We need all those people who rejoiced after Ngige left for Peter Obi to explain his latest outburst. I had previously warned that Peter Obi is not the worse than Ngige yet the "he was a war veteran" brigade would not see sense. This is not the first time this man would show his true colours yet some of us prefered to wallow in short sightedness.

Ngige stole a mandate, so what? At the end of the day, he was able to provide as good a governance as was possible under the situation he found himself, no thanks to the Uba's and OBJ. By the time he left the government house, Anambra people were grateful to the breath of fresh air he provided.

In comes Peter Obi,(who by the way accepted the same conditions Ngige had rejected, the conditions which got Ngige into trouble)his first actions were to invite OBJ's goons to kill Umuigbo.

I would really love those who insisted in burying their heads in the sand on this issue to try to rationalise this.

Anambra Crisis: Obi Calls For Deployment Of Troops
18th June
By Okey Maduforo,CORRESPONDENT, Awka

Following the killing of no fewer than six people in a clash alleged to be between the Anambra police command and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), the Anambra State governor, Dr. Peter Obi, has called on the federal government to deploy soldiers to the state to restore peace in Onitsha.

Similarly, the state government has banned four groups in the state from operating.

The groups are the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Anambra Vigilance Service (AVS) and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

In a radio and television broadcast in the state on Saturday, the governor declared that "in line with this government's commitment to lasting peace in our dear state, I promptly notified the president and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on the development in Onitsha. I equally briefed the Inspector-General of Police and I am pleased to report that the Commander-in-Chief, who is currently out of the country, promised to address the problem the moment he is back in Nigeria.

"We are appealing to the federal government, unless they want all of us in Anambra State to die, because we would be pushed into doing things we personally wouldn't want to do. But I think the federal government can handle it. I was very specific that the army should be invited and we are privileged that we have a military cantonment and this is happening in Onitsha. We have the army people in Onitsha. I keep saying it, that we are law-abiding; and that is why we insist that the federal government should do something about it. I am sure that what we are asking them to do is what the police and all other security agents operating in the state are requesting," he said.

Speaking on the activities of the groups in Onitsha, Obi said that it had become imperative that the four rival groups must have to go in order to restore peace in Anambra State.

"Everybody has his own gang and if this is a gang representing Mr. "Y" this other gang is representing Mr. "B". But what we are saying now is that we want every body to go. We are not taking sides with any gang. That is why we want all of them to leave the state. We now want every gang to go. We now want to change the state for the better. We cannot be in a state where we now have all sorts of miscreants who are contributing little or nothing and they are leading all the confusion. We want to stop the confusion now, so we can start building a better society," he said.

Reacting to questions on the law by the Anambra State House of Assembly banning the NARTO from operating in the state, Obi expressed unhappiness over the development, saying, "That was a question that has been agitating people's mind. How can you be in a state and make a law proscribing a particular organisation and yet that organisation is still operating? All of you are Igbo in this part of the country, and that was why I said this problem can only be solved by the federal government."

He however urged peace-loving people of Anambra State to remain calm and peaceful, even in the face of deliberate aggression and provocation.

He also pleaded with the miscreants, who he said are mostly Ndigbo, to desist from actions aimed at inflicting pain on their kith and kin.

Meanwhile, commuters and people travelling through Asaba- Onitsha and Owerri road are still facing sustained harassment from miscreants who collect N500 from motorists and about N800 from passers-bye in order to allow them pass.

Also at the upper Iweka and most junctions in Onitsha, peace and apprehension coexist, as intermittently unsuspecting members of the public are attacked and robbed in daylight.

Shop owners have refused to attend to customers for fear of looting and attack by hoodlums. Police presence is non-existence in most junctions in Onitsha, while some apprehensive members of the public are beginning to seek refuge at the military barracks in Onitsha.

It seems to me Mr Obi is too obtuse to understand that MASSOB does NOT require his approval to exist and operate. It is the height of idiocy to announce on a radio that you have "banned" MASSOB.

If Mr Obi is calling for a state of emergency in Anambara state he should also be willing to step aside and allow the military to direct affairs from Awka since they cann't take orders from him.

By this pertulent knee-jerk radio broadcast Obi has shown he lacks the marturity to build concensus and lead any Igbo state.

