Ok, it was five men and two passersby. What a shame! When we read that Mobolaji Aluko was organizing a march on Washington to protest the third term bid during the visit of Obasanjo, we thought it was going to be a well attended protest march. Chief tabloid journalist of the Naija Diaspora, Laolu Akande orchestrated the publicity for the rally.

Alas! There were not even enough people at the Aluko "rally" to fill a park bench near the White House.
Now, people at the BNW blogs are asking why? What went wrong? Or was that another trick by Yoruba people in Diaspora to suggest that opposition to Obasanjo's 3rd term bid is weak?

Thank God:

Thank God that there were no "Olopas" in site. Never you tell a yoruba man or yoruba woman that "Olopa mbo" meaning police is coming.

What I should have liked to see is a picture or a video of these guys that seemed very frightened running at the site of "olopa."

Anyway, on more serious note, however few they were, methink that, at least, they have tried in their own small way.

This few have atleast match their words with action.- kudos. shame to Cowards especially misguids here in BNW who only show of bravado is hidding in internet and typing hot words with fake name (handles), but when implementation comes, they will be missing in action!- i must add that from my observation lately igbos in diaspora are the worst effected.- they display the most Cowardice!!.
watching the Ijaws in diaspora recently protesting in downing street in great numbers with some threatening to go on Hunger strike over the freedom of Niger Deltans,.. i said wao!, are there not more igbos in London than Ijaws?.. yet nothing of such comes from them.
what saro wiwa with handefull of ogonis in diaspora did in international Arena in just 2 years!, millions of igbos in diaspora could not even achieve 5 percent of it for massobians in 7 , 14 , even 30 years!- this is a monumental shame!

It does put the Million Man March on Washington in perspective. Doesn't it?
