As the count of voters come in, the frist casualty is non other than Joe Lieberman or George Bush 2.

HARTFORD, Conn. - Sen. Joe Lieberman's campaign filed the petitions Wednesday morning for him to run for re-election as an independent, hours after he lost the Democratic primary to an anti-war businessman.
"I feel we began to get our message across strongly and we're going to keep on going," Lieberman told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "This race is going to be all about who can get more done and who can be a better representative of Connecticut."
Lieberman said his campaign has collected more than 18,000 signatures on its petitions, more than twice the number needed to get on the fall ballot as an independent.
Hours after losing Lieberman said Wednesday that he had to run as an independent for the good of the country and no one could persuade him to drop out.
"I'll always take the calls of friends, but my mind is made up," Lieberman told NBC's "Today" show Wednesday. "I'm going forward. I'm going forward because I'm fed up with all the partisanship in Washington that stops us from getting anything done."
Asked if there was anyone who could call and get him to change his mind, Lieberman replied:
"Respectfully no. I'm committed to this campaign."
Voters in Connecticut on Tuesday rejected Lieberman for political newcomer Ned Lamont in the nation's first major test of the depth of anger over the Iraq war. Lamont won with 52 percent of the vote, or 146,061 votes, to 48 percent for Lieberman, or 136,042, with 99 percent of precincts reporting.
A jubilant Lamont told supporters: "Tonight we voted for big change." The millionaire owner of a cable television company has held local political offices in Greenwich, Conn., but never at the state level. His campaign focused on Lieberman's support for the war in Iraq and his perceived closeness to President Bush.
Lieberman conceded the primary but, undaunted, said he would press on.
"For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand," Lieberman said.

It is the beginning of the end, and an ominous sign for my former party of things to come. Lieberman was a causality of his own stupidity. I am sure George Bush new neighbor in Crawford, Texas (Sheehan) is happy with the result, and am elated too.

Joe Lieberman the bore to me has always been a sneaky here now there tomorrow spoiler if not why would he file as in Independent after his humiliating defeat? This man had no sense to disassociate himself with the Iraqi war that was unjust in the face of both man and God and even when all the pointers show that, he still insists it was justified with GWB cheering him on. And now that the hen has come home to roast he still thinks in his confused mind he stand a chance as go-alone candidate, is he kidding us? My attention became focused on this spy the moment he refused to resign his Senate seat when the other dumb fella, Gore made the mistake of choosing him as his VP running mate during the 2000 presidential election which Bush Jr stole. I was like hey dude, if you don’t plan on loosing the election why are you holding on to that seat? Right there I knew he could not be trusted and today both he and the master race card player in Atlanta Cynthia are tossed to the winds and happily after we, the people, live. What a sweet riddance!

It's great that Lieberman got defeated, he usually reminds me about a quotation in the bible, it looks like hand of esau but resembles jacobs voice. He is nothing but a right wing confusionist in the dark. I was watching his conceding remarks he was bitter as if the senate seat was specially created for him. He can't do any other job except politics, becuase they have the best medical care when ever they required it, they can't get over it. Every time i turn around all i will be hearing is, he or she is a liberal or not strong on national security as if they republicans are don when it comes to national security. I wish the world would be the way i wanted it to be, when ever these world leaders declared and unjust war they and their family will be in the battle field with the soldiers, not opening their ugly mouth being strong on national security by sacrificing other people's kids. These politicians in washington don't even give credits and honour to whom is due, the field officers who don't sleep and keep twarting terrorist effort to strike and somebody at the cozy of his or her home is taking credit of other people's perfomance and sleepless nights what a mess. MeBiafran if you call Al Gore a dumb fella, nwanna i wonder what you will call the one we have as a president.

Joe Lieberman represented a strong libral constituent, perhaps a wrong state for wrong platform, Iraqi war; Mickenny in a right state, libral constituent for right platform but got booted for being a nuissiance, race card, not once but twice. But I will encourage Joe to run as an independent, that way, the Democrats will loose the seat. As for Cynthia, she can now join Jessie Jackson and Rev Al Sharpton, unemployed politician, never held a public office, protest marches and sing the songs of novelty,"We Shall Overcome". Has anyone ever wondered why Jessie and the famous Rev did not help that "sista" out?
Hail Biafra

The problem rightnow,is that Democrats don't have any solution to the present danger we all face in the hands of Islamic jihadist. Democrats need to put their house in order. They just lost a very decent man Joe Liberman. Since After Clinton era, the Democrats are in complete disarray.