Speaking for self being one of the folks so written who remained against election robbery/rigging by anyone, I doubt if any support is given to Peter Obi on any other basis than the return of his stolen mandate which should not immune him from criticism. If the young man is today acting against the interest of Ndiigbo, nothing short of direct denouncement of such actions will satisfy so I’m not sure how this could be misrepresented. Any who supports ngige’s electoral robbery gives full assention to election rigging anywhere and by anyone. Let it be known to all that I am troubled by the new trend by some useless governors in Igbo states to beg to have their states overrun by poorly trained undisciplined awusa soldier boys. I’m against it! I can’t remember reading where despite all the raucous occurrences in Yoroba or Tiv lands, a willing invitation to the awusa militia into their territory was given by their governors, so what’s gone wrong with this obi guy! My support for obi was never UNCONDITIONAL. I never said no matter how he treats the people of Anambra, I’ll be there blindly making excuses for him, no way. This little explanation should put to rest any question or doubt about where my loyalty is, always with the people and not individual governors or poorliticians. Obi exercised poor judgment. Obi is wrong to have let common sense elude him. obi needs to ask Ndiigbo for forgiveness soon with a retraction or be ready to have his name added to the list. BTW: Where is Mazi Chuks Iluegbunam, I thought part of the reason for bringing him onboard was to inject matured wisdom into this youngie’s administration?

Who said it was going to be easy fot Peter Obi, anyway? Well another episode of chaos has just begun in Anambra, and you guys ain't seen nothing yet.

HOODLUMS FREE 250 PRISON INMATES

quote:
AWKA — THE bloody crisis rocking the commercial city of Onitsha escalated Sunday night after suspected miscreants stormed the Onitsha prisons and set about 240 inmates free. Governor Peter Obi who, weekend, banned the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), NARTO and Anambra Vigilante Service (AVS) told the police to explore the option of shooting hoodlums on sight if they (hoodlums) refused to allow peace to return.
The governor also imposed a one-week curfew on Onitsha between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

It was gathered that the miscreants forced their way into the prison yard at about 2 a.m., burnt the gate, and the office block before setting the inmates free.
This is the second time in six months that Onitsha prisons has been burnt and prisoners set free. More than 700 prisoners were set free in February during the cartoon reprisal riots in the commercial town. An Assistant Comptroller of Prisons confirmed the incident, but declined to give details.

Four of the inmates have since returned to the prison. One of them, Bright Chukwujekwu, said the hoodlums came at about 2.10 a.m., shooting indiscriminately into the air. “When they approached the gate of the prisons, nine hoodlums, and armed with locally-made pistols, pump action gun, machetes, axes and other dangerous weapons, ordered the prison officials to open the gate," he said.

They dealt machete cuts on the prisons officials, who they believed were not co-operating and were in possession of keys to the cells. They went to the cells, broke them open with axes and machetes and marched the prisoners to Akpaka forest reserve, their base. Early on Monday morning, they conveyed the inmates on motor bikes to an unidentified place in Onitsha town,” Chukwujekwu said.

Obi insists MASSOB must quit

Meanwhile, Governor Peter Obi, receiving the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of operations, Mr. Mike Okiro, maintained that MASSOB, NARTO and Anambra Vigilante Service (AVS) were not wanted in the state.
Okiro described the crisis as “very worrisome.” He warned that there must be peace as the police would not spare anybody.

Governor Obi said: “I have said it every day, all of us know what the problem is and those behind it. This problem is easy and can easily be solved. All we want is let every group leave Onitsha, and by that, I mean MASSOB, NARTO, AVS, whosoever. So, what the police should do is to direct that everybody leaves and any of them who does not leave shoot on sight. They must leave: that is all.

“The police know what to do. I'm saying they know the problem. As the chief security officer of the state, I'm saying we do not want these people again and they are our problem. We don’t want these people. They are causing problems for us. Some people are behind them and these people represent nothing that is good for the people of Anambra State. I am not giving them order, they know what to do. This is the problem.

“And we are saying they should leave the state and all of you if you mean well for this state should be in the same fight that MASSOB and NARTO leave and expose those behind them because some people are behind them. These people represent nothing good to the people. All they represent is evil.”

DIG Okiro who was at Government House, Awka to be briefed by the governor said government would not allow hoodlums to take over Onitsha because of its commercial importance to Nigeria.

Asked why the police still guard NARTO office and have not arrested any member of NARTO, even after NARTO has been outlawed by the state government, Okiro said he could not confirm who had been arrested so far until he was properly briefed. He said anybody who went against the law must be arrested “no matter where he comes from.

“If any group has been proscribed, it remains so and the police will not support illegality. It is our duty to make sure that law is enforced. Any group that is proscribed, until there is reversal, it remains proscribed.

