Umunne,

I hope this is true. This will mean God has decided to intervene in Imo state matters.

Everyone seems to be abandoning the chair to an Igbo party.

Imo: PDP, others pick Agbaso as consensus candidate
From Amby Uneze in Owerri, 04.12.2007
Thursday, April 12, 2007

Ahead of Saturday's governorship election, the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alliance for Democracy (AA) and others have resolved to pick the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Imo, Chief Martin Agbaso as a consensus candidate bearing in mind that PDP has no candidate for the position in the state.

It became apparent, Tuesday, when President Olusegun Obasanjo and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP announced the expulsion of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and the withdrawal of Engineer Charles Ugwuh from the governorship race in obedience to the Supreme Court ruling on the state that the party has no other governorship candidate in the state.

Following the action of the party, the state leadership of the party led by Governor Achike Udenwa last night met with the stakeholders at closed door where the decision to vote for Agbaso, even though an APGA candidate by all PDP supporters was taken.

Prior to the decision of PDP, the AA had earlier on collapsed all its structures to APGA since it does not have a governorship candidate, while other parties like part of the Labour Party had also followed suit.

THISDAY checks could authoritatively observe that Agbaso, whose personality had risen tremendously in the state since most religious groups, especially the Roman Catholic faithful had been seriously engaged in prayers for God to intervene in favour of Agbaso.

Reacting to the PDP position over APGA guber candidate, the National Vice Chairman of APGA, for the South East, Chief Simeon Udunka ascribed the action as a result of the massive prayers majority of the Imo people have been offering to God for a God-fearing man to rule the state in 2007.

He said, "what has come to happen today (sic) is that the prayers of the people has reached God. The problem of PDP may be as a result of the prayers or the order of the Igbo that no Igboman should vote any other party".

Martin Agbasoh from the "Emeka Offor" wing of APGA.
The man who did to APGA in Imo what Umeh did to APGA Anambra.

This idiot is just another PDP antiigbo individual in disguise!

Hi guys,

I just heard that INEC has cancelled the governorship election result in Imo state. I suppose they are now bent on installing a PDP idiot on our hapless Imo brothers
