Shambolic is not a word I use lightly but describing Obasanjo and Nigeria as such must be a huge insult to shambles. Eight long years wasted without any real structural or institutional change to show for it. A quite obviously inadequate psychopath has used these precious years to massage his ego and enrich himself beyond even his own wildest imagination. And to think that the likes of Ribadu and hopeless Maurice Iwu have been used to perpetuate this mediocrity makes it even more painful. Like him or not, his obviously corrupt instinct not withstanding, Atiku Abubakar has really thought Obasanjo a lesson in democracy. After the charade of elections last weekend, it must be a big relief to many that the supreme court has called Obasanjo's bluff. I don't expect him to give up so easily but Obasanjo surely realises he is fighting for a dishonourable cause. He is not going to win. If the courts continue to treat him and his Adedibu-Uba friends with the contempt they rightly deserve their fools' victories at the non existent polling booths won't be worth very much in a few weeks. The most viable option now is to suspend any more silly 'elections' until Obasanjo's term expires on May 29th. Then the more honourable senate president should take over for the sole purpose of organising credible elections. If he needs the army to keep Obasanjo, Adedibus, Ubas and their shameless hangers on at bay, so be it. If Lagosians can escort Thief Bode George and his armed police thugs out of Lagos INEC offices, why can't an empowered senate president do so to these PDP gangsters with the support of the army or the ethnic militias if necessary?

CSE, I feel the same way. This exercise is a total FAILURE. Yet again, this monkey lookalike has shown the world why he's never really bothered about how he is perceived in Igboland in particular, and elsewhere in Nigeria. He's always expected to "right the wrongs" by manipulating the people's wish as to who governs them. Now tell me why he will see it fit to release our brother Uwazuruike, when he knows all he needs to do is to manipulate the Igbo electoral wishes to suit him, thereby ruling out any consequences that he can suffer by that evil incarceration of our brother. Basically, what I'm saying is that he doesn't have to be accountable to us, for his actions. Something has to be done to stop this homosexual in his evil march.

Why do you have to inject your Uwanuzuke and Biafra into this?
Obasanjo is a criminal. It will be easier to dismantle him when people like you focus on his criminal electoral activities against Nigeria instead of all the worthless noise about Biafra.

We should all be glad that the elections so far have been relatively peaceful and that new administrations will come in next month with new ideas. I think you are wrong to call Obasanjo a criminal. We need to pray for this new group of men and women that will be intrusted with the leadership of our great nation.

Any attempt to usurp power by an individual or groups of individuals by rigging election, intimidation or any other means can be defined as criminal. The solution is to uphold the rule of law. A few more meaningless mumbles or prayers should not be part of that solution. The last time I checked, there were churches and mosques at every corner in that geographical space. The idea that a few more self pitying prayers will change much sounds bizarre. In any case God must be pretty fed up with lawless idiots asking for his mercy all the time.

Can you prove that the elections were rigged or that any form of intimidation took place during these elections? Yes, the rule of law was upheld and INEC announced those that got the most votes as winner according to the law of the land.

There is enough evidence for those who wish to see them. Obasanjo himself wasted his effort voting because election in his own ward was cancelled due to massive vote rigging.
As the slightly more honourable senate president pointed out elections did not take place in Enugu. Frank Nweke trying to defend the criminal behaviour of the government he serves couldn't even ensure his own father voted. I can understand Nweke needs to lie to himself to earn a living, Ednut what are you doing it for?

The entire election is nothing but a big sham. All the members of PDP are all criminals, with Obasanjo as the head of the criminals. As long as Nigerian's continue to support evil and rogues in power, the vicious circle will continue, unfortunately.

I don't know that we must need a television to see what was obvious. In Anambra state for instance, all the big wigs including their Owele, Okeke the Police big nut, Dora of NAFDAC and her husband, Ojukwu, and yes including a serving governor, Obi; all of whom did not vote as there was no election there and in most parts of the country. That of Imo state was cancelled on account the Ararume guy may have won. And to have anyone defend this stupidity tells me more about that individual than Obasanjo.

Agbaso of APGA was leading the pack in the Imo state governorship elections, which was probably why INEC chose to cancel it. Apparently, he has gone on hunger strike.
However for some reason the state assembly election in the same state has been upheld, in spite of the fact that both the governorship and assembly elections were held in the same venues. This is obviously coz PDP prospective assemblymen have been successfully written down as the winners of the various assembly vacancies.
That's yet another JUSTICE example, as practised by OBJ.