“The situation is worrisome to everybody. That is why I am here. That is why I am here to study the situation and come out with a specific strategy to stop it,” Okiro said.

I hope this Gov obi is not turning out to be a simpleton, trying to simplify our problems by blaming it on MASSOB and NARTO.
By the way, why equate MASSOB and NARTO and AVS?
It simply goes to show that he who pays the piper dictates the tune to be played.
By giving explicit shoot to kill order to the police (police which he knows that even without such order they will kill many innocent Anambrarians), by giving such order he seems to be playing to the tune of various fedral anti-Igbo coallition.
This is all the excuse, invitation and encouragement the awusa police and military need to waste more innocent Igbo Souls again, albeit this time in the homeland, while most of the so called "hoodlums" will probably go scot free.
Why equate NARTO a group of motor park touts with a "gagwo" Chris Uba as their oga with MASSOB with the honourable Chief Uwazurike as leader, a martyr fighting for peacefull and unarmed Biafran realisation, now in fedral gulag?
This move of portaying MASSOB as a group of motorpark touts, the likes of NARTO I fear will serve to further undermine the entraped Chief Uwazurikes position thus furhter playing into the hands of anti-Igbo coallitions.
Na wa O!
I am not in support of anarchy, but there are other ways than telling Nigerian police to shoot and kill as they like to solve problems like this.
If Gov Obi is serious for the war then he should go for the tap root of the problem namely chris uba the godfather of narto and others leaders and fermentors which he and everybody know, and leave Anambrarians out of it. He should be very specific.

The actual reports is that........

quote:
some suspected members of the National Road Transport Workers Organisation(NARTO) who are staking claims to motor parks and using their alleged membership of MASSOB to instil fear in their opponents
Mike Okiro (DIG) says...

quote:
"If it (NARTO) is proscribed by law, it remains so, and police does not support any illegality and it is our objective to make sure that law and order prevails"
Chief Frank Authory Igboka, the Deputy Chairman of Police Affairs Committee of the State Assembly...says

quote:
"MASSOB was not involved, but the NARTO members who were contending for control of motor parks in the city/state".
There is quite a lot of meandering just to squeeze out this truth...but it is out nevertheless.

MASSOB is a peaceful organization determined to bring the Nation of Biafra into existence no matter what.

This Peter guy might be a replacement for Chris Uba by Obj……..

It is only beginning to dawn on some of you that Obi is compromised. Anambra took one step back with the removal of Ngige, because Obi is the product of an illegal deal struck between the Umeh/Ikemba faction of APGA and Obasanjo. Did you hear him or his faction speak up against third term? Rather he stated his mission to be to make friend with Obasanjo, I guess that should include ridding Onitsha of MASSOB even when he knows the truth about the fracas. If you ask me, I think APGA is history. Ndigbo should do a thoroughly analysis of how that platform was destroyed.

I am glad the Anambra house does not agree with Obi

-------------------------------------------------
...Gov Obi orders shoot on sight

ALPHONSUS NWEZE, Onitsha and ODOGWU EMEKA ODOGWU, Awka

PEEVED by continued threat to lives and property in Onitsha, Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi yesterday directed security operatives to shoot on sight hoodlums caught perpetrating violence in the city.

Mr. Obi had on Sunday imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the commercial hub of the South East zone as part of measures to contain activities of suspected members of Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

Said he: "This problem is easy and can be solved easily. All we want is let every group

leave Onitsha. And by that I mean, MASSOB, National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and Anambra Vigilance Services (AVS) whoever. So what they (police, army) should do is to direct that everybody leave and also if any of them does not leave shoot on sight. They must leave. That’s all’’ he insisted.

Speaking shortly after a security meeting with all security chiefs, including Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations, Mr. Mike Okiro and other agencies in the state, Governor Obi said that MASSOB and NARTO represent nothing but evil and derive joy in causing problem in Anambra State and therefore should be dealth with ruthlessly for bringing bad image to Onitsha and causing business flight.

But the Anambra State House of Assembly yesterday absolved MASSOB of the allegation of masterminding the crisis in Onitsha.

Deputy chairman Police Affairs and member security committee in the state House of Assembly Hon. Frank Anthony Igboka who spoke shortly after the joint meeting decried the sufferings of the masses ,unsuspecting visitors, and traders at Onitsha and identified the root of the crises as control of motor parks in Onitsha and the state at large which members of MASSOB resisted that NARTO should not control.

