I do not believe that much that Richard Cheney does happens by accident. So, when I read that Dick Cheney "accidently" shot Mr. Harry Wittington with a handgun when both men were out hunting quail, I was reminded of the carefully planted anthrax poisons of 2001 and 2002, the leaks of classified secrets both said to have been plotted by Dick Cheney. Why would Cheney point and shoot his gun at a hunting colleague? Only time will tell. For now, the story is that it was an "accident."

I think those of you close to Cheney should advise the idle gentleman to choose a sport where his colour blindness and general eye defect will not be such a costly handicap.
I can't for the life of me understand how Orange vest clad victim could be mistaken for the variety of Quail found in Texas. The case should also be made for the withdrawal of Mr Cheney's automobile driving license. It is impossible for Mr Cheney to meet the minimum requirement of ability to read plate number at more than 20-and-a-half metres(EU) if he can't see a human being in orange vest or a quail at about 27 meters(30 yards). My two pence!!

Ok, a few questions:
1) Where was Harry Whittington before he got shot? Sneaking up BEHIND Cheney, or in Cheney's line of fire?
2) Judging from the picture above, Cheney was clearly shooting at a bird in the air, right? Where was Harry? Was he flying with the quails ( i.e judging from the upward elevation of the gun)?
LOL, I can certainly imagine Bush doubling over in laughter upon hearing this incident. What business does an energy mogul who grew up in Casper, Wyoming have shooting quails in Texas? If Dick wanted some quail, he shoulda remembered his heart condition, and perhaps, asked Bush to help him shoot some. He is the cowboy here, isn't he?

Why did it take 18-hours to release the news that the Vice President shot and wounded someone, and why was it a private citizen, the ranch owner, that made the disclosure, only after she was told what to say by the Vice President?

In Texas, there were 30 accidents and two hunting deaths last year, according to the state Parks and Wildlife Department. National figures kept by the International Hunter Education Association show 744 shooting accidents, with 74 deaths, in 2002, the last year for which figures were available. Part of the reason for the cover-up by the White House and the Vice President's officve was that Dick Cheney was shooting without license. Cheney failed to obtain a required $7 license stamp. For that, he was orally reprimanded by the Sheriff in Corpus Christi, Texas.
I am not a lawyer. But, when a person causes harm to another while breaking the law, as Dick Cheney did, that person should at least be charged with a misdemeanor.
One thing for sure, I will never go hunting with a man like Cheney.

You're wrong!!! Here's how it happened: Cheney thought the man was an Al-Quaida suspect, and opened full fire with his semi-automatic self reloading hunting rifle. This from credible sources.
Sources also confirm that Cheyney who had a bandana tied round his head offloaded at least twenty five rounds (of thousand pellet buckshots) rambo-style before asking questions.

We now know that alcohol was involved in the shooting of Harry Wittington. Dick Cheney is known to be a heavy boozer. Today, Cheney admitted to Brit Hume of Fox News that he drank beer the afternoon of the shooting, even though he claims it was five-hours before the shooting. I don't believe him. I think Cheney was probabbly drunk when the shooting happened. That was why he ran away and did not want to talk to the press until he sobered up twenty-four hours later.