LOLOLOL Pse don’t start. Still laughing.
Now, the TV proof for the doubters that election did not hold in Anambra state and elsewhere in Igboland. Sigh.
quote:Nigeria: Elections Didn't Hold in Anambra - Peter Obi April 16, 2007 Vanguard
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State yesterday alleged that elections did not take place in Anambra and listed prominent people in the state who did not vote.
In a statement signed by him, the governor said "investigations and reports available to me amount to the same gloomy story of non-availability of INEC officials. In the few places INEC officials showed up, they had no voting materials and where they had, there were no result sheets."
His words: "In the South Senatorial Zone of my State, Dim Chukwuemeka
Odumegwu-Ojukwu was at his Polling Unit till 3:30pm but no voting took place. Chief Simon Okeke, the former Chairman of the Police Service Commission did not vote because elections did not take place in his ward. Chief Okeke, who even went personally to his Local Government Area Headquarters in search of INEC officials, said he met only the cleaner beside whom voting materials were packed.
Dr. Dozie Ikedife, the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and Chief Edwin Umezoke, the Vice Presidential candidate of ANPP could not vote because voting did not take place in their wards", adding that, "in the Central Zone, Sir Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of APGA and Chief Ben Obi, the Vice Presidential candidate of AC could not vote because voting did not take place in their wards".
"For the same reason, Mr. Ikem Odumodu, the Managing Director of May and Baker and Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye, the managing Director of Juhel Pharmaceutical Ltd could not vote.
At 2pm, I met Prof. Dora Akunyili and her husband, both of whom were still waiting for INEC officials and voting materials. I, the Governor of the State, could not vote despite being at my Polling Unit intermittently until 3pm".
Continuing, he said, "in the North Senatorial Zone, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe did not vote. In fact he sent out his aides who reported back to him that elections were not taking place in any part of Onitsha.
Dr. Tim Menakaya, a former Federal Minister of Health did not vote neither did the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Paul Odenigbo. Also, Igwe Nonso, the Chairman, Anambra West Traditional Council did not vote".
Also in the same vein, according to the statement, "it should be noted, again, that the clergy across the state did not vote because voting did not take place in their various wards.
If all our prominent people were not able to vote who then could have voted? This, in addition to my first hand information confirmed that no elections took place in Anambra State. While I urge the people of the State to remain calm and prayerful, we hope that INEC will resolve the issue dispassionately by upholding the people's right to vote".
‘Time to Test Iwu’s Claims on DDC Machines’Sufuyan Ojeifo in Abuja, 04.17.2007 – Thisday
Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, said yesterday that this was the time for the nation to test the efficacy of the Direct Data Capture machine which the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) claimed would guard against rigging and expose multiple voters. Nnamani, who arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, aboard a presidential jet marked NAF 5N-FGE, said: “There was no voting at all in my polling unit and my ward has a registration in excess of 8,000, with so many polling units.” Saying that there was a limit to propaganda, he disputed the claim by the Information Minister, Mr. Frank Nweke (Junior) that the elections were free and fair, saying that the Minister’s father, who is a traditional ruler in his zone, did not vote even though he wanted to exercise his civic right. According to him, “Not in one was there any voting; and if anybody said he voted, there is this fingerprint authentication. We can have the fingerprint tested.”
Ojukwu, Ohanaeze Reject Results in S/East Francis Ugwoke in Enugu, 04.17.2007 Thisday
…Speaking to newsmen in his Independent Layout, Enugu home, Ojukwu said that what happened on Saturday was worse than the situation in 2003, maintaining that the election was designed not to allow the participation of Ndigbo. The APGA presidential candidate was of the view that if something was to come out of the election, the entire exercise in the South East should be cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). According to him, “if something has to come out of the exercise, we have to cancel it otherwise the result cannot be used for anything. APGA will not accept it. I ask people to reflect. We reject whatever result they allotted to the people”. He added, “We went through the tragedy of 2003. We hoped that this one will be better but what was on ground was worse than the situation in 2003.What I saw was that nobody wanted Ndigbo to participate. I went to Nnewi and I was unable to vote because of no materials”.
If all our prominent people were not able to vote who then could have voted? - Obi, a governor!!!!

The nationwide governorship and state legislative elections held Saturday, the 14th April 2007 was peaceful and orderly in Enugu State .
Although voting started almost six hours behind schedule in most parts of the state, eligible voters were seen patiently waiting at the various polling centres for the INEC officials and voting materials to enable them cast their votes.
At Ojiagu ward, Agbani, voting materials accompanied by INEC officials arrived the polling centre at about 2:25pm under heavy police escourt.
The State Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani exercised his franchise in his country home alongside his kinsmen and women at his Ojiagu-Agbani ward at about 2:45pm.
Responding to questions from newsmen shortly after casting his vote, Governor Nnamani described the exercise aspeaceful and well organized and noted with satisfaction the general security in parts of the state.
"The exercise was well organized, you have seen my people in line… I have also been appraised of the general security situation in the state and you have to understand that the materials were distributed although late but in an atmosphere devoid of any violence. The whole state has been quiet apart from one or two cases...", he said.
Governor Nnamani used the occasion to commend the INEC Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, the state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner and officials of the commission for the excellent way they had organized and packaged the entire election and expressed the hope that other future elections will be peaceful.
In his words, “ you can see with the ballot papers and the entire arrangements it is well organized, I saw the pictures embossed on the ballot papers they appear good. I give my respect to the National Chairman of INEC, Professor Iwu and the Commissioner in charge of Enugu State.”
On the late arrival of election materials in the State, Governor Nnamani attributed it to some delays in the distribution of the materials and expressed the hope that the INEC would give enough time for the people to exercise their franchise in the State.
Answering a question about his feelings in leaving office in a few weeks time, Gov. Nnamani said, “ I feel good... I feel great at this opportunity to vote myself out of office. This is the first time in the history of this country that an elected government is making a peaceful and predictable exit. We must all strive to ensure that democracy endures in the land because it is only democracy that can guarantee this peaceful transition of power."
Asked to recall some of his greatest achivements in office, the State Chief Executive said: " It has been very eventful, highly rewarding. We met what was described as a 'Civil Service State' and we are leaving a purely commercial city; we met a state without infrastructure...we are leaving behind a lot of infrastructure, a brand new university, a teaching hospital and medical college, a tunnel, judiciary headquarters, modern housing estates..."
Gov. Nnamani noted with satisfaction that his eight years of governance had seen a lot of remarkable projects, adding with delight that his administration built human capacity, motivated the workforce, established a new political class at various levels of governance and promoted the emergence of the middle class.
The Governor therefore thanked the people of Enugu state for keeping faith with his administration and appealed to them to remain peaceful and conduct themselves in an orderly manner throughout the election days, pointing out that he was very confident of the victory of the PDP governorship flagbearer, Barrister Sullivan Chime, and other candidates of the party for State legislative elections.