‘’You see when you talk about MASSOB, I don’t believe MASSOB is the problem, I believe it is the issue of NARTO and so on. And issue of NARTO taking over the parks and MASSOB saying they should not take over the parks and this thing is escalating and turning into different directions and the poor masses are suffering."

On his part, Mr Mike Okiro has vowed to restore peace in Anambra State before long as nothing can be done in an environment of rancour and acrimony especially Onitsha which is the commercial hub of West Africa. He warned that NARTO should remain outlawed as ordered by the state government.

According to him, "Anambra state is such a place that needs peace for progress to go ahead. Without peace we can’t do anything. Onitsha is such a place that is known to be of commercial importance to Nigeria so we won’t allow it to happen any longer. If an outfit is proscribed by law it remains so. And the police do not support illegality. It is our duty to make sure that law and order prevail. It is our duty to ensure that law is enforced. So, any group that is proscribed until there is reversal it remains proscribed".

Meanwhile, Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) has said that unless the market trade unions is re-organized, the problem in Onitsha will continue since only traders have the solution to the crisis.

Its Vice President, Mr. Vin Obi who said this in Awka described the crisis as unfortunate attributing it to absence of market leaders. He said traders who are neither members of MASSOB nor NARTO are the greatest victims of the crisis. He pledged their loyalty and support to Governor Obi but demanded that he re-organized and re-engineer the market leadership.

Speaking Objectively....

Why hasn't anyone said anything against the main instigators to the unrest in Onitsha? Why is the police turning a blind eye to people bullying others for money? Freeing prisoners?

We ask for a free Biafra, if we can't even maintain peace in our own land. We are only as great as the weakest link... and it seems there are many of them.

I wish every Igbo would ask themselves...Are my actions benefiting Biafra ? If not please do right by your people. That goes for Mr. OBI calling NIGERIAN military to solve our problems and that goes for NARTO, whose unrully behavior causing chaos in the streets.

p.s
I hope Mr. Obi retracts his statements about the MASSOB...they are the hope of Biafra. I hope they disassociate themselves from those that would cause unrest in Onitshia.

I think the picture is getting clearer, Obi's new disposition is coming to the open as the days go by. He carefully avoided the Owerri meeting were Irukwu was humiliated but was prominent in the Abuja Ohaneze faction were Ngozi was toasted even after obvious disgrace. If you ask me, I think Anambra is back in the hands of Abuja.

: We need integrity to sustain growth

lauds Okonjo-Iweala

JAYNE UCHE UKONNE, Aba

PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo at the weekend stated that the collective aspirations of Nigerians for accelerated development can only be achieved through enthronement of a positive value system.

This came as President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Apex Igbo Socio-Cultural organization, Prof. Joe Irukwu, said the outstanding performance of Igbo sons and daughters in government is a clear testimony that if any Igbo man is elected president, he will perform very well.

They spoke at a civic reception at the weekend in honour of Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at Ohuhu, Umuahia, Abia State.

President Obasanjo who was speaking at Ohuhu, Umuahia North, Abia State, through his representative, Governor Sam Egwu of Ebonyi State said no nation can lay claim to sustainable growth where integrity is in short supply.

He called on Nigerians to celebrate virtue and also condemn vice, just as he urged them to always define success on the basis of means of attaining it.

President Obasanjo, said, these are the reasons his administration since inception has insisted that things must be done properly.

He explained," our economic and political reforms have been driven by the certitude that our nation can attain the height which God has ordained for it if we can only apply ourselves to the demands of ethical behaviours.

"I make bold to say that these reform initiatives have met with signal success and that Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been integral part of that success story.

"As the Minister of Finance, until only a few days ago, Ngozi has remained a strategic member of the economic team of this administration and her achievements in that office are sterling and inspiring," he added.

"Her profile of performance as an economic manager and resource administrator is persuasively underscored by the fact that in spite of her redeployment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she retains her position as the head and anchor-person of the economic management team of this administration.

"Of course, I expect, and I believe that other Nigerians also expect, that Ngozi will even excel her performance as Finance Minister in her new role as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"That is why I am happy with the people of Ohuhu community for honouring this worthy, woman of our great nation," he said.

President Obasanjo also, urged the people of Ohuhu and Abia State, who are holding various offices of assignment for community and country to emulate the "can do" attitude of Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala and to remain steadfast in it so that others will look upon them for direction.

Professor Irukwu appealed to Ndigbo to unite and salvage the country.

