House all available means open to it to resist arbitrariness, pointing out that the intention of the EFCC was to incite the workers against the government which would further undermine the development of the state. “The economic crunch which bad leadership has plunged the nation is still biting; now imagine the Federal Government halting the financial flow of a state in a so- called Federation by freezing its accounts unilaterally. This is very unfortunate as the federal government imposes slavery on its rightful citizens,” Dr. Jonah Madugu, a political activist who addressed the rally, said. “The unfortunate issue of freezing of Plateau State’s (a federating unit of the federation) statutory allocation and operating accounts, is enough incitement on the innocent Plateau people who depend on such accounts for salaries, provision of drugs and healthcare delivery, educational pursuits, infrastructural developments, water treatment facilities and other vital social responsibilities,” another participant, Mr. Clement James said.