Note that this is the governor of one of the states whose election results is yet to be announced. Now if this Governor is so sure that elections were free and fair in his state, why will Governors from states with results already proclaimend be for negative? Obasanjo also thanked Nigerians for a peaceful and fair election.

A Police force we can be proud of! These policemen in the bottom picture appear to be standing on top of a tanker, apparently laden with explosives, to blow up INEC offices in Abuja. Who needs robot bomb disposal equipment then?
Gov Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia State who voted around 7pm at his Igberi country home said the late arival of election materials in his home state was a ploy to cheat him and the entire Igbo race.
advertisement
Kalu who was visibly angry said he won’t take it and that full consultations will be taken with foreign allies in Bonn, London and Washington.
He also said that in two months time, he and the entire Igbo race would be meeting to decide whether the Igbo race would remain a part of Nigeria.
“What has just happened is a threat from INEC and the FG to threaten the unity of the country”, Kalu said.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly election in Abia State have been postponed indefinitely by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Moses Ogbeh, who just resumed duty on Friday from Lagos.
Addressing security and political party officials at the INEC office in Umuahia early yesterday morning, Ogbeh said the reason for the postponement was the ommission of some political parties and their logos in six constituencies out of the eight Federal Constituencies in the state.
After suggestions and contributions by party officials at the meeting, there were divergent views as to what should be done as the best solution to the problem at hand.
The REC said the presidential election would still hold despite the fact that electoral materials were yet to arrive Umuahia as at 10am, from Enugu Airport where they were expected from.
He said the admin secretary, Anthony Agbache, who went to represent him at the Enugu airport, reported that the plane carrying the materials had not yet landed.
The State Director of SSS, Zuere Sule, used the forum to warn political parties against the use of thugs during elections.
She said offenders must be arrested, no matter how highly placed the sponsors might be.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Yomi Onashile, assured that thugs would not be able to overpower police in this election, charging the people to report any untoward act to the police headquarters.
However, politicians affected by the postponement have decried the situation.
Speaking, Mrs Nkechi Nwogu, contesting for Abia Central Senatorial Seat under PDP, expressed worry but commended INEC on the improvement made so far on the electoral process, saying it cannot be perfect at once.
On the use of thugs, Mrs Nwogu said that the Federal Government and National Assembly should make a law that would finally eradicate thuggry in politics, adding that the untoward act had brought apathy into the electoral process whereby people were denied their right to vote.
She said that stiff penalty should be recommended to sponsors and the actors to discourage the manace in our political process.

This kalu guy really must shut up already for his abuse of language to end. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to spew rubbish. What happened to his one-nigeria singsong he coined at the expense of Ndiigbo when on his maddening sprees, he built dozens of mosques for his northern lords? Whatever was meted out to him is his overdue portion from God, it does not have anything to do with Igbo and about time nwa aro/weber reminds him of this.

The Nigerian People are responsbile for their misfortune, why? because they are comfortable with poverty. They are cowards, softies and yellow bellies. Where is the power of the people? How long will they insult Nigerians before they realize enough is enough? No nation made of people will tolorate this abuse by Obasanjo and his Hench men. This is the time to revolt. I am very disappointed the truck load of bomb was not properly planned, they would be no 70 percent win by Yaradua, another Hausa stooge. If you think Obasanjo and his administration were corrupt, wait until Yaradua and his Hausas take over. The Hausas are known to get rich quick by looting government money.

Umunne, I've just added up the total votes garnered by all Igbo contestants and noticed that it is not even up to 1 million.
I think this is now the time to "move". To be honest, I will not stand in the way of any coup plot, neither will I speak against it.
This is the time for Igbos to seize their opportunity, but it will need intricate planning. We can take advantage of the deteriorating situation and milk it