He called for unity and reconciliation among Ndigbo and emphasized the principle of live and let live, which is a cardinal point of Ohanaeze, saying it is the only thing that will consolidate peace in the country.

Professor Irukwu, who was chairman of the occasion, also eulogized Okonjo-Iweala’s brilliance and outstanding qualities.

He said, "wherever I am, I tell people how Ndigbo in President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration have worked to see that things go right in the country.

"Ngozi is a source of pride to Ndigbo in particular and Nigeria in general.

"We are here to celebrate excellence and I thank President Obasanjo for giving such Igbo sons and daughters the opportunity to showcase the stuff they are made of."

The host, who is also a Senior Special Adviser to the President, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, while thanking President Obasanjo for making the ceremony inevitable through the appointment of Mrs. Okonjo Iweala as Minister, said celebration of achievements of the minister have been acknowledged in Nigeria and outside the country.

He noted that Dr. Okonjo-Iweala as Minister of Finance, was the head of the economic management team of President Obasanjo and pivotal to the success of the reform programme.

"We, in Ohuhu, Umuahia, are proud of the outstanding achievements of our golden wife, Ngozi.

"She extends for us, a tradition of selfless and distinguished service, which was first brought to national attention, by the inimitable Dr. Michael I. Okpara," he said.

While thanking those who made the event memorable, especially Governor of Anambra and Ebonyi states, Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Sam Egwu, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili Minister of Education, El Rufai, FCT Minister, Mrs. Nenadi Usman, Mrs. Irene Chigbue, Director General of BPE, Sir Victor Umeh of APGA and Professor Ikem Iweala, among others. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala said she appreciated the honour done her by the community which she said has taken her as a daughter.

She urged Ohuhu people not to relent in their self help efforts which they are known for, pointing out that she will always support such effort.

FG Plots To Crack Down On ACD Leaders In Anambra-Anekwe
26th June
By Chuks Ehirim,ASSISTANT EDITOR, Abuja
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Agunwa Anekwe, has alerted the nation over plots to use members of the security agencies to arrest leaders of the Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD).

Anakwe who is the state Coordinator of ACD told Daily Independent that leading figures in ACD including himself are already on the wanted list of the security agents on trumped up allegations that they are members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). He said they might be arrested and put out of circulation any moment from now.

"We have very reliable information that forces of retrogression, the same tendency that has kept Anambra down, has not given up. They listed top leaders of ACD, with my name topping the list, who would soon be picked up on trumped up charges of supporting MASSOB", said Anekwe.

It could be recalled that the leader of ACD in Aguata local government of the state, Chris Ngige, Chief Timothy Egboka, was arrested on the same allegation close to two months ago.

Egboka who hails from the same local government with self styled god father of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Ubah, has remained in police detention camp till date.

Anekwe described the latest move to arrest him and other ACD leaders on the same allegation, as "a real danger to the 2007 general election in the state".

He said that "a situation where the police would allow themselves to be used in this manner, by an individual, should be condemned by all men of goodwill".

He denied having any link with MASSOB, stating that "I know nothing about MASSOB. I have no friend who is a member. I don't know anybody who is a member of MASSOB".

He added that, "at my own level, I am more concerned about the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria than any thing ethnic, religious or sectional".

He vowed to pursue Igbo interest to the very best of his ability, within the contest of fair, just and equitable Nigerian environment and based on the rules of law and respect for the constitution of the country.

Onitsha: 2 MASSOB Members Killed , 69 Arrested

Two members of the Movement for the Actualisationof the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) were said to have been kiled yesterday by a combined team of Police and the Military Personel currently patroling the troubled commercial city of Anambra state,Onitsha...

There’s no other place to put the bloods of these gallant sons than on peter obi’s domain. This little man called obi will have to when the time comes answer to his late activities since the deaths of these innocent sons was a direct result of his stupid invite for the awusa to have a free murdering reign in his state. None of the yoroba governors or middle belt governors asked these killing machines to invade their cities during their own menstrual broil. Still obi gambled the lives of his fellow Biafrans just to be seen as one of uba boys? Nke ya agwula!

peter obi’s appetite for Igbo blood I hope is being satisfied. And to MASSOB, about time the people leading these young men to early death realize that the non-violence crap is not cutting it!!!! How many times will I tell people that this policy only works in countries with decent men at the top? Not the illiterate awusa, yoroba and now Igbo efulefu shoot to kill orders on innocent and harmless demonstrators.

I'm sick to my stomach, seeing these pictures, alaigbo has become slaughter for her people. The one that worries me most, this crime is being perpetuate by one of our own. It's seems, it is time for MR UWAZURUKE to step aside i respect him yes, he might be our MOSES but it is time for us to look for our own JOSHUA OR DAVID. Massob got to have a militant leader this is no longer a childs play. IGBOS IN DIASPORA IT IS TIME TO ACT WE DON'T NEED TO MANY GOOD WRITE- UPS OUR PEOPLE ARE BEING KILLED LIKE CHICKEN AND NO BODY IS DEFENDING THESE UN-ARMED INNOCENT CIVILIANS FOR GOD SAKE. Peter Obi and his entire family ought to be wiped out we don't need that family in our midst. MASSOB SINGING HOSSANNA AND WE SHALL OVER COME IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THATS WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IT DOESN'T WORK CHANGE DIRECTION FOR THE GENERATION SAKE. Any government or country that kills her innocent civilians needs not to be obeyed --- this is a declaration of war that means any government uniformed officials and executives ought to be targeted for elimination and some of the igbo elites collaborators. UMUIGBO MAY BE IT IS TIME TO KNOCK OUT THE WHOLE CHURCHES IN ALAIGBO AND GO THE WAY OF OUR FORE FATHERS THE BRAVE MEN THAT CHERISHED FREEDOM AND RESPECT AND DIDN'T ALLOW A SINGLE JIHADIST TO STEP INTO ALAIGBO. SHEDDING OF IGBOS BLOOD HAS BECOME A HOBBY FOR WHO EVER IT PLEASES. IT IS TIME FOR US IN DIASPORA TO TAKE WAR TO THAT CONCENTRATION CAMP CALLED NIGERIA. LET ME BORROW FROM AN ANCIENT OATH OF LOYALTY-- MAY MY RIGHT HAND LOSE ITS CUNNING IF FORGET THEE, O BIAFRA

Chei!
So it has come to pass as I predicted? The more is the sorrow.
Igbo Souls are being led like lambs to the slaughter, and this now at home not only abroad.
O Biafra I yearn your coming.
Only when we will be able to determine our own destiny,
Only when we shall rule ourselves and stop being used only then shall we be able to weed out the rotten apples in our midst that cause so much suffering.
Only in BIAFRA.
See what Gov Peter Obi is doing to his brethren?
See those pictures?
Chei!...

The day the Anambra criminal, Peter Obi, was sworn in as governor, Ojukwu declared that day to be the happiest day of his life since his return from exile in Ivory Coast. Now, Ojukwu's god-son has Igbo blood on his hands. What has Ojukwu said about the slaughter of these Biafrans brought about by the man whose ascendancy was the happiest event in Ojukwu's life since 1982?

Ojukwu Blasts Obi on shoot-to-kill order

quote:
Ojukwu blasts Obi on shoot-to-kill order

From GREAT OSIBEROHA, Aguata

Saturday, July 1, 2006

The 2003 Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Chairman, Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu have faulted the order of the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi in the proscription of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

The APGA and ADC leaders spoke in separate interviews in Enugu and Awka yesterday and wondered how effective the Governor’s proscription order will be considering the fact that MASSOB is not registered to warrant being banned.

Ojukwu and Nwosu faulted the governor’s reported shoot-on-sight order to the joint Army/Police patrol team saying not only will the order be abused but those who will get killed are innocent Igbo people.

Describing the proscription order on MASSOB as ridiculous, Ojukwu stressed that the Movement as an unregistered organization has to exist officially before it can be proscribed.

He said that the order banning other organizations in the State does not affect the Movement, adding that the problems in the State cannot be divorced from the control, training and efficiency of the Nigerian Police.

“My views, people don’t like my views sometimes…my view is that the Governor of Anambra State has no justification calling in the military. I say this bearing in mind that he (Obi) like myself is an Igbo, a governor voted in by Ndigbo in Igboland. I don’t see how he could forget her antecedents that the real problem of Igbo people is the power of the federal government as exemplified by the military.

“What I’m saying is that no Igbo should call in the military not in this circumstance. I know how many years I have been in the military … and rose to the rank of a four-star General. I had at no occasion given an order to shoot-at-sight or shoot-to-kill. One should not forget one is dealing with one’s people. Do I say shoot-at-sight, but if you see my mother don’t shoot. That was a mistake, Ojukwu said.”

Anaedo;

You posted the above report boldly as if Ojukwu is a saint knowing he has in the past exchanged gun shot battles with his political opponents who were also Igbo.
